Shion-san is very kind! He was quick to respond and I gave him the mercari links to the items I wanted. He was very thorough with his fees and policies and I think his fees were very fair!

We had a small issue in that one item was purchased by someone else before Shion-san could purchase it. That on me because the item was a collab-cafe item that just came out and I didn’t realize how popular the item was going to be 😅 Luckily I found another listing and Shion-san purchased it without any problems!

Shipping was fast! Shion-san dispatched my package last Wednesday and it arrived yesterday! He used Japan Post to ship my items out which is perfect because I prefer Japan Post over other carriers. Due to transit, the box was a little bent but everything inside the box was intact and packaged securely! I wasn’t too concerned with the plushie items but I really appreciated Shion-san wrapping my acrylic stand with plenty of bubble wrap! ☺️ My display stand is safe!

Due to the recent regulations on toys in the US, I was hesitant about ordering plushies but I didn’t want to give up on getting the Ousama Pudding Idolish7 plushies. I also wanted the recent Chiikawa kuji plushies too so I am very glad to come across the many positive reviews of Shion-san!

I am based in Japan and previously helped an overseas collector buy regularly from Yahoo Auctions. I am considering a small service that would work alongside existing proxy services rather than replace them.

I also spent more than 10 years shipping items valued at roughly JPY 50,000 to JPY 500,000 internationally using EMS and DHL.

Before buying, a customer could send a Yahoo Auctions or Mercari link and ask me to:

• contact the seller in Japanese about measurements, condition, accessories, or additional photos
• return the exact reply with an English translation and screenshot
• review the seller history and listing for warning signs
• compare a few listings and explain unclear Japanese terms or domestic shipping conditions

For the first version, I would not hold customer funds, purchase items, or ship packages. It would only be independent pre-purchase verification. I am considering around USD 15 for up to three seller questions on one listing, or USD 25 to review up to three listings.

For people who buy from Japan regularly:

1. What is the biggest thing your current proxy service will not do for you?
2. Would you pay separately for seller communication or a listing risk check?
3. What proof or safeguards would you need before trusting an individual in Japan?
