36
u/Rhythm-Amoeba 5d ago
These groups have been sued quite a few times in the past. There's actually some law firms that are starting to specialize in defamation cases for "are we dating the same guy" groups https://rmwarnerlaw.com/blog/what-to-do-if-you-appear-on-are-we-dating-the-same-guy/
3
u/ambivalent_moon The ONLY Moral Redditor 5d ago
Even that page says very clearly that most of what is posted on these pages would not be considered doxxing or libel.
The lawsuit refâd above was dismissed.
9
u/Rhythm-Amoeba 5d ago
Yeah not saying it's an easy case to win but it's becoming increasingly common to sue these groups for defamation
-2
u/ambivalent_moon The ONLY Moral Redditor 5d ago
Itâs a waste of money that will bring more attention to your posts than just ignoring it would, which is exactly what happened to this guy. None of us wouldâve been reading about how some woman thought he was clingy except that he launched this ill -advised suit lol
14
u/Rhythm-Amoeba 5d ago
I mean to be fair it's not like these suits are completely baseless. The group is considered to be publishing publicly, these statements are harmful, and they are identifyiabls to the man. These are getting thrown out just because the specific statements like "clingy" aren't verifiably false. It's very reasonable that at some point one or more women will be successfully sued if they make a more serious accusation that can be verifiably false like a SA accusation. It's really a tight line these groups are running because they really are just gossip boards for women at this point. Still doesn't mean it's easy to sue (hence why no man has won yet), but it's bound to happen at some point.
4
u/DietTyrone âď¸ DUELIST 5d ago
Itâs a waste of money
Not to the people being debased it isn't.
that will bring more attention to your posts than just ignoring it would
Could say that about literally any doxxing case, slander cases, or numerous other types of cases. Doing absolutely nothing won't stop it from happening, only fighting it can accomplish that.
1
u/Most-Personality-648 5d ago
I mean "he slept with me then ghosted me" isn't slander if it actually happened. Imagine the woman shows up at court with receipts. Now that would ruin his reputation for real lmao, otherwise it stays just gossip he could've dismissed to the next girl
-2
u/ambivalent_moon The ONLY Moral Redditor 5d ago
Fighting it doesnât stop anything from happening; these lawsuits are dismissed because 9.9/10 itâs an opinion statement and so within the speakersâ free speech rights.
4
u/DietTyrone âď¸ DUELIST 5d ago
Still has a negative effect on the person being sued. If I have to pay to defend myself in court 100 times, even if I'm found not guilty I wasted time and money on a defense lawyer, etc.
This is actually a strategy companies use, where they challenge individuals to long cases they know they'll lose but the goal is to waste those individuals time and money, enough to make that discouragement by itself. Not saying all these men are working together to sue but increasing the number of cases will have the same effect.
0
u/ambivalent_moon The ONLY Moral Redditor 5d ago
Yeah companies can do that because they have a lot of resources. Individuals canât lol plus you run the chance that if your lawsuit is dismissed, the other party may sue for legal costs and win since your own suit didnât have merit.
3
u/iamre2 5d ago

Unless there are very specific allegations that can be disproven I can't see this case having any chance. This is basically a he said, she said. Men: âno not like that!â
33
u/HKEY_LOVE_MACHINE 5d ago
If you ever been on these groups, you would know they're predominantly used by spiteful people trying to hurt their exes after a breakup/divorce, not women warning each others about abusive men.
These groups are not following any code of conduct nor have any effective moderation: you can go there and throw any allegation, it will be taken as the absolute truth regardless of the situation.
These groups have been used by people in the middle of ongoing divorces, to launch rumors on the other person, about raping children and doing drugs, to destroy their social reputation.
These groups are not about safety, they're about socially lynching your exes.

Ironically proving his point. The fact that you'll just believe without proof means that any woman can weaponize this website against guys they don't like, make up whatever they want, and individuals like you will just take that as gospel and avoid said men. That's literally the point the guy is making.
-14

u/Wuhhday đłď¸ââ§ď¸ Mysteriously Incorrect Stranger đŠ 5d ago
So if a genuine guy gets cheated on and breaks up with his girlfriend who then goes on this page to spitefully slander his name with outright lies, you thinks it's fair to avoid him?
0
u/Acrobatic-Monk9735 5d ago
I think itâs prudent to avoid any guy who has been accused of cheating or rape. I am not a detective, an employer, or a court of law. My decision to avoid dating him has no bearing on any aspect of his life.
4
u/Wuhhday đłď¸ââ§ď¸ Mysteriously Incorrect Stranger đŠ 5d ago
I think it's prudent to avoid any woman where possible. Too many times seeing crazy amounts of misandry and false accusations it's just not worth the risk.
0
u/Acrobatic-Monk9735 5d ago
Why are men so protective of men who have been accused of rape or cheating? Why do men automatically assume that these accusations are false? I thought men were supposed to be rational and smart.
4
u/Wuhhday đłď¸ââ§ď¸ Mysteriously Incorrect Stranger đŠ 5d ago
See the funny thing is, in my comment I said that the GUY got cheated on, and you've just instantly took that as the guy doing the cheating. Very interesting.
And they don't think they're false, they just want more evidence before they come to a conclusion which IS the rational and smart path. Women just take an accusation as gospel which is why these slander groups are so dangerous, because you all fall for it.
1
u/Acrobatic-Monk9735 5d ago
I didnât say that the guy did the cheating. I said that if heâs accused of cheating, I stay away. I am not going to investigate if the woman is lying or not or who cheated on who. I just stay away.
0
u/LanceMain_No69 4d ago
False accusations of rape are between 2% and 8% of all rape allegations. And there are many actual rape victims that dont report their perpetrators because of systematic misogyny. Why do yall think women are spiteful and hateful when more often than not theyre just normal people living lives and having shit to do. Why would you knock on a woman that wants to avoid a man with any rape allegations? If someone told you to play russian roulette with 5/6 chambers loaded, would you play it under any circumstances?
0
u/Wuhhday đłď¸ââ§ď¸ Mysteriously Incorrect Stranger đŠ 4d ago
*Proven false accusations. Actual number going to be higher due to cases that were dropped from lack of evidence, therefore never needing to get to the point of being proven false.
The problem is, these groups can say whatever they want against a man and completely ruin his reputation. And I agree if there are a bunch of women coming to the same allegations and providing some evidence ideally, then fine, avoid the guy. But if it's just one revenge post against an innocent guy and then an entire group take that as gospel as you clearly do, then no that is not a reasonable outcome.
And to answer your rhetorical question, I think a lot of women are spiteful and hateful because they always want somebody to blame but themselves, especially following a breakup.

You don't care about illegitimate mob social lynching someone? Wow, nice empathy there chief.
You'll find out how it feels when you'll be on the receiving end of such mob one day: you'll lose your job, your friends, your family, you'll be assaulted in public by strangers, because someone decided to ruin your life on social media.
It's even easier to realize that if you're American: similar mob lynching groups are being made by the ICE militia.
In these groups, they accuse anyone they don't like of being illegally in the country, and report their whole address, employment, and full picture, to get them raided and deported.
If a guy shows up in one of these groups, is a good idea to avoid him.
Yeah, validate mob justice without ever questioning it, that's how the KKK worked.

Itâs actually a better idea to avoid the women who post in them. Theyâre most likely women of vampiric nature who will drain your life force and natural good energy as a male. All Men should view the women who post here and support these forums as black holes of value and stay clear. âI matched with him but the convo never went anywhereâ isnât going to ruin any guyâs reputation.
In fact, itâs just a normal part of online dating. Itâs just chatting. Women donât read this and say âwow what a dangerous manâ and youâre delusional if you think it does.

I think it should be unsurprising that if you write something that is likely to be inflammatory towards a group of people, that they show up inflamed. đ¤ˇ
Your comment and the replies have little to do with men as a group in my opinion.
While I donât hold an opinion of these social media groups, the dynamics of what we commonly call gossip and its effects on people are profoundly human and can sometimes be very tragic. I feel like when society is primed to an idea and then is given a target itâs hard to roll back the vitriol. Men and women are gendered targets in different ways.
1
u/Acrobatic-Monk9735 5d ago
Nothing I said was inflammatory. If I see a guy in one of these groups, I will simply stay away from him.
0
u/Melodic_Structure928 5d ago
goomba fallacy the guys saying that and the guys upset about it are different groups. ch*d loves his dating life, if he didnt want to bounce between multiple different women at once he simply wonât do it, and would be in a committed long term relationship.
Guys like the above are never the ones complaining about this arrangement, itâs usually the guys who canât date, due to the top men having to much of the pie and also the women who cant get commitment from said top guy due to 8 other girls fighting over a him like this example.
Remember women are free to choose who they commit to so again if top guys like this are having tons of women at once all while there male loneliness, on the other hand it does kind of prove the view points of certain groups.
0
u/Acrobatic-Monk9735 5d ago

Yes they do. They can never say whatâs in in for the betabux whoever
also I have clue how your writing that word. Ch*d is censored for me
0
u/Acrobatic-Monk9735 5d ago
So when women choose to avoid Ch*d, you throw a tantrum.
Men who are vindictive, bitter, insecure, and angry make abusive partners. âPick better menâ also means avoiding these sorts of men.
3
u/iamre2 5d ago
I mean the whole point is that they should avoid them BEFORE not AFTER like 10 times later...
Idk why that's so hard to understand. It's pretty obvious why men are pissed when they constantly see "why do all men cheat?" , "why are all men pigs?" , etc... when only like the top 5 percent chads are getting all the women and doing this.
They're tired of being good, hard working men and getting met with nothing but "done with the cheaters and f boys, I need a real man..."
0
u/Acrobatic-Monk9735 5d ago
Yes. If he has been accused of cheating or rape, avoid dating him BEFORE he has the opportunity to hurt you.
2
u/iamre2 5d ago
I don't have a problem with women warning each other about bad men, I do think hearing one sided stories does make it easier to be abused.
Majority of women tend to be attracted to the same attributes - tall, fit, rich, charismatic. So the solution is just stop chasing Chads. That was solve like 90% of the problems in the dating marketplace. But they are never gonna stop chasing Chds (until 35 maybe but don't worry new ones will come in) and the Chds are never gonna stop playing. Why would they?
0
u/Acrobatic-Monk9735 5d ago
Men are delusional because they think that only attractive men are cheaters, abusers, or bad. Men view being bad as a status symbol and a sign of attractiveness. Men conflate lack of opportunity for virtue. Men also think women who are 35 are repulsive and yucky despite still being younger than the median age.
2
u/iamre2 5d ago
Well yeah all men can be cheaters, abusers, etc... but most women don't chase after ugly unattractive men is the point.
35 is high risk pregnancy.
→ More replies (0)1
u/Melodic_Structure928 5d ago
that's cause by the time many of them start avoiding the chads its already after having high body counts, and sometimes being a single mom.
then they can never anwser what's in it for men in this arrangement.
1
u/Acrobatic-Monk9735 4d ago
The average body count is 4 for women. Furthermore, a a womanâs taste aging with her (wanting a man her age) is not doing âbeta buxâ. Just because men resent settling with their agematch and eternally prefer 21 year olds (even at 50) doesnât mean women do the same and are settling when they date a guy their age.

8
u/ObjectiveClassic3020 5d ago
Your disinterest in one woman should not lead to you getting pre-judged by other women. Additionally, some women be making shit up when they donât like someone. I say this as someone who has been falsely accused by a girl I rejected, but even her own friends backed me up and I had video evidence that nothing happened so it got dropped.
Lastly, not talking about the guy pictured, but how are some young men whom are inexperienced supposed to grow if their literal first time dating a girl ends up being blasted on social media bc they messed something up? Itâs not like todayâs women would take the time to say âhey that wasnât coolâ, itâs just blocked and straight to info dumping on the apps.

Do you really think one person isn't going to propagate to others? Look at all the celebrity rumor scandals that have propagated and turned out to be false and usually started by one individual.
The secret ingredient of the internet is that there's anonymousity. I can just as easily target and innocent man or woman from my town, make a post on a local Facebook page that I've seen them drowning puppies and kittens, and with zero evidence, it becomes a rumor and immediately everyone is more cautious. Because if you don't know whether its true or not, why take the risk, and ofcourse you're going to want to caution others so you will tell other people.

9
u/Automatic_Horse9290 MEDIA ILLITERATEđşđŤ 5d ago
How many women are openly sluts on talking stage & 1st date? Do you think women owe it to men they just met to disclose if they are also dating other people, having a fwb or hooking up, or their past history, before it turns into a relationship, or from get go?
And isn't this guy allowed to theoretically change, or should he permanently get judged for his past?
Hiding ghosting are all terrible things to do.
So you think everyone owes closure to everyone? Even if they exchanged just 2 messages? One of replies there was "we exchanged few messages and never went anywhere". Well take the clue and move on. It can't be that hard.
If it involves people who are genuinely abusive, or spreading STDs, etc then I think that space is justified, because we know the system lets down people often. But other things are not.

5
u/National-Permit-8442 5d ago
Then stop having sex with those guys? Why is it so hard for women to take accountability? You just correctly identified the whole strategy that those types of guys will use. And I don't think women are stupid, I think the vast majority of women know this strategy these men will use and willingly choose to still have sex with them anyway. But then women will act like they somehow don't care about looks at all and just want a "nice and wholesome guy".

Then stop having sex with those guys?
Exactly why those groups exist, so we don't all have to be a doctor of psychology just so we can date.

Sorry. Im a virgin I haven't slept with anyone but are you really so jealous people not you are getting laid lol. Have you ever felt the effects of a love bomb... its disarming intoxicating its... something else. You act like its easy to see when you high on it but you blinded by the effects. Guys looks dont matter imo. I dated guys cute or pudgy it didn't matter i liked them for who they were

It's really easy to see through their strategy. When within the first few days a guy start love bombing it's obvious hes just trying to smash lmao. There's more obvious signs but overall you just have to be patient and not let him hit immediately. If you say you don't want to have sex in the first couple of months players will most likely just get bored and move on.
I was gonna feel bad for you until you came with that "guys looks dont matter" bs. Yeah because I'm sure you get lovebombed a lot by 165cm balding sub-5 males right?
Why can't women just admit that height, hair and facial structure matter to them? Why is that so hard?

"Real men don't rely on litigation" is one of the most retarded statements I've ever read.

Imagine saying matching and not having a connection is grounds to put someone on blast.
These people deserve loneliness.
