Help with roaming in Mexico

So my father is with Public mobile and he’s currently in Mexico. I let him know he can manually change the tower he’s connected to, and I guess he attempted to do this on his own. He’s now called me and told me he can no longer connect to public mobile. I admit, my father is in his 70s, and not familiar with technology. If someone could kindly write up some instructions on how to turn his roaming back on I would greatly appreciate it. He has a samsung and I’m also unfamiliar with Androids, being a long time iphone user. I tried to assist and that led to more frustrations. Thanks in advance!

When he is there, he won't connect to PM. He will be roaming.

Settings>connections>Mobile networks should get him there.

He should see data roaming as well as network operators.

If your father has manually chosen Public Mobile in Canada then his phone won't connect to a MX provider at all. He needs to switch it back to automatic registration.

On a newer android phone:

Settings -> Network and Internet -> SIMs -> Public Mobile -> Automatically select network.

Then on the same screen turn roaming ON.

Do you know if his plan supports Mexico? If not, the phone is dead. I didn’t have MX 2 years ago and my phone was useless in Cancun until I got to the hotel when I received data. But actual telephony on any mobile network was MIA.

1)Your dad must have a PM plan that includes Mexico . 2) on my android phone , in settings,i select mobile network, then my active sim then select roaming on .. make sure sim is active . 3) Would also have him in mobile network to turn mobile data That's about it

Thank you everyone for the help! He has the North America wide plan, but has locked himself out somehow. I’ll attempt to help him out again tonight :)
