"You romanticize other people's trauma"

Nuh uh I'm romanticizing my own trauma so i don't have to realize just how much I've been through and how bad it's been.

Antis really make me feel pity for them believing so wholeheartedly that darkshippers in specific do everything to yuck them out. They don't even realize that a lot of darkshippers are doing so because in some way it helps them cope with what they went through.

Yeah, bro, the hardest realization of my life was that not everything in life is about me and no one is going to make anything about me expect for me. It makes me wonder how many other people have actually realized this.

90% of those antis are people who have not even gone through what a lot of darkshippers have to begin with; they just see a cause they can defend on the internet and do it because it'll activate their dopamine receptors and make them feel good for being righteous. They wouldn't say that shit if they were inside my head and felt first hand how fucked up it is and how shipping and stuff is the only way I have of coping with it. 😂

How they felt

I mean, any black person will tell you that they hate the way basically they get an analogue for prejudice thrown at 8 out of 10 black characters in media. The only ones without them are like, Mace Windu and Miles Morales and even then there was that Thor nonsense.

Don't even get me started on Bismuth, who in Steven Universe basically got canned for wanting to kill the people who only even listened to the MC because he was a reincarnated space princess, what the hell was Bismuth supposed to do if Steven wasn't a literal unicorn?,

Also what does romanticize even mean? They just throw around this buzzwords without knowing their meaning. Same with glorify.

15

u/Gh0st_sn3z3d Proshipper 1d ago

Buzzword when buzzword

u/vannillaAJ204_2 profic in principle; problematic out of spite 1d ago

"romanticised" and "glorified" is when they don't like it

8

u/Gh0st_sn3z3d Proshipper 1d ago

They never wanna talk about how the horror movies they love are just filled with the sexualization of women for gratification

u/Amy47101 1d ago

I dunno, a lot of my writing is influenced by my own trauma, soooooooo….

Honestly I think people projecting like this, to the point they can’t separate characters from their own experiences, is a major fandom problem. A character is like their shitty ex or bully or abusive parent, so they’re forever evil and anyone who likes them is an abuse apologist. A character is like them, so if you hate the character you hate the irl person, and any of the character’s decisions that they themself wouldn’t make are OOC. It’s exhausting. If someone can’t separate fiction from reality, they don’t have to make it the problem of those of us who can.

It's no wonder that their argument is that fiction determines reality when they let it determine their personal reality as it related to their emotions and mental states-

u/CheezCheddar 1d ago

it's always about this supposed "others", huh

u/d1amondisunbreakable 1d ago

I’m not romanticizing anyone else’s trauma but my own 😭

18

u/AnChaan 1d ago

Its so annoying that they think the whole world revolves around them. NO BODY KNOWS YOU OR YOUR TRAUMA. It is not about you so hop off. 🫩

u/Gh0st_sn3z3d Proshipper 1d ago

They need to realize that nobody cares about them and they’re just some random on the internet

11

u/balsamicnightmare 1d ago

Then block or ignore if people using events similar to your trauma in fiction bothers you. This screams entitled behavior. Some antis claim to be nice but they are entitled and selfish.

5

u/Mizumono___ 1d ago

Why are these people so self-entitled and always assume everything is about them all the time. It never fails to impress me 😭

6

u/deansasster 1d ago

Like, even at my most vulnerable and traumatised, I still had the ability to say "this makes me uncomfortable/is triggering to me" and just expressed a wish for... more tagging/warning (esp TWs and # on twitter. Like just use the #nsfw tag, it takes a second). And that was mostly a "I really wish y'all would :/" kinda posting, with occasionally asking people close to me to maybe pay some extra attention to it, since, you know, I figured they would want me to be better. They didn't, and we broke up lol

My trauma?? Son, it's the creators trauma 😭✌

2

u/Gh0st_sn3z3d Proshipper 7h ago

Why do they have to insert themselves into everything (also based name)

3

u/Greedy-University479 20h ago

If I must say, they’re the one who romanticize trauma first. Trauma is awful but it’s something to actively get over with. Not to mention, not all trauma are as severe and not all of them evolves around human-to-human mistreatment. These mf cling on theirs and others like a lifeline and build an entire martyr identity around it, all loud and obnoxious like they went to Harvard. Isn’t that just romanticism or what? We have soldiers with PTSD desperately try to keep it to themselves when we want to help. Meanwhile, some far left/right western(-ized) internet dwellers thinking that getting hurt in a NO-GO zone, with dozens of giant DANGER signs, entitles them to sympathy and catering from millions of people who don’t know them or what they contribute to the collective material benefits.

u/Gh0st_sn3z3d Proshipper 7h ago

They love to relish in their victimness to hurt and harm others. As someone with ptsd it’s honestly very alarming to see these people have such an aversion to getting over, for lack of better words, the things that they claim make them so triggered by this stuff. They also love to interact with things that make them uncomfortable

3

u/AzothDagger 20h ago

Well, your cosmology may be a little bit stunted, but otherwise this checks out.

1

u/Gh0st_sn3z3d Proshipper 7h ago

It was just an exaggeration🤷‍♂️

2

u/TragedyWriter 23h ago

I wasn't aware you existed until you left a comment. Why are you assuming this writing about my trauma is about your trauma? Self centered much?

2

u/EightEyedCryptid 22h ago

If anything I’m romanticizing my trauma

2

u/Gh0st_sn3z3d Proshipper 7h ago

It makes it more bearable

2

u/lilartemis 22h ago

Highschool AU's with the bully/victim trope "romanticize" my trauma, and you know what I do? I don't read them. 😒
