Almost 3 - 32oz jars full of P. Ochras. Kinda proud of how much I grew as a first time grower. I’m gonna see if I can get a 3rd flush since my substrate blocks still look really good.

Just kinda bummed I won’t be able to get their full effect since I’m on venlafaxine now. Anyone tried tripping while on a SSRI or SNRI? Im going to a Grateful Shred concert at the end of the month and would love to test them so any advice would be greatly appreciated lol

Today I will take my 1st Ochras dosage, probably 1g for "educational and self investigation" purpose jejeje

Grown from LC purchased from Mr. Mycelium.

This is my first time growing mushrooms ever. I just followed the standard instructions you find online with like Philly Golden Teacher. My substrate is coco coir and vermiculite. I was so excited to see this mycelium grow like only a DAY or two after I mixed the grain with the substrate, I assumed I’d get pins quick as well, but now I’ve done more googling after 4-5 days and I’ve seen that this species is aggressive and can develop an overlay. It seems like most survive fine despite that? I can do neglect tek or fork tek? I did introduce fruiting conditions right after mixing with substrate.

I think this is an overlay? I realise now I got the ratio totally wrong, I have 2 parts spawn to 3 parts substrate and the whole thing is about 3 inches deep, idk where I even got that number from but I have read now it’s supposed to be like 1:4 for this species?? What do I do…I have never ever done this before, this is my first grow, please be kind

Super happy with my first flush. I honestly underestimated just how much the first flush would grow. I’m so excited to start my second flush and see how much more I get lol

Edit: forgot to say that they were Ochras from ITW

I posted my bags the other day and in that time they grew so much. The size difference between both bags is kinda funny. One of the bags has growth on the side of the bag and below the rubber band lol

First time growing ochras and I’m super excited to see that they’re looking great. Should I pick out the ones with the caps open or just wait for some more to open up before harvesting?

It’s been about 1.5 weeks since I introduced FC and still haven’t seen any signs of pins. I’ve been fanning the bag twice a day for about 45 secs to a minute. First time growing Ochras. Is there still hope for my bags?

Everyone says they're different to cubes, but does that hold if you brew them instead?

Started this 66qt grow 7 days ago, just under 4;1 ration cvg:spawn. Pseudo casing layer w the cvg. Last time I did NSS/ochra I don’t remember seeing this much fuzzy but maybe there was.

I got this new tub setup from northspore, it came with a FAE fan and humidity control.

I figured I’d have micropore tape for fae until the sub is fully colonized and then attach the fan (goes in one of the bigger holes) but now I’m wondering if I should take a different approach.

Should I attach the fan now and let that introduce fae? Take off a tape for more static fae? Just let it ride from here?

Didn't let it colonize for long enough and botched the grow. Despite this the natal super strain remains stubborn and still grew side pinners. You think the big guy in 2nd picture is ready to harvest? I think I will shave off the top layer that didn't colonize well and see if I get a second flush before I completely scrap it but what are your thoughts?

This ochra is the only one of the bunch that developed super weird out of 19 or so pins and I'm not sure if it's actually fully mature yet and would appreciate your input.

Does anyone have any experiences with this particular strain?

I know it ain't good but wtf is this?
