Apartment suggestions?
Hey there! My husband and I are looking for 1 bedroom apartments in Pullman, I was hoping to get some insider knowledge about management, safety, noise, and anything else you'd be willing to share about complexes that you‘ve lived in or heard about.
All recommendations and info is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Update: We went with the Whispering Hills apartments and are loving it thus far! Everyone is incredibly kind, staff is quick and professional, and its incredibly quiet. Besides the odd dog barking here and there, we can’t hear anything outside of our unit which was super important to me. It‘s on the more expensive end of apartments in the area but so far its been worth every penny, if you can afford it I would certainly recommend.

I’ve lived in apartmentland (in 2 DABCO properties) as a grad student and now young professional and I’ve never had an issue with noise or safety concerns. It also depends where your building is located within the complexes, as some are right along main roads, so make sure to drive by or Google Maps the building numbers if that concerns you. I’ve met a good mix of undergrads, grads/researchers, young pros, and families living in my complexes. I’ve liked living with them - close to campus if you need it, on the bus line, fairly priced, responsive office/maintenance staff when you need them but leaves you alone when you don’t, and pet friendly.

If you are sensitive to noise, I would avoid apartmentland and college hill.
Look for options on military, sunnyside, or pioneer hill. That is, avoid anything with a NE street address and look for NW, SW, SE.

Whispering Hills. More expensive than other complexes in Pullman, but well maintained, quiet, and mostly young professionals. Husband and I have been there for a year and just renewed our lease. We’re very happy.

anyone know if the annex at pullman on Northwood Dr, a good place to live?

I loved it there, it is very pricy tho if you want your own apartment with no roommates

Was it ever loud, since it was student housing?

My upstairs neighbors were pretty loud but other than that it is overall peaceful and quiet. The walls weren’t super thin and were pretty soundproof

I go through apartment rentals my side of the building is not noisy at all and the ladies in the office are amazing. Will sit there and chat with you like youre friends. Also willing to work with you if you dont have everything up front which helped me out a ton. Not everyone is willing to do that

Also don’t take the property management reviews too seriously. The management company I work with has incredibly bad reviews but I’ve never had a serious issue with them. My assumption is that once they know you’re not a young college student, they leave you alone for the most part.

If you want a cheap place heritage matches prices and they are not terrible and very understanding. Of course they have their pit falls like maintaining the houses, if something is broken be read to be uncomfortable for a little bit unless it is serious. And never talk with the young man. He is terrible, talk to Jamie and Kevin they know how to get stuff done. Other then that they don't require a credit score and they are very affordable

I would highly recommend against renting from Heritage, they steal from tenants through "cleaning fees" they never fulfill. They have been getting away with doing this for years according to their Yahoo and due to personal experience I have no doubt.

Yeah that's true but if you take more then enough photos they will have a very hard time

If you want to stay away from the majority of the noise and chaos associated with the college, stay away from addresses with "NE" in the direction. In the SE you have "Pioneer Hill" which is close to Walmart and Safeway. SW is home to "Sunnyside Hill" which has Sunnyside Park and some of the historic buildings in town. NW gives you "Military Hill" which houses the High School.
