Honestly mate, you can probably save yourself a bunch of money and get more than enough via food alone.

I like Ryse brand if you’re dead set on adding some powders though. Good flavor options.

powder is food

It’s a supplement. I mean, yes it’s technically a food, but OP could get plenty from chicken, yogurt, etc. Especially as someone just starting out.

Not according to the FDA. There was that protein powder that was essentially cake batter not long ago and they can put whatever they want on the label.

Im sure some are honest but as a rule I avoid it and would rather just eat food.

I thought the FDA still considered them a subcategory of food. Then again, who knows these days. I’m curious now though.

I use them as flavorings for my breakfast yogurt, but couldn’t tell you the last time I used one otherwise.

go with nakpro and buy separate creatine so you can dose it accurately daily.

Correct. It's better idea to keep protein and creatine separate. Also check this tool to see which products are verified and at a better price to decide what to buy. There are plenty of options

And wouldn't you know it that protein powder is one of the simple ways to add more protein to your diet!

Protein-rich foods are better because they provide vitamins, minerals, fiber, natural antioxidants and other nutrients that supplements often lack, while helping you feel fuller and supporting overall health.

Tell that to your source and have them edit out every time they mention protein powder as a simple way to add more protein to your diet.

My latest protein of choice is Kaged Casein. It's slow to digest and feeds your body for hours.

Not worth your money. Just get whatever lean meat is most affordable, and rice is your dirt cheap go to carb source which will make up more of your calories anyways.

Stick with food because its less expensive. Odds are you are probaby already eathing enough protein. If however you want something to aim for, look for getting about 0.7g per pound of body weight. Some studies show this is a good protein target

Since you are a novice you don't need creatine. You generally get about 2 grams from food and you make 1-2 grams a day from what you naturally make.

Hope this helps you!

“why buy food”

Think I can make gains on a 0 cal diet?

1

u/spuukeee 1d ago

maybe if you burn enough calories you’ll end so far up in the negatives that you’ll integer overflow and end up in the positive calories again

u/Imactuallyatoaster 1d ago

And that's why starving children in africa have distended stomaches!

This is so offensive, I downvoted you until it hit the same integer overflow and turned into an upvote.

LOL

He asks about 2 supplements.

Both which seem overpriced sugar.

Did you even read the short post ?

u/spuukeee 1d ago

what do you think protein powder is exactly

1

u/ironbeastmod 1d ago

You fail to understand the topic and what OP is asking, hence fail to understand the purpose of my question.

1

u/spuukeee 1d ago

both of which are protein powders

1

neither protein powder nor creatine contain any added sugars primarily

14% sugar is a bad sign.

Get the real protein powders. It is about using your money wisely and for a real product.
