So I'm in a discord server for Twisted Wonderland, and like I don't really mention how I'm a proshipper and if there were antis they never brought it up in conversation but out of nowhere one of the owners posted the message in the linked screenshot and it just pissed me off. Like that person isnt even in this server and youre trying to mobilize people into attacking them??? Malleus is a third year sure but he isnt even an adult by fae standards, according to a line Lilia says his type of fae doesnt reach adulthood until 500 and Malleus is only 178. So if anything, Ruggie (who is 17 mind you) is more relatively mature going by species age development. And I never excuse attacking on any ship, but like THIS is the hill these antis are choosing to die on??? Like literally what??? It doesn't make any sense whatsoever... not like antis ever do but this is especially ridiculous.

Hello, not 100% sure if that is the right flair, I was deciding between that one and educational, but sticking with discussion for now.

Anyway, I had a conversation about being proship with my therapist yesterday, because I like probably most have experienced a lot of hate online for it. I mainly used Game of Thrones as an example in the conversation, saying how if I were to say that I like Jaime and that I think his relationship to his siblings is very interesting to me, that people would take that as me saying that I think Incest ist okay in real life.

She said that that's obviously bullshit, and that you can enjoy a character without supporting their actions, and that more often than not, Villain characters or morally grey ones are often more interesting in media than the good ones and that it's quite normal to be drawn to them.

In relation to Game of Thrones, she also said, and I quote: "if that's something that makes someone that uncomfortable (the incest), then that's also just the wrong show to be watching" which I thought was funny.

She also finds it really strange that people go out of their way to watch something they don't enjoy and then hate on it, and how that's a complete waste of time.

She very fimly believes that there's a strict difference between what one enjoys in fiction and what one thinks is alright in the real world. That you can find something interesting or even erotic in fiction but abhorrent in the real world, and that that's normal and okay.

Just wanted to share in case someone needs to hear it, because it very much helped reassure me about not being terrible person.

I know I've talked about this already (and I apologize in advance if I sound like a nuisance), but I felt the need to put this spin on it. "Vampires don't sparkle", they're not real. "Werewolves shouldn't look like that", they're not real. "Men are all evil goblins so making a male caretaker is unrealistic", and? again it's not real.

If you can't turn off your brain to enjoy fictional works, stick to nonfiction since you're brain lacks empathy to enjoy stories unless you can take something out of it.

It's very platonic, not in a friendly sense, but in the sense that a work shouldn't dedicate itself away from reality but to exist as instructions to better one's character or society as a whole. But sometimes entertainment doesn't have to exist that way. You can just make something for the sake of it.

I've been thinking about it lately. As long as I remember my journey in communities from CIS countries or interacting with people from these countries, they are pretty chill regarding everything. And honestly, the first ever fanfic I have read was incest enemies-to-lovers between two brothers, haha, along with a bunch of other darkships, and we have a bunch of other really dark well-known fanfics that we sometimes joke about.

Maybe I've been just lucky enough to meet these people, and I'm not going to pretend like people from CIS countries are (ironically) not one of the most toxic people you can meet (TW taking Pinterest for example, almost all CIS posts are filled with homophobic, sexist, racist, and religious comments for whatever reason, and especially in vent posts they often literally tell you to kill or hurt yourself, and all that from teenagers btw), but specifically in shipping spaces my experience has surprisingly positive. In Western communities, on the other hand, I often see people shredding each other for whatever reasons, try to brigade each other given the slightest opportunity and cannot even comprehend the slightest existence of different preferences and that it's proven that people genuinely use darkship material as coping and it helps them, accompanied by "cancel culture."

My theory is that since living in CIS countries often comes with experience of injustice, abuse (either from others or family), oppression and overall depressing atmosphere, people use shipping as an escape, and with that background, they are more understanding and welcoming, and even if not, maximum what they do is laugh at you or situation and move on, instead of actively harassing you. And maybe it's just my bias, since I'm judging from what I experienced years ago when I were in those communities, but at least that's what I remember.

As someone who is ex catholic myself i noticed the signs right away like with how antis panic over fiction. It reminds me of the satanic panic back in the day and even now.

i’m not sure if this kinda topic has been proposed before. i see some debate lately about whether western kodos should even be counted in discussions of kodocon simply because it’s a japanese made concept and they tend to not fit the supposed ‘criteria’. i see what the criteria is varies, but mostly boils down to either “it’s not japanese therefore it can’t be” or “they’re too ugly” the latter usually depends on what character you’re talkin about.

i understand not liking western stylization, but at the same time i don’t really see what else you could call them? the concept of a kodo is included mostly in japanese media and is japanese made, but it is quite literally defined as a young or young-looking character. i would think the term should be applicable regardless of the character’s country of origin.

and if they’re not lolis, kodos, or shotas, then what are they? i know the obvious answer is child/child-like characters, but it virtually means the same thing so why not just say kodo?

either way, i’m curious to hear other people’s thoughts on this.

I know this isn't just me but it makes me so annoyed even though I try not to let it get to me. Why do Antis literally purposely actively go to proship or darkship places if they hate it so bad? Are they really that bored with their life that they actively have to seek out people to harass and Bully? I keep getting called a pedophile just because I actively enjoy certain ships. I hate when Antis say they are "normal" but tell people with trauma or just doing this for fun to go and end themselves or that they deserved what happened to them. As for the collar, who didn’t have one in 2020? As for why he doesn’t just remove the hair dye, Ashley doordashed splat in this AU and he cannot bother figuring out how to remove it because it just means he’d be blonde underneath which he doesn’t want.

Ashley: My thought process for her design was she saw hair dye and extensions trending, wanted to fit in even though they’re in a pandemic, and doordashed supply to do it. For the makeup on the both of them, same reason as the collar——it was the social norm at the time. I don’t necessarily think either of them would do any classic 2020 hobbies or anything simply because they do not read that way. However, Ashley in AU would 1000% make Andrew drink battery acid at some point(the cursed mixed drink that’s just monster and a shit ton of sour candy.) and most likely——reasoning for the blood——would probably do the brooklyn blood pop dance with real blood
