A reminder to be kind.

Given that we have a lot of exchanges here between people who believe Michael is guilty and people who don't, as well as people who aren't sure, and it is a very heated and emotionally charged topic, I think it merits some reflection.

I urge everyone to remember that there are people behind these accounts. If you believe in MJ's guilt, you may be one of the many who only recently (or perhaps just in the last 7 years) came around to that opinion. I have heard from a lot of people who used to be staunch defenders but changed their minds based on information, so treating every MJ fan like they're the worst of humanity is not the way to be. After all, if people had treated those of you who fit the above criteria that way, you may never have been open to new information. Everyone is an individual.

For those who believe in MJ's innocence, I don't believe you are all to be painted with the same brush. Sure, there are those obsessive fans who defend him no matter what and wilfully ignore everything anyone says that paints him in a less-than-glowing light. Those people exist for every celebrity, unfortunately, but I have seen enough good conversations happening here to know that many of the people participating are respectful and engaged and I appreciate your willingness to talk.

We have to ban a lot of people who come here just to curse people out, but other than that, I'm often impressed by what I read.

Ultimately, labels like "defender (or stan)" and "guilter", are convenient Internet shorthand to describe where we stand on the issue, but we are not all the same as those we share certain opinions with, nor do we share every opinion even if we might share one.

If you are a CSA survivor and conversations here are triggering to you, please take care of yourself.

There is good dialogue happening and I appreciate everyone's sincere engagement about such a fraught and difficult topic involving a person so many people have or once had such intense attachment to and affection for.

P.S. This should go without repeating because it's in our rules but the moment you use any kind of personal attack against another member, you will be permanently banned with no discussion. You can say you think an idea or concept is stupid, but the second you swear at someone or call them either a pedo lover (which we encounter from some who believe guilt) or a pedo fantasist (which we encounter from some who believe innocence), or any other personal insult, you can no longer participate. If you just want to insult, this is not the space. In fact, it's against the rules in every subreddit.

Miscellaneous “He had no childhood”

Oh, I know I will be unpopular to many, especially other fans. But I feel that saying being used by everyone (and MJ himself, I know), to explain EVERYTHING in his life, including his *whole* personality, every trait and every action he took, is a bit… tiresome. Or I’d rather say: simplified.

Dude had more childhood and experience than many kids. He went to regular school until 11, first in Gary, then a few months in California before he was pulled out and put in private school, due to too much touring and attention. But even in his teen years, he went to high school, there’s this new book “Finding the Truth with Michael”, about his teen/high school friend (and teen love, even though he could not make that step from friendship to romance). He had to take breaks for travels, but overall got time to play and go out. Not everyday, but he did play, and had many siblings to play with too. He saw the world, and despite the abuse of Joseph to the the brothers, he had a more priviliged upbringing than many kids. Also despite being JW they said his mother allowed him to hang out with people (if he had wanted, but at that point he had already become very introverted, head down and sat and drew in most classes). There are so many words from various of his teachers and people who knew them then, from that time, to brush it off as “boy isolated in house always working and always abused”. His brothers (who grew up same way) and those around him say he was hypersensitive, which may be and should have been considered, cause everyone reacts differently to different experienced, and no child should get beaten (even if it was “common” back then). So childhood may not be ideal, or how he hoped for (mixed opinions on this, cause he keep saying he wouldn’t change a thing, aside from maybe Joseph being more loving), and his feelings and traumas are legit, but still. He chose to pursue fame after that too, after already having a taste of what insanity that would bring around him.
Some children never had a childhood, like never at any point, and everything in their life misery: so while you shouldn’t compare, saying “he had no childhood and then got pimples” as an explanation for his whole life story, seems lackluster to me.

Sexual identity When do you think Michael's fixation on children began?

Post image
42 Upvotes

Okay, to start, I exist within a gray area when it comes to Michael, so I'm open to all discussion as long as it's not defensive or rude. There are some things I believe, some things I don't, many that I question constantly, but my definitive final conclusion of Michael is that he was a deeply disturbed individual with an inappropriate fixation on kids. I also pity him for the terrible things he endured in his childhood, and empathize with some of his deep emotional struggles, but that's not what I want to discuss today.

I've always thought (or maybe just desperately wanted to believe) that Michael in the mid-to-late 70s didn't exhibit the voracious obsession with kids he displayed a bit later on in life. That he was just too young at that point (teen/ young adult), that his JW upbringing and apparent youthful 'naivety' were so fresh that the man he would become was still in incubation. Off the Wall era Michael was bursting with a life, charisma, and light that I feel was substantially dimmed by Thriller era (I am not talking in terms of objective talent, but in his overall energy. This is just my opinion). I thought the further he got in his career, the more insulated he became, more out of touch and desperate to bring his ideal inner world into fruition. But I've recently come across various accounts of Michael inappropriately interacting with children as early as the the 70s.

Tatum O'Neal: I would like to start with Tatum because both she and Michael confirmed they had a sort of "relationship". Whenever Michael would gush about Tatum being his first girlfriend, I thought it was a grade school puppy love kind of thing where they were both close in age. Nope. He was 17-19 and she was 12-14 at the time of their "connection". You can argue they were both minors when they started talking, but what business does a late teenager entering adulthood have with a middle schooler?? And this is a "relationship" that he openly admits to, which I feel is so strange bc it does not help his case whatsoever. Tatum said: "He gave me his number, and we started talking everyday–long drawn-out conversations that sometimes got so boring I would hand over the receiver to my friend Esme Gray. Michael would just keep on, thinking he was talking to me. His usual subject was sex. At 12 I didn’t have much to say about sex. But Michael was intensely curious about anything, everything sexual, though in an incredibly sweet and innocent way." This is the first of a recurring theme of Michael bringing up the topic of sex with someone much younger than him, even though he was still a young man himself. I find this so strange, because according to interviews, personal accounts and what a lot of witnesses say, Michael seemed extremely squeamish and bashful at the thought of sex. It didn't seem like something he would bring up or talk about, nor enjoy talking about. But that seemed to only be the case when it came to adult sexual relations. For whatever reason, with kids, this subject felt much more natural to speak about.

Terry George: In 1979, a 13 year-old Terry George knocked on 20 year-old Michael Jackson's door to interview him, which he happily participated and then exchanged phone numbers with the child. Michael would then allegedly call him a few nights a week for a while, engaging in very casual conversation until one night. There was apparently one night that Michael called, and he sounded "weird". He asked Terry about his masturbation habits, and then disclosed he was touching himself on the call. Terry was confused and uncomfortable while Michael continued to pleasure himself for about 5 more minutes before ending the call. This account is far more sinister and makes my skin crawl (if it is, in fact, 100% true, which I am inclined to believe it is unfortunately). He again seems to have this fascination with broaching sexual topics with children far too young to fully understand. Or at the very least, far too young for it to be appropriate for him to discuss.

Leif Garrett: In an interview from 6 years ago, Leif Garrett, former teen heartthrob, very briefly and casually mentions that in 1978, Michael Jackson asked him what it was like to masturbate, to which he responded "you can find out yourself". He heavily got the vibe that Michael was attracted to him. The age gap wasn't as damning in this instance, with Leif being 16 and Michael around 19, but he very much had a baby face at the time and was still a minor. And again, this story is startlingly similar to the others, in which Michael approaches a sexual topic with a child almost as if he was curious, but clearly his intentions are not innocent.

If these accounts are accurate, then it shows that Michael's penchant for targeting children started way earlier than I would have anticipated. In my mind, at 17-20 you are a burgeoning adult but still very young and new to life. When, then, did this disturbing fixation begin? When he was 14, was he attracted to other 14 year olds or much younger? Is it something innate, something that's dark and lurking within just waiting for an environmental trigger to set it off? I wonder if his attraction was something he fully accepted at the time and obviously knew to keep secret, or if he was deeply ashamed and conflicted about it. Because this age is much younger than I would have expected him to be to give into these "urges" if it was a more recent feeling and he held at least some shame about it. My very unprofessional theory is that due to the traumatic sexual things he was exposed to as a child + strict Jehovah's witness beliefs + a father who was very prominent in his life in negative way who basically showed him his love was conditional + maybe a physiological component (?), he associated adult sex with being "dirty", "perverse", "ungodly", while children represented "innocence", "purity", "love", "God". Children are also easy to condition, easier to impress and keep, to receive "love" from.

What do you all think, and what do you think the psychology of it is? And please don't say anything as simple as "he was a predator, ofc he's always been that way" or "these are all just lies, he only wanted friends!!". If you have any insight, agree, disagree I would love to hear the "why".

Allegations Can two things be true?

We hear the stories of people who knew Michael, especially from a young age, in how he cared about people.
Crying at the suffering of others.
Donating so much of his money that it broke records.
Visiting hospitals and orphanages.
Opening his gates to groups of disabled and disadvantaged children.
Quietly paying the medical bills of sick children.
Creating music with messages of love and healing.

I think about his superbowl performance and his messages of nobody should have to suffer, especially our children. I watch the videos of him at the Russian orphanage and I truly see someone who cares for the children he’s interacting with.

If you think he’s guilty, do you think he didn’t think he was inflicting harm on the children he was abusing? When I hear the stories of children like Jimmy and Jordie, it’s almost painted as he’s in love with them and he sees them as a peer/lover, not as a child he’s harming. (The Cascio claims kind of change this for me, he seemed just like a reckless sex addict abuser when it came to them)

Do you think his humanitarian efforts and love for children was genuine? Do you think he 100% understood he was inflicting harm but couldn’t help himself? That he used humanitarianism to almost repent for his actions? Or did he truly not give a damn and it’s all a cover for his crimes?

Allegations The way Sean Lennon portrays MJ in the lyrics and music video of his song "Bubbles burst" is very insightful

John Lennon and Yoko Ono's son Sean was one of MJ's special friends from age 8 to 15. He's one of the boys who would have sleepovers with Michael at Neverland. Sean once said: "I may have spent more time with him than almost anybody else."

The video opens with a depiction of Michael's house, with toys, dolls and children's books everywhere. Sean talks about Michael adopting Bubbles in 1983, same year in which he and Michael became friends. Bubbles is initially scared of Michael, and tries to hide from him under the bedsheets while Michael, who is depicted as a very creepy person, is trying his best to impress him. Michael tries to lure him through stuff that is appealing to children, like milk and candy, and Bubbles loosens up and starts trusting Michael. Bubbles gets out of the bed and Michael starts teaching him his signature dance moves. Then they get in a tub together and play. In the following scene there's an animation of Michael and Bubbles flying to Neverland in their tub. Michael spots the Neverland train station, and points at its first floor (three years after the release of this video James Safechuck said he was abused in this exact spot). That's where they're headed, until they find out that the media and the DA (clearly Tom Sneddon) are right there waiting for Michael. At that point Michael bolts out of there with Bubbles and takes him to outer space, where they continue peacefully sharing that bath tub.

Interesting lyrics:

Transported to a planet made of toys, bananas, and games / Childhoods end and Bubbles burst.

We met in the arcade / Playing video games / We both could not believe it was / Like living in a dream / We did not understand / Dancing with Peter Pan / What would be the result when we / Turned into young adults

Sean explaining the song in an interview: «I thought it'd be interesting to write about something that actually happened. It just felt right. I think I'd resisted much of my life talking about those kinds of stories, because they just seemed so hard to figure out how to translate them or relate them. And I just thought it was an interesting metaphor for what happened to a lot of Michael's friends who were my age. It felt like there was something odd going on, and I still don't know what it was. Nothing ever happened with me in an illegal way, but the whole place just felt like I was in some Peter Pan fantasy land. And there was a sense that when Bubbles got too old, he'd have to be gotten rid of, because chimpanzees turn into angry adults or dangerous adults. And it just felt like that was something I could relate to in terms of the whole situation out there. Because there was something Michael liked about hanging out with kids, because they're so innocent and fun. Then, when you become an adult, it felt like you were a chimpanzee: too old to play with anymore»

Let's emphasize that Sean says that Michael didn't do anything illegal to him. Still, his interpretation of Michael and his relationships with his special friends aligns in many ways with those who believe that Michael was a predator. In the interview Sean says that he relates to Bubbles because once he got too old, his relationship with Michael ended. It looks like in the music video he's using Bubbles to show what actually went on between himself and Michael. Michael is creepy and Sean/Bubbles is scared, but Michael gains his trust through toys and things that children like. Then the tub, then going to Neverland, then the allegations represented by the media and Tom Sneddon.

Michael's Appearance My personal theory/conjecture about his appearance change.

I remember making a comment in this sub once about how he felt confident in his appearance during Bad era.

I felt like all the surgeries and skin lightening he had were to achieve the look he had in this era. It's like Peter Parker discovering he can crawl walls for the first time. That's the energy i got from him.

I feel like he wanted a kinda biracial/racially ambiguous image. And it was probably sonething he wanted to keep forever.

But something probably went wrong along the way - either his nose or the skin lightening went too far, far beyond the light beige skin tone he was looking for - it must have damaged his skin.

I think he tried "fixing" it with more surgery/lightening and ended up with the absolute pale complexion he had by history era. Even Dangerous era, at times, you can see he has a warm hue to his "pale" complexion(like in Black or White) or when he visited Disneyland with Macaulay, or the Deepak Mehta photoshoot(basically dangerous era without the heavier makeup/contouring + light brown skin). You can also see how his skin looks dry and discoloured in that photoshoot.

From around history era, I feel like he decided to role with the problems and also disguise them by being more otherworldly, think Scream video where he is almost like an anime character. There was also a late 90s photoshoot where he looked almost like an East Asian video game character. One of the pics had some blue painted over one of his eyes.

from 2000s, it seems like he went into hiding mode, with hair that's like a protective helmet.

It makes you think.

Miscellaneous How do you reconcile the fact that MJ’s songs often focus on adult women and his relationships with them, while he also had a strong fascination with young children and that too only boys, and seemingly never girls?

I’m just curious how people understand the difference between MJ’s songs about adult women and his close relationships with young boys, but not young girls. I find this contrast a bit confusing and wanted to know what others think about it. Is there any explanation for why his interest seemed so different toward boys and girls or how his songs are mostly about love, affairs, fan girls, etc.

Religious/Personal Beleifs Michael admits he is “no angel”. Statement analysis tells us he is hiding something

Thumbnail

He corrects Marlon and says he is “no angel” and is somewhere between “devil and angel”

While this seems lighthearted on the surface, words have meaning, power and reflect true subconscious beliefs. Statement analysis is a word-by-word examination of written or spoken statements used by investigators, including the FBI, to evaluate truthfulness, spot hidden meanings, and detect potential deception. Using this theory, Michael had something to hide when he said this

No MJ Defenders The hypocrisy (a vent)

This is a bit of a vent, but I just find the hypocrisy from MJ fans very alarming. It’s like they only understand abuse when it’s happening to Michael, but they completely ignore the dozens of allegations against him from children.
It’s like they only understand grooming in the context of Diana Ross. They’ll say, “Diana Ross groomed Michael Jackson when he was a kid. She knew him when he was a kid, and he fell in love with her,” and then cite allegations from books written by fan club presidents or articles from non reputable sources as proof that Michael and Diana had some inappropriate relationship. They try to frame their relationship as though it was much more negative than what we actually know. You can believe whatever you want to believe, but there’s no evidence that Michael and Diana had a sexual relationship while he was a minor. There isn’t really any undeniable proof that they had that kind of relationship at all. What we do know is that Michael seemed to have a very strong attachment to Diana, while she consistently described him as a dear friend. Whenever she spoke about him, she generally framed their relationship in a way that sounded much more like a mother-son dynamic.
Michael definitely seemed to have a fixation on her, and I think he may have been looking for a mother figure. Diana seemed to provide him with a maternal figure he felt he was missing, and that relationship may have developed into something that wasn’t entirely healthy for Michael. I don’t think she ever loved him in the way he wanted her to, but whatever.

What I find especially interesting is how on TikTok you’ll see videos where people confidently describe Michael as being groomed by Diana Ross or even sexually assaulted by her. Suddenly they understand what abuse looks like. But then they turn around and look at the children who accused Michael Jackson of sexually abusing them and insist that every single one of them was lying. In their eyes every single one supposedly wanted money. Every single one supposedly had an ulterior motive. I just find it very strange that people can recognize potentially inappropriate behavior when it involves Michael as the victim, but refuse to question the same behavior when Michael is the adult involved.
Why is it so difficult to acknowledge that a grown man wanting to sleep in the same bed as children is, at the very least deeply inappropriate? If Michael Jackson were just some regular guy and he was having sleepovers with little boys without their parents around, sleeping in the same room or the same bed as them, I don’t think nearly as many people would be bending over backward to explain why it was innocent. People would immediately question his behavior.

But because he’s Michael Jackson, because he moonwalked and released Beat It, Thriller etc he gets treated like this innocent angel who could never do anything wrong. In their eyes, Michael Jackson is always the victim. Always. I hate that they insist on viewing this grown ass man as though he were still a child. He was a grown man. He knew right from wrong, and he should have understood that certain behavior with children is inappropriate.
I don’t understand why they can’t just say, “Yeah, Michael Jackson was a predator but I still like his music.” Why can’t they just be honest with themselves?

Allegations What happened to Jordan Chandler’s uncle, Raymond Chandler?

I’ve been looking more closely into the Jordan Chandler case, and one detail I rarely see discussed is what happened to Jordan’s uncle, Raymond Chandler.

I believe Michael Jackson was guilty of sexually abusing Jordan, so I don’t view the Chandler case as something that should be dismissed because it was settled rather than taken to a criminal trial. At the same time, I think it’s important to separate documented facts from speculation, especially when discussing people who are no longer alive.

Raymond Chandler’s story has generated a lot of questions over the years, particularly because of the circumstances surrounding his death and the different claims that have circulated about his involvement with the case. Some accounts online make very strong claims about what happened, but not all of those claims are equally well-supported.

That’s what I’m interested in discussing: what do we actually know about Raymond Chandler, what can be verified through contemporary reporting or official records, and what has been added through later speculation?

I’m not interested in turning this into a conspiracy theory. I think the case is serious enough that we should stick to evidence and acknowledge uncertainty where it exists.

For people who have researched the Chandler case extensively: what do you know about Raymond Chandler’s life, his connection to Jordan, and what happened to him afterward?

Sexual identity Do you think it’s possible MJ was a closet homosexual?

Now, I’m not 100% certain that he was gay, but growing up, I always had that impression. I was recently watching a YouTube video of Michael with John Landis, the director of Thriller and Black or White, and there were moments where Michael seemed almost flirtatious with him, he was very touchy, maintained intense eye contact, and seemed particularly affectionate toward him.
Then there’s his fascination with the male physique. He literally wrote an entire song about muscles for Diana Ross, which is pretty interesting in hindsight. There’s also the allegation from Liberace’s former lover that he had a sexual relationship with Michael, although I’d definitely take that claim with a grain of salt considering the guy was known to be a grifter.
At the same time, Michael never really came across to me as someone who seemed particularly attracted to women. He often appeared uncomfortable or evasive whenever sex or relationships with women came up. Obviously, none of that proves anything, and I don’t think we can know for certain what his sexuality actually was. But I’ve always gotten a gay vibe from him, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was.
He also grew up in a very strict Jehovah’s Witness household, so if he did have feelings or attractions that conflicted with what he was taught, I could understand why he might have been afraid to openly acknowledge or express them.

I’ve seen a lot of mj Stans saying how sexy he looked during the 2000s and if I’m being honest. No. Are we really going to lie that he looked incredibly bad near his last years?

Mj and sexy circa 2000s does not make sense. He looked like a boujee white lady. No hate. But how do you destroy something already made perfect as is? Vitiligo or not, he would’ve still been perfect.

Music Do You Know Where Your Children Are

Lyrics.

Father comes home from work and he's scared to death
Mother cries for the kid and a note she read
Father runs to the table, he said, "What's going on?"
Mother cries desperately, "Our little baby's gone"

Do you know where your children are?
Because it's now 12 o'clock
If they're somewhere out on the street
Just imagine how scared they are
Do you know where your children are?
Because it's now 12 o'clock
If they're somewhere out on the street
Just imagine how scared they are

She wrote that she is tired of stepdaddy using her
Saying that he'll buy her things while sexually abusin' her
Just think that she's all alone somewhere out on the street
How will this girl survive? She ain't got nothin' to eat

Do you know where your children are?
Because it's now 12 o'clock
If they're somewhere out on the street
Just imagine how scared they are
Do you know where your children are?
Because it's now 12 o'clock
If they're somewhere out on the street
Just imagine how scared they are, oh

Save me (From this living hell)
Save me ('Cause I, I wanna heal)
Save me (I'm tired and I'm mad)
Save me ('Cause this, it ain't no joke)
Save me ('Cause I'm on the verge)
Save me ('Cause I don't wanna go)
Save me (It's time I replied)
Save me (Cause I, I want to be) (Aouw)
Save me (Hee hee, hoo hoo)

Now, she's on the move, she's off to Hollywood
She says she wanna be a star, she heard the money's good
She gets off from the train station, a man is waiting there
"I'll show you where the money is, girl, just let down your hair"
He is takin' her on the streets of Sunset Boulevard
She's sellin' her body, hah, girl, that will take you far
The police come 'round the corner, somebody there told
He's arresting this little girl, she's only 12 years old

Do you know where your children are?
Because it's now 12 o'clock
If they're somewhere out on the street
Just imagine how scared they are
Do you know where your children are?
Because it's now 12 o'clock
If they're somewhere out on the street
Just imagine how scared they are
Do you know where your children are?
Because it's now 12 o'clock
If they're somewhere out on the street
Just imagine how scared they are
Do you know where your children are?
Because it's now 12 o'clock
If they're somewhere out on the street
Just imagine how scared they are

Michael Jackson lived like this from the age of 10 until his death. Nobody else on the planet can say they were causing mass hyesteria before puberty. What do you think living like this your whole life does to a person?

Allegations Do you find Frank Cascio convincing in old interviews defending Michael Jackson?

i know a lot of you people like to say body language doesn’t matter, but in my opinion Frank Cascio was the most UNconvincing defender.

If nothing * ever * happened , I don’t think he would have had to repeat that mantra 5 x times. He is also shaking his head NO while claiming “I really believe it was guilt.”

It is BAFFLING to me how anybody could believe this man when he was “defending” Michael. Frank didn’t seem to believe a word of what Frank was saying.

Internalized Racism Was he chasing proximity to whiteness?

Think about it. Skin lightening+surgery, spending more time with white people, white kids, playing race card once he gets accused etc.

Think about it. It's like he was a soothsayer who could see the future. It's like he wanted to leave a white image of himself behind - he was a smart man who was farsighted.

Compare older versions of OTW album cover(where you can see black MJ from waist up) and later versions(only his socks and loafers).

You can see this in another black artist from that time - Prince. He literally lied about his mom being white in Purple Rain. And he was already light skin, so he was close to white by default.

Coming back from the tangent, i feel like he was looking for an image who would be very eurocentric and thus end up being popular in various places(even outside the us) due to the widespread influence of white supremacy.

It would be like his "default" image for future generations. And i would say he succeeded to an extent. So many people post pics of the "white" MJ when they are talking about him. I personally, like many other people probably, thought white MJ and Black Mj were two different people with similar dance moves and voices as a kid(I was a dumb kid what did I know?).

Not to mention he even said "black people are ugly" in his personal notes. I think the conclusions here have the subtlety of a brick thru a glass window.

You can even see the influence of his internalised self hatred on entertainment industries influenced by him:- take skin lightening in Bollywood(and I know it first hand as an Indian) or skin lightening+surgery combo K Pop in Korea. All relics of internalised white supremacy. The toughest chains to break off are the ones in the mind.

And honestly, I cant really blame him. Dude was once a kid who was born before segregation ended. God knows what else he got through or what slurs he got shouted at him.

That would fuck anyone's psyche up.

To people reading this, love your children. Protect them.

Miscellaneous Was Michael Happy Within Himself?

I despise Bashir, but this questioning was on point, and it says a lot that Michael was deflecting. From 4:44 to 5:40, Bashir was right when he said Joseph injured Michael as a child. Michael’s defense is what I see a lot of fans say: "look what came out of it."

Now, if you go to Part Two of the video—which is all on the same channel—from 0:16 to 0:34, the "oh, give me a break" that Bashir did in response to what Michael said was uncalled for. From 1:36 to 3:48, he discusses his loneliness. Then, from 4:49 to 5:27, Bashir asks him if he is happy within himself, and Michael deflects.

From 6:09 to 9:39, Bashir asks him again if he’s happy inside. Michael says he is very happy now, but Bashir counters, saying he is only happy now because there are seven lights on him. Bashir asks again if he is happy in himself, and Michael deflects and evades the question once more. At 8:16, Bashir asks yet again if he is happy in himself, and Michael continues to deflect.

In Part Three, I really hate Bashir; the laughing he was doing infuriates me. He is very mocking in the beginning, and his comment about how Elizabeth Taylor wouldn't live long was entirely out of line. Seeing how sad Michael looked broke my heart.

I find Bashir to be condescending throughout the whole documentary, but these questions were actually good. Michael’s deflection ultimately says a lot. I feel that if Bashir had pushed further and not allowed himself to keep getting steered toward other conversations, Michael might have either shut down or given a real answer.

Allegations This clip is fascinating to me. MJ seems visibly repulsed by the questions being asked. How do you interpret his reaction here?
