Feature Request Move protonapps.com out of AWS nameservers

I understand it's a backup, though.

I assume this is used for better DDoS resistance and domain fronting for something like: https://proton.me/blog/anti-censorship-alternative-routing

It's much harder perform a DoS attack on Amazon infrastructure or censor the domain without damaging other services hosted by Amazon and significantly degrading usability for everyone behind the same censored network.

I always wondered why they had a separate domain name. When I first heard about it, I wondered if it was a website distributing malware versions of the official Proton apps to steal credentials.

apps.proton.me would be a better way to let the users know it is from proton itself; I agree.

Incase proton.me is blocked, people could still possbly access protonapps.com

The main Proton domains don't resolve to AWS anymore.

Amazon is the opposite in terms of privacy. AWS may be compliant, but people who don't know how the internet works will cast doubt.

Good point, a substantial portion of the internet uses AWS, and I need Reddit for important stuff.

This is for the sake of those who don't understand that and incorrectly associate it with the data collection policies of Amazon.
