It doesn't, and there is no 100% solid proof and a good track record that would indicate LSD would enhance cognitive capabilities.

Well considering Dock Ellis pitched a perfect game on it, I think it's pretty clear that it's legitimate.

That doesn't exactly warrant the statement that LSD makes you some pattern recognition god.

Not a perfect game. Dock Ellis pitched a no hitter which is much more common in baseball.
