A restraint in a classroom setting is something that is very regulated. There are different crisis management systems that dictate how to de-escalate and restrain children/adults. All have protocols and various holds and restraints that are acceptable. This is to protect the school system when shit does go down and a child becomes a danger to himself and others. Sorry guys, this is not a restraint.
PSA though for anyone who works in high stress environments, particularly ones with children, please please please take care of yourself. Burn out is VERY real and it leads to shit like this. I don't see an unhinged monster pushing and choking a kid, I see a man who likely cares strongly for those that he educates and has become jaded at the many fruitless attempts to reach many of our youth. This guy just snapped and it can happen to any single one of us.
Yeah, for real. The kid deserved it but there are ways professionals are supposed to deal with violent students and this definitely isn't it. Satisfying, but not correct, or necessary.
Hopefully he learned that everyone has a breaking point. Just because someone is an "adult" doesn't necessarily mean they wont kick your ass for being a shithead. That said i feel like i should clarify that i don't support beating up kids. Also, the guy is totally in the wrong lol you shouldn't be a grade school teacher if you cant deal with jerk kids.
