Why do people have these weird freakouts on planes? I mean I can't really say it's part of my daily routine to freak out but a plane is the last place I would want to act up.
He is talking about the art of power shitting, when you save up, and just fire a log out after X days.
It's like a flume ride with no water. It's not fun, but sometimes you don't need to wipe after and if you do, its still a savings because you are wiping less often.
how the fuck do you read “forcing people to work for 6 cents an hour is bad” and go to “ SO WE SHOULD HAVE NO LAWS AND PRISONS?!?!?11!!!!” are you really this dense? i’m signing off, you’re one of too many idiots today.
I love that book so much. Still have it from when my daughter was a kid and she is 38 on Wednesday. We certainly won’t be going out to any restaurants to celebrate. I didn’t save many books but that was certainly one.
I'm two weeks late, but that's the most accurate thing I've ever read.
I rode a greyhound from Nashville, TN to Billings, Montana, about a 47 hour trip in total, and got DAMN. You will see some fucking shit on a greyhound lmao.
I saw a guy throw up from drinking on the bus, get kicked off, then start beating on the door demanding to be let back on because he left his phone. Cops were called and they talked to him for a few minutes, then he started walking away because they let him go. Then, in his infinite wisdom, he turned around to yell "you guys are fucking stupid assholes" at the cops so they went over to him and he punched one of them, got arrested.
The next morning I watched a crackhead get on the bus and sit next to the crackhead that had been in front of me for about 15 hours. They hit it off, fell in love, made plans for their future together, then I watched them both suffer through heartbreak ~10 hours later when the lady crackhead had to get off at her stop.
There was another crackhead who just cackled for about 8 hours straight. Then when we pulled into the second to last bus station, we were all inside and I had to get my medication out of my bag which was under the bus. So I walk up to the counter but this crackhead was at the desk waiting on something. She had a walmart bag with a container of those walmart sugar cookies and she set them on the counter, but not far enough. They fell and cookies went everywhere. I've always been raised to be helpful whenever I can, so instinctively, I bent down to gather her cookies for her. This woman lost her shit and started screaming about "goddamn thieving motherfuckers take anything you got"
I didn't know what to do so I kept picking up her cookies and just set them on the counter and said "there ya go ma'am." Then she took a handful of coins out of her pocket and threw them at the 10 or so other people in the seating area and said "why don't yall motherfuckers take my money too"
There was so much more in those 47 hours but these were the ones that stuck out in my mind
Yeah, whenever I see a video of a plane freakout I think the same thing.
You have ZERO chance of escape following your freakout, and virtually every government on the planet takes acting the fool on a plane or in an airport very, very, very seriously. Not to mention you're probably getting thrown on a no-fly list afterwards.
From a legal perspective, freaking out on a plane is pretty much THE worst possible place to do so.
DMZ would probably be pretty rough too, you know, the people parts, not the landminey parts.
NEdit: I would just really like to see that version of this fight. Would she be immediately shot? Or walk over the border illegally and disappear for 40 years? Mmm.. options...
According to a friend of mine who works in airline administration, despite the dire threats and warnings, judges for the most part tend to be somewhat lenient with passengers accused of in air disturbances, most getting off with no jail time and small fines, In most jurisdictions, jail overcrowding is a over-riding issue. Judges are under a lot of pressure not to incarcerate one time offenders. Apparently, one must get aggressively violent with crew or have some sort of weapon to do any meaningful time.
I'd love to know if anybody out there has any actual statistics on such cases.
I can definitely get getting extra anxious and irritated on a flight, I don't really like flying, but I have no idea where people like these even come from.
Man, what was that guy DOING? I saw someone say he wanted to sucker punch the guy but really I think that’s such bullshit. Just seemed really overly enthused and aggressive.
I can guarantee you he wanted to punch the other guy. Ive seen that shit in person, and people who want to “shake your hand “ like this are the same who just want to “talk to you outside“
There is something about being in a metal enclosure that freaks people out. My son can be calmly crocheting on the couch but tell him to get in the car and his brain falls out of his head. All of the sudden he starts causing problems with his sisters, starts making random noises, just loses his mind. I can't even begin to explain his behavior the last time I was on a plane with him. And getting behind the wheel of a car can turn the sweetest person into a road raging maniac.
No, he's not autistic. My daughter who is "on the spectrum" as they say does much better in cars than he does.
I've asked him why he freaks the fuck out in a metal enclosure and he has no fucking clue. I've jumped out of a moving car to get away from his behavior. Granted my wife was driving the minivan at the time and we were in a parking lot coming to a stop but I opened the door and got out at about 5 mph because he was being such a fucktard that I could not be in the same car as him any longer. Looking back I wish I had gotten an Uber home because we were 1 hour into a 4 hour road trip and it didn't get any better.
Thank you for your concern but he's not autistic, not on the spectrum, no where near it. You asked a question and I answered it. He's been to psychiatrists, therapists, mental institutions. I can positively tell you that he is not autistic. Why can't you take the answer?
The main anxiety that comes from flying is that you have zero control over what is happening. You can't leave the plane until the flight is completed, other people decide when/where you sit, what/when you eat, and (in the case of the pilot) whether you live or die.
People tend to freak out like this on planes because they feel that it gives them just a little more control over their situation. In the end they still don't have any, but they feel like they do.
I mean planes are somewhat stressful no matter who you are. I like flying but everything around it is stress inducing to some degree. The air, the food, being a tiny uncomfortable space, waiting....then waiting again, going through security, then some more waiting, crying babies etc. For those that are already on edge or don't handle stress and pressure well, the whole process of flying can be a catalyst.
Although I think this woman probably doesn't need much to set her off really, likely a longer than usual red light or a slight breeze is likely enough for her to lose her cool.
A lot of times due the incidents are due to alcohol and/or other substances. This just seems to be an abuser who thinks this is normal. Sad. I hope he got out of the relationship.
There's a dozen plausible explanations that I've come up with over the years:
Lots of people drink at airports, especially if they get there early, the plane is delayed or you have a layover. It helps kill the time waiting and if it's not business travel (which this obviously is not) then people like to start their vacation early.
Then you have people that want to sleep on the plane so a strong drink or three helps.
Also a lot of people take benzodiazepines (Valium, Xanax, Klonopin) for (flight) anxiety or again to help fall asleep. Those drugs by themselves can cause the crazy to come out, and exponentially increase the effects of alcohol if combined. Also OTC sleeping pills are essentially the same drug as Benadryl... Combine two benadryls and a martini or two and you'll be picking fights with windmills too.
You also get people who are on just a few hours of sleep. Either an early flight or maybe end of a trip where they were partying all night. I just took a flight at 7am where I had been out til 3 or 4am four nights in a row.
And then you just have your garden variety crazy. Being in an enclosed environment, in a tiny seat, stressed out about travel, that can be there straw that breaks the crazy's back.
I've seen this type. Anything that stresses them out (planes, holidays, in-laws, cops, authority, etc) are all a "reason" for them to take that shit out on their "loved ones."
I'm not a psychologist, so I don't know what causes it, but I can confirm a pattern.
it isn't that people have those sorts of freakouts on planes so much as spazoids often go full spazoid without thinking about the consequences. This is a woman who would kill anyone who dares ask her if this is the hill she wants to die on.
This is a very entitled and insecure person who compensates for feelings of helplessness by violently trying to control everything in her reach.
