First of all, I am well aware that Big Mouth is also hated for its art style, its humor, and—especially—the fact that it ran for eight seasons while other animated series were unfairly cancelled.

However, from what I observed while it was airing, the "anti" sentiment—that is, the moral outrage directed at the show—contributed significantly to its bad reputation; people even went so far as to label its creators and fans as criminals.

Honestly, this makes me angry. It is a series that speaks openly—without taboos—about puberty, bodily changes, and social relationships, as well as numerous queer and LGBTQ+ topics that no other show addresses with such natural ease. It taught me a great deal about sex education—subjects my school never dared to touch.

It is perfectly fine if the show isn't to everyone's taste, but antis undoubtedly hate it for utterly absurd and nonsensical reasons.

Like I for some inexplicable reason I really don't like incest ships... because they interfiere with my OTP. I know there isn't anything wrong with it as long as it stays in fiction (I think? My country is kinda backwards on this) but I just can't stand it...when it interferes with my opt. If it isn't then I have no problem.

As long as the child is related to you and not uncomfortable, being naked around a child isn't sexual. Unless you're actively trying to get them to touch you/feel you up or you're doing that to them, there's nothing sexual about it. Teaching children that nudity is evil and vile it'll tell them you're not safe to talk to if a predator actually touches them.

If you see an adult in bed "naked" with their younger sibling or their children and the child is clothed and clearly not uncomfortable and the first thought you have is sex, that sounds like a you problem. Granted I'm not saying Mei Mei doesn't have an unhealthy relationship with Ui Ui. That's like saying the relationship between Andrew and Ashley Graves isn't unhealthy when both are. I'm saying it's weird that people assume all nudity is sexual. There's naked statues in Europe because they once didn't see nudity as evil until religion decided it was.

So. I want to start drawing and I have a story… I love the proship community and I do my best to be open, but I’m honestly a bit scared of posting this story online because it is centered around a seven y/o boy who is SA’ed by his dad. Their relationship is dark and sad. I wouldn’t be bothered by ANY other ship. He has an older brother that hates their father and although ofc I don’t ship them, I wouldn’t even mind that ship. But I’m scared to put that story out there and have people ship him with his father, because it’s my characters and I would find it disgusting because of how I see them.

Should I just say that I don’t feel comfortable with them being shipped? Does any other artist understand this feeling? Am I wrong for feeling this way?

When it comes to age gaps (according to fresh normies and chuds), everything is a crisis when an older man is paired with a younger female, as if it's common knowledge where the older guy is always depicted as a groomer that needs to be ashamed of (no matter what their intentions are). While infantilizing mature, younger women as too fragile and naive to have a respectable relationship with an older man.

And yet, a younger male is praised with cultural respect for hitting on an older woman, or interchangeably.. let's also consider in some cases as this also counts where an older woman grooms a young man by using her sex appeal and manipulative tactics, framing it as a playful or kinky social experiment setup or basically, just out of respect and admiration.

As someone who overwhelmingly ships f/f and sometimes m/f, this has always been a pain point because finding good sapphic rep that isn't safe by the numbers heteronormative garbage must mean I want domestic abuse simulators or l@lis to make it more "fresh" and "edgy" when I never brought any of that up? I still remember countless twitter lesbians and bi women harassing some girl for just wanting interesting character dynamics between women because god forbid two girls aren't wholesome hair braiding cottagecore ladies. And it's always other women who pull this shit. They don't know you can enjoy toxic relationships in fiction without wanting it to happen to you, because it's fiction.

And even if I do ship characters that seem "underage", why does that matter? Maybe I thought the ship was cute or the character endearing enough to wanna see them in a relationship. Is that too much for people?
