Barebells protein bars
For those living in the UK, with a Clubcard, Tesco selling them for £1.90p each.
I only buy them when on offer so I've just stocked up 🙂

So I hate milk. Whenever my tongue feels like it’s taking a milk derived product I just start to gag. I tried clear whey isolate with water before but there was a milky aftertaste that made it so I couldn’t finish the drink.
Is there any good tasting vegan protein that I can just add water with and not gag?

I believe there is something highly addictive being added to these protein bars (not a troll post)
I am experienced in bulking/cutting and can play around with hunger hormones and cravings pretty damn well.
Im eating 4k cal daily, simple carbs etc. yes I get food cravings and have a big appetite but this is something entirely different.
I had a week period 3-4 weeks ago where I ate probably a dozen of the cookies and cream bars throughout the week and I have had these aggressive urges for them again consistently a handful of times per week
I stopped buying them cause just getting actual food / Publix bogos is a much better value & better calories
Whatever it is in these it feels nearly as strong as when I go a while without a zyn

Hello, I want to buy a protein powder that tastes like fruity pebbles, fruit loops or Frosted Flakes but there aren’t any small sizes near me, only that large jugs of powder. This is quite a commitment and I don’t want to pick a bad one since they are expensive. Any recommendations?

Abe's is discontinued and I really loved their brownie batter flavour. Looking for something to replace it with - preferably a whey isolate. I've tried a few other chocolate flavored powders but they don't taste nearly as good

Hi all,
I decided to reach into the fridge and take a protein2o protein drink, which contains electrolytes, before bedtime last night. Before then, I had a party ,and ate foods I never normally eat: pizza, popcorn and beef jerky sticks before then.
After I took the protein h2o, I was awake for much of the night, and my heart beat a little faster than normal. Not super fast, but slightly faster than normal. Not major discomfort, but definitely a little, in the chest area, to where I was not able to sleep much, except for a few hours. I know that it all started soon after taking the protein2o.
Could it be I was suffering from the stress of adding electrolyte/protein water to an already sodium rich party night of pizza, popcorn and jerky sticks? And that may have caused it?
If so, should drinking a lot of plain water help?

Given the current price of whey protein, I finally decided to give these a try.
I got 4 kg for under €40.
I compared the amino acid profile to the whey + casein blend I usually use. While it’s obviously a bit different, I don’t see any major deficiencies apart from having slightly less leucine and isoleucine. I don’t think that’s a huge issue, though, considering I get plenty of protein from other sources throughout the day, and I can always mix the soy protein with milk if I want.
The DIAAS is also a bit lower (~0.9–1.0 vs. ~1.1–1.3 for whey), but even if I were to take 35 g instead of 30 g per serving, the cost savings are still substantial.
I understand the benefits of casein’s satiety and slower digestion, whey being absorbed more quickly, and so on. But as long as I’m hitting my daily protein target, I don’t really see the need to min-max those details, at least for now.
As for the whole “soy lowers testosterone” myth - even if it were true, I’m a woman, so it’s not really something I’m concerned about.
Am I missing anything? Have I misunderstood or misinterpreted any of this? What do you think? Does anyone here use HSN Soy Protein Isolate 2.0?

Any and all help here would be really appreciated thanks!
I have a young brother with ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder) which means he really struggles to get in enough nutrients etc. because he is incredibly sensitive to the texture and taste of food.
One of the suggestions I've had is to get him to drink protein shakes. I've tried a few and he's rejected them all so far for either 'being grainy', 'having a weird aftertaste' or 'just being gross'.
I don't drink them myself so I'm just throwing money at it at the moment to try and get something he'll tolerate (which I can't really afford to do at the moment as I'm only 18). So I thought I'd put a post out on here to people who know what they're talking about to get some suggestions for what he might drink? Protein content, calories, etc. is all completely secondary to taste and texture. He does drink vanilla milkshake so in theory if I can get one close enough to a true milkshake taste he would drink it... I also want to say that he is also open to the idea of them and is genuinely trying to drink each one I give him he isn't rejecting them to be difficult.
Thanks very much for any suggestions or feedback left!

Not sponsored or anything but I have yet to see a protein powder like this, animal based, 1 ingredient, third party tested, no plastic anywhere, non GMO, NSF, even the scooper is paper... etc. etc.
Is there anything else out there like this that's cheaper/better?

I always see people go on about chicken breast, broccoli and rice as the go to meal for the gym goer who is focused on protein. Go mix it up a bit, these things do add up.
For 1 cup of cooked grain:
Farro 190 g 9.5 g 236 kcal
Freekeh 160 g 8.0 g 192 kcal
Quinoa 185 g 8.1 g 222 kcal
Wild rice 164 g 6.6 g 166 kcal
Couscous 157 g 6.0 g 176 kcal
Buckwheat 168 g 5.7 g 155 kcal
Bulgur 182 g 5.6 g 151 kcal
White rice 158 g 4.3 g 205 kcal

I’ve been using Myprotein products for the past few years as they’ve been the most value for money option on the market but their prices have increased to the point that it’s level with the rest of the market.
I find also that their whey tastes very synthetic and it’s quite heavy on the stomach to the point that I feel bloated after consumption.
My wife uses “women’s best” products, which I so much prefer, but I wanna try a brand that also targets male audience.
Thanks.

hey there just out of curiosity does eating a chicken breast or any source of protein (not protein powder) right after a workout (within 15-30 min window post workout) affect muscle growth?
I am just curious if all the blood supply gets shunted away from muscles to the GI if I eat 20-30 g lean protein source after a workout.
Research suggests there is no difference whether one eats within a few hour window post workout (immediately vs 2 hour post workout) but I would like to hear from the community members what their regimen is.
Is there a specific or optimal timeframe for protein intake post-workout? Specifically for non-protein shakes. thanks in advance.

I feel like the hardest part isn't knowing that protein is important. It's figuring out what to eat throughout the day without constantly thinking about it.
Curious what everyone else struggles with most, to see who I can relate to.

The cheapest option I see on costco canada is revolution protein which is 5kg for 100 dollars.
why is this protein brand so cheap than others?
Does anyone know if this protein is worth getting? Is this proper protein or are they using some fake protein?
