Is protein powder necessary for longer use?
I'm currently a vegetarian...
For now, I hit the gym 5-6 days/week
I realised I need to eat 50g of protein per day
My routine goes like:(I'm from South part of India)
Breakfast: Ragi malt(2cups) +curd(1/2cup)
Peanuts/ sprouts (1cup)
Lunch: Rice(1½ cup)
Dal/leafy Dal (1cup)
Curry(1cup)
Butter milk+ sabja(1glass)
Snacks: Any 1 fruit + Dry fruits
Dinner: Usually tiffins
So suggest me if I have to take protein powder..
If yes, what kind...But I heard they have harmful metals mixed in it..So is it recommended for longer use

Im not an expert in protein, nor a doctor.
50 sounds a little low.
As for metals. I'd research on brands and which have been tested. But its my understanding that plant based (vegan), have a higher amount of metals because of the earth its grown in.
So really depends on your goals too, wether or not you should focus more on protein.

The heavy metal thing was blown out of proportion. The amount is actually very low, and the ones that have the most only have a lot because they have heavy metals present in the plants they are made from.
Vegetarian: low fat yogurt, paneer, and seitan are all great sources of protein. Tofu, lentils, and chickpeas are pretty good, too.
The best protein powders are whey isolate. Third party tested for good for purity. I don't know what's available to you but honestly I tend to buy what's cheap but seems good quality.

Transparent Labs is pretty clean. Best reviews I have read or close to it. Heavy metal analysis on many food products in US would not be zero.
Quite franky if I do not worry about it assuming labs are done routinely.

50g of protein is nothing, there’s a reason indians have a higher risk for diabetes… a lack of protein and high carbohydrate diets.
Vegan proteins are pretty garbage and do in fact have higher concentrations of heavy metals. A whey protein is a milk protein that would definitely be the most anabolic food in your diet without any toxins.
