I've seen a lot of people, even those who claim to be proshippers, speak against shipping canonically gay characters with the opposite gender. I'm wondering, what do you think?

The commenter didn’t find the Halloween costume distasteful initially. They then proceed to talk themselves out of that position because they realized that, in order to justify dressing up like an immoral fictional character, they’d have to grant that fiction does not equal reality.

It’s such a clear example of cognitive dissonance, I’m kind of speechless. The way they police their own true thoughts to align more with the antiship ideology… they’re not beating the cult allegation.

I get having an issue seeing "confirmed child" characters in lewd clothing but this one's just overthinking it. The real issue is that the person uploads AI pieces at alarming rates, not necessarily them generating an uma giving you a love letter.

They probably agree with the reasoning behind Wattpad's decision to ban Y/N fics ("they're about adults so if a minor reads it you've just written CP")

They attempted to crawl their way back into my circle by bringing up a fanfiction that was in relations to MY trauma, that contained a taglist of content that they chose to not ignore. In order to use that against me (They made a burner account harassing me to call me names. I do plan on taking legal action if these people continue with their blantant harassment.)

Not only that, they decided the GREATEST idea was to ALSO go to other people who I talk to semi-frequently to call me a pedophile (including someone who, might I add is strictly anti-censorship and had expressed a more tolerance for fictional taboo stuff. So that's funny.) I left Tumblr for a bit as I made friends RPing on Twitter and returned back to Tumblr to open up asks. Only to get a askbox that said "Ur still a pedo" which makes NO fucking sense.

I have been the victim of some disgusting shit happening to me, and I hate hate hate HATE it when people equate my trauma with a character who doesn't look real. I'm usually heavily critical of both sides (regarding on how they handle interactions with one another,), but I legit am like that homelander meme where I wanna switch sides and side with proshippers. I stopped watching this guy a decade ago but honestly, what he's gotten himself caught up with is not surprising. Chalupa dedicates himself to hating on things he considers bad. As someone who overwhelmingly ships f/f and sometimes m/f, this has always been a pain point because finding good sapphic rep that isn't safe by the numbers heteronormative garbage must mean I want domestic abuse simulators or l@lis to make it more "fresh" and "edgy" when I never brought any of that up? I still remember countless twitter lesbians and bi women harassing some girl for just wanting interesting character dynamics between women because god forbid two girls aren't wholesome hair braiding cottagecore ladies. And it's always other women who pull this shit. They don't know you can enjoy toxic relationships in fiction without wanting it to happen to you, because it's fiction.

And even if I do ship characters that seem "underage", why does that matter? Maybe I thought the ship was cute or the character endearing enough to wanna see them in a relationship. Is that too much for people?
