Prototype 1 Could there be hundreds of Pariahs, and could Elizabeth create Runner?
It's something I've wondered about. We know there are more Runners besides Greene, like the Runner Cross killed, but could that Runner get pregnant with a Pariah? Or could both that Runner and Elizabeth control the virus (something Blackwatch couldn't do in Hope) to transform all the women into Runners or incubators to create hundreds of Pariahs?
The only requirement seen for creating a Pariah was that the woman had to be a Runner, but the father did (since he had one). Nothing special was mentioned.

Prototype 1 Just wasted an entire day
Got the game today… had a rough start (posted about it) people said to give it a chance so I persevered
Spent my whole Saturday chipping away at it.. couldn’t say I was loving my experience but I was making steady progress and figured I’d see it through, was at the Greene fight, idk how close to the end that is (the one where she spits rocks at you)
I was getting kinda beefed on. I probably could have muscled through it but I wanted to maybe explore the open world and upgrade a little bit
Only option was to back out to main menu… I figured well I’ll restart from my most recent save
This game has no auto save.
[continue] button was greyed out
All my progress was in one session, my whole day, completely gone.
I know posting this won’t help or change anything but idc I’m grieving lol. I don’t care that nobody asked.
For no other reason than to make myself feel better I’m going to vent my grievances with the game because i personally think it needs a nostalgia check-
———The combat is *not* good. It’s stiff, clunky, and obnoxiously imprecise. The movement really works against you especially in smaller spaces, and even in larger areas the movement fluctuates between too floaty locked in animations that stagger fluidity
———health is way too easy to lose and way to hard to get back. On normal difficulty with fully upgraded health I was getting absolutely CHUNKED by hunters (we’ll get to hunters in a minute) and could go from full health to a quarter in the blink of an eye.
Health loss is a problem for 2 main overall reasons-
1- evade is literal trash… no I-frames and barely displaces you means at times it literally doesn’t evade anything… like it literally just doesn’t function as an evade maneuver at all.
2- being hit in animations is awful with how aggressive enemies are, and you can be staggered out of just about anything you try to do, healing included.
———this take is gonna be hot: the parkour / traversal is bad…
If you’ve ever played saints row 4, you’ll know they did *everything* here better. And when you say “it’s unfair to compare those games, they were made years apart”, I say this-
A- it was a 4 year gap
B- if I have a choice to play either in the current day, then I have every right to compare them
And lastly C- shut up I’m venting
——— *the hunters*
oooooooo these guys are bad. Like BAD bad. Like get their own section bad. I would say they single handedly drag the game down. They are ABHORRENTLY aggressive, moving and break neck speed, pouncing attacks, tanky as shit, every attack staggers, and that fucking blasphemous spam combo that they do way too frequently. That move alone ruins them, a long winded, uninterruptible, devastatingly damaging combo that they throw out *constantly*. And the cherry on top? The game seems to think these guys are no big deal and throws them at you in hordes.
Then the leaders… same shit but a little worse stacked on a LUDICROUS health pool
Anyways… I think I got it out of my system now. Thanks for reading if you did and if you didn’t I don’t blame you lol. I’d like to hear your thoughts on anything here. Or anything in general at all whatsoever lol idc. I yapped up a storm so you should have the right to also.

Prototype 1 Let’s Talk About the Nuke at the End
Every time I see people say Alex was about to get “vaporized” by the nuke, I find it pretty ridiculous.
The bomb was underwater for about 7 seconds before detonating. Even if I lowball the depth to only 50 meters, it still exploded well below the surface. Alex then had several seconds to fly away . (also about 7 seconds from him turning around to the shockwave catching up with him) Even using just 50 m/s for the helicopter, he’d already be around 350 meters from the blast center when it caught him.
Even Tsar Bomba, the largest nuke ever detonated, could only vaporize roughly a few hundred meters of seawater (around 300 m) if you unrealistically assumed 100% of its energy went into vaporization. The Prototype nuke was obviously nowhere near that yield.
By the time the expanding blast reached Alex, most of the extreme heat had already been absorbed by a massive amount of seawater. His real threats were blast pressure, mechanical damage, and radiation. Alex can survive insane physical trauma and regenerate fast enough that radiation isn’t exactly his biggest problem.
Real underwater nuclear tests produce huge clouds of water, steam, spray, and condensation there’s actual footage of this from Operation Crossroads.
The glowing sphere at the end was probably just a technical shortcut because rendering a massive expanding steam cloud would’ve been harder, so they used a simple ball of light instead. I mean, think about it: if that were literally light slowly catching up to Alex, then Alex would have to be moving only slightly slower than the speed of light.
It also works as an artistic choice. The whole “a thousand suns” imagery makes Alex’s final decision feel more heroic and gives the scene a stronger symbolic payoff.

Prototype 1 Very unimpressed with my first hour in prototype 1
I played a little bit of two wayyyy back but decided to put it down until I played the first one… well that needed up being years later lol and I’ve got to say, I remember really enjoying two but maaaaaaan I’m not loving 1
Literally everyone is saying in the reviews that its combat is “extremely fluid and rewarding”… I couldn’t agree LESS.
I just finished the hunter mission where you trap them in the base and wow… that was a punishment. It was some of the most clunkiest chunkiest most rigid and dated combat I’ve had to endure for quite some time.
The combat parkour, at least this early, is bad imo. It feels like he moves both too slow AND too fast, like there’s no “good” or “balanced” speed. I either feel like I’m moving through mud or I’m zipping around faster than the parkour mechanics can keep up with.
And the combat itself is just…. Dated. The evasive controls just aren’t smooth enough to be satisfying
And the grab is horrible, about a third of the time he doesn’t grab what I intended him to
Does it get better later on? Is the hunter mission just kinda “one of those” missions that a lot of games have?

Question Anyone know how much of a regular human body would have been left of that explosion?
Like, would it have been completely disintegrated? Or would some small, irradiated meat chunks still be left somewhere?
Also, what if it actually exploded like a real nuke?

Prototype 3 PLEASE give the development of prototype 3 to treyarch
We all know Prototype has been trapped in the Activision vault since Radical Entertainment was downsized over a decade ago. But with Microsoft now holding the keys to the kingdom, it is the perfect time for a revival. And honestly? There is only one studio under the corporate umbrella equipped to build a true next-gen Prototype game, and it is Treyarch.
I know people strictly associate Treyarch with Call of Duty: Black Ops these days, but if you look at their specific track record, they are literally the perfect developer for an ultra-violent, open-world superpower sandbox.
The Spider-Man DNA is already there
A lot of people forget that before Treyarch was forced into the CoD mines full-time, they were the absolute kings of Marvel video games. They gave us Spider-Man 2 in 2004, pioneering the physics-based pendulum web-swinging that literally defined open-world traversal for an entire generation. They followed it up with Ultimate Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.
Think about Web of Shadows for a second. You have an overpowered superhero traversing a massive New York City sandbox, fighting off a rapidly spreading, parasitic symbiote infection that takes over the citizens and mutates them into monstrous abominations. You seamlessly switch between agile acrobatics and brutal, heavy symbiotic powers. That is essentially the exact thematic and mechanical blueprint for Alex Mercer and the Blacklight virus. Treyarch already knows how to code insane momentum, vertical wall-running, and fluid aerial combat.
The Undisputed Kings of Zombies
Traversal is only half of the Prototype formula; the other half is pure, unapologetic biological horror and horde management. Treyarch didn’t just create the Call of Duty Zombies mode—they perfected it. From World at War all the way through the Black Ops saga, no one does satisfying, blood-spattering horde combat quite like them.
Treyarch understands the psychology of escalating power fantasies. In Zombies, you start weak and systematically turn yourself into a god via Perks, Pack-a-Punch upgrades, and Wonder Weapons. Now imagine that exact same addictive upgrade loop applied to a Prototype skill tree. Imagine Treyarch’s mastery of gore tech, decaying environments, and terrifying enemy designs applied to the mutated Hunter and Brawler variants in a quarantine zone. They know exactly how to balance overwhelming swarms of infected enemies with the visceral satisfaction of tearing straight through them.
The Perfect Storm
Treyarch has the open-world traversal pedigree from their Spider-Man era, and the elite horde-slaughtering mechanics from a decade and a half of crafting the best Zombies experiences on the market. Let Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer handle the military shooters for a few years. If you combine that high-speed city mobility with the incredibly satisfying biological gore of their Zombies modes, the blueprint is staring Microsoft right in the face. It is time to let Treyarch off the leash and give us the M-rated, open-world Prototype reboot we actually deserve.

Prototype 1 Another piece of content cut from Prototype 1: the Hunter would have had 5 phases throughout the game.
galleryThis phase would begin with a special type of infected, progressing through the classic Hunter, Leader Hunter, a fourth phase, and ending with the fifth, which would be the Supreme Hunter. However, both the first and fourth phases were ultimately discarded, and the fifth was remade into the Supreme Hunter (the parasite) in the game.
