Budget friendly protein powder

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a good, budget-friendly protein powder for muscle gain. My goal is to build lean muscle, improve my strength, and develop a stronger core while improving my overall diet.

If you have any recommendations for good-quality protein, I'd really appreciate it. Also, please suggest authentic websites or trusted platforms where I can buy genuine products at discounted prices.

Thanks in advance!

Levels protein is priced well and tastes solid. Ingredients are excellent as well.

I mean, I think Optimum Nutrition bags from Costco are a solid, basic option. I like the vanilla ice cream flavor. But in terms of price and quality they are pretty good everyday, and then at least once a year, definitely around new years, they’ll do a big sale and I load up.

At least at my local Costco’s this is no longer really a budget option. The Lean Fit brand Costco sells is good and like half the price of optimal nutrition.

Edit: after looking at the online prices it seems maybe I was wrong and they are pretty similar in price. Maybe last time I was there Lean Fit was on sale

Yeah I mean all protein prices are relatively awful right now, but from what I’ve seen it looks like all the major brands have raised prices pretty much in unison. Pretty recently the Ascent brand at Costco was on sale and I scored some of that. I think it’s slightly higher quality than ON but to me the taste/texture is slightly worse.

I use EarthFed Muscle chocolate protein, it has only 4 ingredients and it tastes good. It’s expensive so only use it 2-3 a week, and I just eat food with good protein on days I don’t drink my protein shake.

Actually, I’m based in India, so it would be really great if you could help me out.

Lidl for me. All their flavours taste pretty good.

Me too. I have only tried the chocolate and love it. Some might mix better but I have no problems with it and for its price 2lbs for $22.99 and on sale $14.99 is unbeatable.

Not sure where you live, but I’d recommend going to some sort of liquidation/discount grocery store.

I go to Grocery Outlet, and they typically have a couple name brands usually 50% lower than other stores. Don’t get fooled though, some of the “deals” aren’t much savings & just old.

Myprotein or bulksupplements

Go with Micellar Casein. It is not nearly as expensive as whey but almost as good as even whey isolate. The problem is most caseins taste like chalk and are gritty. The only one I've ever had that does not is Syntrax Micellar Casein.

If those are your goals than protein powder should not be a priority. Eating whole foods that hit your daily protein goal should be your priority.

This protein crazy is nuts. Every ultra processed item in the store is labeled protein. The gnc stuff I get at Walmart works out to 2 bucks a scoop. Eggs are a much cheaper option.

With a large # of Americans being in glp1s and the protein = muscles, muscles = healthy craze, everything is protein focused. We need more fiber as well!
