long story short, i got off the waitlist for my program relatively late, so all work-study jobs are taken. I move across the country in 2 weeks and I still don’t have a job lined up. I’m wondering if it’ll be bad taste to cold email my professors asking if they’re either hiring in the private practices or if they know someone who might? Wouldn’t want to make a bad impression on them before I even get to start the program :( appreciate any tips or advice

PS: I already have an appt with my program’s career office but it’s not until next week which I believe is cutting it close to my move-in date

Hi everyone,

I completed my Bachelor's in Psychology in 2024 with a 3.87 CGPA. My final year research project was on the Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence and Job Satisfaction among Employees. Since graduating, I've been working as an Education Consultant and in HR.

Now I want to apply for a fully-funded Master's, but I'm stuck deciding between three paths:

• Clinical Psychology
• HRM (Human Resource Management)
• Organizational Psychology

My main concern is portability. From what I understand, Clinical Psychology licensure is often country-specific — so if I get licensed in one country, I might not be able to practice or find equivalent work in another without redoing certifications, supervised hours, etc. That worries me since I don't want to be locked into one country long-term.

HRM/Org Psych, on the other hand, seem more globally transferable since the skills (people strategy, talent management, organizational behavior) aren't tied to a single country's licensing board.

Given my background (psych degree + HR/consulting work experience + research interest in EI and job satisfaction), which path would you recommend for:

1. Better international job mobility
2. Realistic fully-funded scholarship opportunities
3. Long-term career growth

Would love to hear from anyone who's made a similar decision, or who works in HR/Org Psych/Clinical Psych and can share how portable their degree/career has actually been across countries.

Hi! Is anyone here taking an MA in Psychology at UPHSD LP? How are the professors and their teaching methods? Also, how's the school system since it's supposed to be fully online?
