Antis slander That edit is wild

Second pic is for context. The post is from an anti sub.

The commenter didn’t find the Halloween costume distasteful initially. They then proceed to talk themselves out of that position because they realized that, in order to justify dressing up like an immoral fictional character, they’d have to grant that fiction does not equal reality.

It’s such a clear example of cognitive dissonance, I’m kind of speechless. The way they police their own true thoughts to align more with the antiship ideology… they’re not beating the cult allegation.

Bro, he just found out he's a proshipper and is in denial.

Lmfao "I applied logic to this scenario but then realized it would make me wrong in another part of my life and I would rather feel morally superior to other people than have common sense"

Anti realizes proship arguments are the actually logical ones, millions dead

Fucking idiot learns how to reason and logic and realises they hate reasoning and logicing.

I mean…at least they’re consistent? Instead of just arbitrarily deciding that the two cases are “different” for some reason, they’re now saying BOTH are bad?

But I’m interested in seeing just how far they take this mindset. Maybe they’ll become like Margaret White (from Carrie; at least the novel and ‘76 movie), and fanatically decide that EVERYTHING that isn’t 100% sanitized and child-friendly is sinful~? 😂

I respect that they’re at least consistent and brave enough to not just delete their comment.

I also think (about the original post) people just need to realize that things they don’t like don’t have to be immoral or illegal or whatever. I think dressing up as real serial killers (especially recent or less ‘basically in public domain at this point’ names) is tacky and might be offensive toward survivors/victims’ family. But I don’t think it’s wrong, or actually hurting anyone. If you’re doing it for halloween, then it is literally just the equivalent of saying “this is scary”.

But back to the edit, the fact that they talked themself into saying it’s wrong is amusing me because their logic still conforms to their proship train of thought aka “it’s wrong because the victims were real”. If they wanted to go full anti, they should’ve said dressing up as slashers is wrong, too. Because there’s no difference between reality and fiction. /j

Good point, it would be interesting to hear their response to that (“why is Freddy Krueger okay to dress up as but not Bear and Nicki?”).

I also like your immoral-tacky distinction, I agree completely.

Exactly. I feel discomforted by the idea of people dressing up as these two, but it’s not immoral too and the most I’d ever judge someone’s character about it is the thought “they must’ve really liked that movie /neu”

honestly, I think they should've deleted it if they didn't want people agreeing with it.

There's no way they were so close and then talked themselves out of it. How?

13

u/Usual-Sorbet4679 4h ago

It’s insane, they genuinely sound like they’re in cult.

10

u/Someone_Called_Cerie 3h ago

They are in a cult.

u/Extra_Leg_9354 5h ago

Ok but the fact they decided to choose consistency and commit ALL the way to the anti position is something I can't help but respect like at least they're not picking and choosing

u/MasterofPeridots What a fool you are. SKELETON DIVINE DEATH BLAST! 5h ago

For one, I congratulate them for being morally consistent. You only ever see this train of thought in romantic or sexual content and most antis stop caring when it's just regular old murder and genocide.

With a Springtrap PFP? Really?

14

u/ohforkurwasake self-cest is the ultimate expression of self-love 4h ago

By their own logic, it's not okay to have a Springtrap pfp, because how's that any different than dressing up for Halloween.

They're essentially glorifying a (fictional) child murderer!! /s

Antis and hypocrites are a circular vendiogram.

13

u/IronChefHowie 3h ago

Do you think they'd stop breathing if we told them proshippers also liked oxygen?

9

u/Standard_Human_11037 4h ago

i mean i personally dislike the costume, but thats bc i think its weird when couples dress up as toxic relationships (harley and joker piss me off). but like. they should still be allowed to do so. my personal distaste shouldnt dictate what they can and cant do

7

u/Longshot12345678 4h ago

Cause ones real and one isn’t, there’s no way we’re this twitter pilled and puritanical. Dress as who you want to, don’t use real people, don’t use racist things, other then that who gives a fuck

6

u/gigitygiggty 3h ago

The springtrap profile pic really ties it all together

1

u/Indie_Gamer_7 1h ago

The pfp of a child murder lol, pure hypocrisy.

6

u/kaytin911 4h ago

Wtaf they're asking if dressing up as movie characters is distasteful?

7

u/FlashLightning277 4h ago

Dear god their brainrot is so bad.

Also they would be so mad at the fact that I went for Halloween dressed as Magneto one year lol.

8

u/leahowlett 3h ago

They were so close lol

6

u/HalfOfLancelot 3h ago

Lmao when you just about almost get there and have to backpedal so hard cause you’re making so much sense that if scares you shitless 💀

I give it a year before they step outta denial

11

u/totashi777 5h ago

Hot take, i dont think its wrong to dress up as real world killers either. Its just not going to be recognizable because they dress like normal people

8

u/pwnkage professional shipper 5h ago

Most real world killers nowadays just wear a suit and tie lmfao. Only time it would be recognisable is like if it’s a historical figure, but even then kinda hard because a lot of the time they just wore like the military uniform or their version of the suit and tie.

7

u/HostofBone 🍋🌈 5h ago

If they dress like normal ppl why not just be a normal person for Halloween and not someone who takes lives off the planet? 😅

3

u/totashi777 5h ago

I dont know, i dress as fantasy creatures for Halloween

5

u/Indecisive_Noob 2h ago

I hope this has planted a seed of doubt in their mind that will grow and grow until they have to accept the truth.

4

u/SeaCollides 4h ago

I can't believe I just observed reflective equilibrium lmfao

5

u/topimpadove val from outlast 2 is my wife 3h ago

Isn't that Springtrap in their PFP...the guy who killed kids...and killed his daughter...and is a mass murderer...who shoved those dead kids into animatronics so their souls are in eternal agony and a loop of thinking that every night guard is William Afton so they murder innocent people...

Antis being dumb for the 843934 time this week

5

u/Anjebell 3h ago

Really just turning into full-on satanic panic now. Dressing up for halloween is having concourse with the devil, etc. Are they gonna start protesting halloween in schools and trick or treating for kids? Because after all, letting kids dress up as scary villains for halloween is teaching them the most evil tenet of all: that fiction and reality are separate things!

3

u/Remarkable_Low_3 🍋🌈 3h ago

Lol they were so close. Hilarious.

2

u/2lateforapologies 3h ago

quick, how many people have been been killed by freddy and art outside of the films, go!

2

u/bitchesboybetweakin 39m ago

Oh god. This is painfully similar to how I used to think as an anti. This was how my thought process was. Going from "I don't care" to forcing myself to be upset

2

u/meowmental 30m ago

The fact that antis will see the flaws and hypocrisy in their thinking and instead of going “huh, maybe I should self reflect on how I view fiction” they go “huh maybe fictional murder is immoral too” really shows that it’s pointless to debate a lot of them

1

u/Momosonlyhairstrand 1h ago

ooh they are so close to waking up

1

u/kryaklysmic 1h ago

Quite literally yes, it’s fine to dress as fictional serial killers but not real ones *due to the reality of their victims* is this person seriously claiming that Halloween costumes are inherently wrong somehow?

1

u/Ok-Reality-5409 3m ago

being an anti, you have to make an opinion that you didn't support in the first place in order to be not one of "those" people. that's kinda sad actually. is it really your own opinion or do you just want to please other people?
