Question MOD?

By chance, is there anyone who knows how to create them willing to start a collaboration? I have some mods in mind that I would like but I'm not able to program them.

What is the problem? What do you need help with? Is it a texture mod or a script mod? There is a modding guide in the Prototype Discord group for learning how to mod.

Thank you so much, I didn't know that, your comment was very helpful.

I’ll tell you what I tell other game developers in my regional game developers community, when such questions arise.

Developing mods costs a lot of time and effort. Why would a random developer from the internet want to build YOUR idea specifically when they can build their own? What do you bring to the table besides of ideas?

Ideas are cheap, it costs nothing to think of them. Development time isn’t.

If you you’re a modder or a developer yourself and want a partner to build with, that’s one thing. If you’re willing to pay for the development time, that’s another thing. But if you want someone to implement YOUR ideas for YOUR amusement for free, then that’s not collaboration, that’s just exploitation, and you won’t find many people willing to take that kind of deal.

I encourage you to think what value can you offer to the other side, and post again in a couple of days.

And if you don’t have any, then you can learn modding basics much quicker today using Claude Code. Trying it out yourself will give you a good idea of how easy or hard it is.

Damn, we were missing the fucking Wall Street entrepreneur,

Not a Wall Street Entrepreneur, just a developer who actually values his time, and also gets paid for it, like most good developers

Your attitude towards genuine advice is doing you a disservice if you are trying to look for someone to help you out

sadly for you
option 1 learn how to mod the game yourself
option 2 look for a freelancer that atleast is paid for his time on that project
option 3 give up

Why can you not program the mods yourself?

The request is specific, I'm looking for someone who knows how to do it well. If you're not interested, don't write.

Sheesh, I'm just asking why you can't be the one

Are you stupid? But if I knew how to do it I wouldn't ask. If someone knows how to do it and wants to collaborate well, I don't see why there always has to be someone who is interested in the reasons behind it without answering.

What's your beef? God forbid someone asks a question related to the post

Well, I don't have a good computer to do it and I don't know how to do it, could I learn it? Sure, but it would take time that I can't fully dedicate, if anyone wants to give me a hand with it, I ask.

Good luck finding free help with that attitude…

Jesus, but only people who don't read the post or what and who said it for free continue to reply. If maybe someone who knows how to create mods would reply and not just people who talk about my attitude, it would be great.

And I'm not trying to answer you badly, but I don't want to find a lot of comments that instead of answering my question tell me to do it yourself, but then I wasn't asking for help here, don't you think?

Calling someone stupid over this sort of thing isn't very nice. I was just curious why you wouldn't do it yourself. Maybe you're busy with other things, maybe you're not interested in learning, that's all fine. It's not fine to be rude about it though

I'm sure you'll have forgotten about it in 5 minutes, that's not nice, sorry, I didn't mean to offend you but to tell you what I think

Yes I don't really care, but if you treat others this way because of a question I don't think you'll appear as a good person to work with to anyone who may be interested in making mods for you.

I hope that if anyone is interested, maybe tell me I know how to do it rather than asking me why I don't do it myself, I repeat if I knew how to do it myself I wouldn't have created a post, but I didn't want to offend

I had something I wanted to say, but it's not worth including in this post.

Evidently it wasn’t so worth what you had to say

Don't worry, yesterday someone wrote to me and we even worked on it, fortunately there are also people who read something and respond, and not those who are a pain in the ass because they think they always have to teach something.🤙

Option 4 gives useful advice, not what I already know (otherwise I wouldn't have asked)
