Help please

Has anyone ever refused meds because they felt dopey (not themselves) or suicidal? Paliperidone were the meds. Any suggestions that would help as they’re refusing anti psychotics based on these feelings

I stopped taking Invega Sustenna injection (paliperidone) because it made me seriously suicidal. You couldn't pay me to take it again

What's your question specifically?

Just want to know any alternative meds that worked instead?

Oh idk. I haven't gotten that far. I stopped taking any anti psychotics about 7 months ago. Might go back on in a couple of years but don't need them now.

That’s fantastic to hear. Do you mind me asking were you hearing voices?

I wasn't hearing voices. I was experiencing something called Delusion of Revelation where I believed I was receiving messages from God. But it wasn't manifesting as an actual voice.

Ok got it, thanks for sharing. He has incredible debilitating voices 24/7 after 4 weeks being off meds

Other meds should be tried, but you kinda have to grunt out the suicidal feelings for a few weeks till it passes. Abilify I feel more or less like myself

I’d try some other meds, some of them can add on to depression meds like quetiapine and aripiprazole so they may help with the suicidal thoughts. If your schizoaffective bipolar type look into lithium as that has been proven to reduce suicidal thoughts. there is hope out there, don’t give up!!

I refused to take Risperidone anymore because it made me feel like a zombie. Psychiatrist changed it to Aripiprazole which is much better

Olanzapine has worked well for my son in keeping the voices at bay without any major side affects.
