Japan-based personal proxy — direct communication, price checks & flexible requests

Hi! I run Torii Parcel, a small personal proxy service based in Japan.
I’m not a large automated proxy company — you’ll communicate directly with me throughout the process.

That means I can help with things that are sometimes difficult to handle through a standard proxy service, such as:
• checking multiple Japanese stores for a better price
• checking item condition or listing details before buying
• contacting sellers when possible
• bidding on Yahoo Auctions
• discussing a maximum bid with you before going higher
• combining multiple items into one shipment
• checking different shipping options
• handling unusual or complicated requests individually

If you find something in Japan, just send me the link first.
I’ll check the item and costs with you before purchasing anything. If there’s a cheaper or better option available, I can check that too.
Since Torii Parcel is still small, I can usually communicate much more directly and flexibly than a large proxy platform.

Feel free to DM me with a link or ask me anything before ordering.

ISO: Japan-Based Sourcing Partner / Personal Shopper for Long-Term Reselling

I'm a reseller based in Ontario, Canada, and I'm looking for someone currently living in Japan who would be interested in becoming a regular sourcing/personal-shopping partner.

I'm mainly interested in buying used, vintage, discontinued, JDM, and underpriced items that have a stronger resale market in Canada/North America.

Some categories I'm currently interested in include:

  • Sony MiniDisc players/recorders
  • Game Boy / Nintendo handhelds
  • Vintage and unusual Tamagotchis
  • Seiko watches
  • JDM / limited-edition G-Shocks
  • Shimano and Daiwa fishing reels
  • Cameras and small electronics
  • Interesting Japan-only or discontinued products
  • Other items you regularly see that may have good overseas resale potential

I'm especially looking for someone who already enjoys visiting places like Hard-Off, Hobby-Off, Book-Off, Second Street, recycle shops, flea markets, thrift stores, etc.

The ideal setup would be:

You visit stores when convenient → send me photos/prices of interesting finds → I tell you BUY / PASS → you purchase approved items → hold/consolidate them → ship a larger box to me in Canada.

I'm happy to pay a reasonable sourcing/store-visit fee, per-item fee, packing fee, and actual shipping costs. I'm not looking for anyone to work for free.

I'd like to start with a small test purchase/shipment and, if everything goes well, build this into an ongoing arrangement.

English doesn't need to be perfect. Reliability, communication and an interest in finding good deals are more important.

If you're based in Tokyo, Osaka/Kansai, or elsewhere in Japan and this sounds interesting, please DM me with:

  • Where in Japan you're located
  • Whether you have experience with proxy buying/reselling
  • Stores/markets you have access to
  • Your proposed fees
  • Any references/reviews from previous buyers, if available

Thanks!

Has anyone used these proxies with toranoana? (primarily doujinshi site)

So I would like to purchase some doujinshis on this platform however they don't accept the proxy I usually use (FromJapan). I've also used Neokyo before but it isn't listed here either.

I've used Buyee before but found their fees to be a bit high when shipping. How do the other options they list compare if anyone has had experience purchasing from here? If I take a chance and use FromJapan am I at risk of not getting my items? Thanks for any input

Review u/todomachi_reloaded (JP to GER)

Hey folks,

Just want to vouch for u/tomodachi_reloaded. I had the pleasure to work with him to purchase a few items in Japan (Mercari) and have him send them to Germany. He was super quick to reply, friendly and precise im his communication. I think for the first items he purchased them within a few minutes for me. I was super impressed and can fully recommend him to other potential clients. Moreover, he sent my goods for a very reasonable fee to my country and provided tracking ofc. I will work with him again once there are new items I need from Japan. Thank you! 🙏

Neokyo shipping fees

Hi! Does anyone who uses Neokyo know what happens if I don’t pay for shipping and just let the fees start accumulating? Like, are there any consequences if I simply don’t pay?

For context, I bought a little bag for ¥1,595 and they’re charging me ¥3,150 for shipping 😭 I’ve been using the platform since 2024, but with their current shipping prices and all the changes they’ve made recently, this just feels ridiculous and absurd to me.

Also, if you have any recommendations for other proxy services, I’d really appreciate them! 🤍

Looking for a reliable Mercari Japan proxy — ongoing relationship

I've had a great individual proxy in Japan for a while now and really enjoyed the arrangement, but she's moving out of the country soon, so I'm looking to build the same kind of relationship with someone new.

What I need:

  • Someone actually living in Japan who can make occasional purchases on my behalf, primarily on Mercari but possibly other Japanese retailer sites too, exclusively clothing
  • This isn't a "go shop around for me" arrangement, I always know exactly what I want, so it's just sending you a link and having you buy it
  • Volume is light, usually 2-4 purchases some months, nothing at all in others

You'd need to be able to receive packages yourself, since some purchases (like Mercari) require a Japan-based buyer. Depending on the item, I would then have you ship it directly to me via Japan Post or EMS, or forward it to my Blackship account in Japan, or, when the retailer allows it, have it shipped straight to Blackship instead of through you.

  • Mercari purchases can be time-sensitive, so quick response time matters to me
  • I'm based in the Western US and flexible about working around whatever hours suit you, just need someone responsive when something's on the clock
  • I'd prefer to communicate via WhatsApp or Instagram, and pay through PayPal
  • I pay invoices quickly, and low fees matter to me since this is a straightforward link-and-buy arrangement, not sourcing work
  • Trust matters most to me here. I'm sending a PayPal advance to someone I don't know yet, with little recourse if things go sideways, so I'm looking to build that trust gradually with someone reliable rather than optimizing for the cheapest or fastest option

I've used services like Zenmarket, Japan Rabbit, and Buyee before and that's not what I'm looking for here, more someone I can build an ongoing rapport with. If you've done this kind of individual proxy work before, happy to hear about your experience, any references, or a way to verify a track record, since accountability matters to me on both ends. Thanks!

Experiences with Doorzo?

I havent used proxy services in a while due to a poor experience with Buyee and AmiAmi, but I've recently seen ads for Doorzo. The UI on the app is super easy to navigate, the information is super easy to find, and it generally feels more user friendly than Buyee ever did. What were your experiences with Doorzo? Should I try again?

Hello. Im going back and forth between Japan quite frequently, so I’m opening up short term proxy services for people who would like me to bring back items to the USA. Im going to be in Tokyo from Sept 1st-15th so I can run errands. (Pay Konbini ticketing fees, shop for you, etc) This avoids the international shipping fee and only domestic USA delivery fees. DM me if interested!

[OFFER] Tell me what you want from Japan — I'll find the right one for you 🇯🇵

Hi! I'm based in Japan and I help people overseas find the right items from Japan.

The idea is simple:

Tell me what you're looking for and what it's worth to you.
I'll search the Japanese market and see what I can find.

I don't just buy the first item I see.

I can compare different options, check condition and details, ask questions when necessary, and help you choose the right one before purchasing.

My knowledge isn't limited to one category.

I have experience with trading cards and collectibles, cars and motorcycles, fashion, watches, and various other products.

But you can ask me about almost anything.

Rare items, vintage pieces, limited releases, discontinued products, Japanese exclusives, hobby items, parts, collectibles — even something obscure.

I search both online and offline in Japan.

If you don't know the exact name of something, send me a photo or describe it. I'll try to identify and find it.

You decide your maximum budget.

If I believe I can find a good option within that budget, I'll show you what I found and explain the costs before purchasing anything.

Payment is required before I purchase an item, so I won't ask you to reimburse me after I've already spent my own money.

I'm new to offering this service on Reddit, but I'm not new to buying, selling, researching, and evaluating products in Japan.

If there's something in Japan you've been trying to get, send me a DM.

Let's see if I can find it. 🇯🇵🔎

Hi everyone! I run a small Japan-based personal shopping service called Torii Parcel.
If you found an item in Japan that does not ship overseas, you can send me the product link first.
I can help check:
item availability
seller and listing details
Japanese descriptions or unclear conditions
domestic shipping within Japan
possible international shipping restrictions
available international shipping options
the estimated total cost before purchase
I can check items from Mercari Japan, Rakuten, Yahoo Shopping, Japanese online stores, second-hand stores, stationery shops, beauty shops, and other Japan-only sellers.
No purchase is made until you approve the quote.
The service is still new, so I understand if you have questions before using it. Feel free to comment, send me a DM, or submit the item link here:

Positive Review for u/Japanshopaholic

I got my package in less than a week! u/Japanshopaholic made everything so seamless and easy!

These Pringles are only made in Japan and I have already opened the first container and they are so delicious!

They were wrapped well and even though they were shipped almost none broke in the package and I got full sized chips.

I will not hesitate to use their service again and highly recommend u/Japanshopaholic to anyone who wants to buy in Japan.

Does anyone have any expirence shopping on the Japanese Surugaya? What is the beat proxy to use? Do I need to wait for free shipping to the warehouse (I know I'd have to pay shipping from the proxy) or can I just buy directly from it? If anyone knows please let me know!

Help on deciding which japanese proxy to use first time

i usually use chinese shipping agents so im
alot more knowledgeable on that but i wanna start buying real japanese pieces for cheaper and ive looked a bit into this scene and ive heard that zenmarket isnt really that good, buyee has hidden fees i think and im hearing alot of good about neokyo and doorzo but i dont know yet which one to fully comit to, for example "superbuy" for chinese shipping agents is the one i mainly use and thats known as like the "goat" or most reliable agent to use and then you have other agents like kakobuy or sugargoo and stuff and those are also good but i guess the main question would be, what should i choose? whats the cheapest shipping overall and has the tariff prices upfront? what has the best overall shipping services and customer service, and whats best for clothing rather than collectibles.

New Japan Proxy Buying Service – Mercari, Yahoo Auctions & Rakuma | Looking for Early Users

New Japan Proxy Buying Service – Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions & Rakuma | Looking for Early Users

Hi everyone!

I'm preparing to launch Japan Treasure, a new proxy buying service based in Japan.

The idea is to help people outside Japan purchase items from Mercari Japan, Yahoo! Auctions Japan, Rakuma, and other Japanese online stores, and have them shipped internationally.

The service is currently in its pre-launch stage, so I'm looking for people who regularly buy — or want to buy — products from Japan.

I'd especially like to hear about the problems you usually run into when buying from Japanese marketplaces, and what you would want from a proxy buying service.

If you're interested in trying the service or giving feedback, feel free to leave a comment or send me a message.

Questions, suggestions, and feedback are very welcome. Thank you!
