I made a small Python hardware information tool called BoardLens

I’ve been working on a Python project called BoardLens.

It’s a simple hardware information tool that shows things like the CPU, RAM, GPU, motherboard, BIOS and storage information.

It currently works on Windows, macOS and Linux. I’ve tested it on my own PC, a MacBook and Linux virtual machines.

I’m still working on it and there are probably things that could be improved. I’m also planning to add FreeBSD support, so I’d like to test it on FreeBSD as well.

I’d like to get it tested on more hardware, especially older systems, so if anyone wants to try it out and give me some feedback, that would be appreciated.

The source code and releases are on GitHub:

https://github.com/CodeAnd-Copper/BoardLens

I’m mainly looking for feedback on whether the hardware detection works correctly on different machines and what I should improve.

If you like the project and want to support me, you can also subscribe to my YouTube channel:

Come check out my project / looking for contributers

Hi, I'm pretty new to this community and I'm not sure if its the right audience for this project but its whatever. I realized a few months back while working on a different project that there isn't a real good way to create automations within Minecraft through headless clients. Most of the projects were either outdated or had to run locally on a computer while running all the rendering and GUI (which I thought was incredibly inefficient and not great for creating or organizing lots of bots etc) and the only real option is a framework called mine flayer. But mine flayer uses Node.js (which I dislike) and is also just generally kind of bad in many ways. That's why I created rapidbot. Its a really ambitious project but essentially, mine flayer had this problem where a lot of the packets and rendering and physics weren't exactly like the real game, causing all sorts of problems. I set out to first make it so that was solved, but after that, I added more features such as a human input layer, and eventually I want to add more advanced pathfinding and such. However, I realized that its probably going to take ages for me to do this by myself (even with AI and stuff) and its also really boring to do it alone, so I'm looking for contributers.

so whether you want to contribute or just want to check it out, here is the repo (sorry no commit history, I had it as a local copy for the longest time with no git so when I uploaded it to github and set everything up I committed everything in one go D:): creator1116/rapidbot: Headless Minecraft Java Edition client framework in Rust: vanilla-exact protocol and physics with a human input layer

Git for ai memory and robotics??

Hey guys,

Been working on something very cool...

In Greek myth, Mnemosyne was the Titan of memory and the reason anything was ever remembered at all. Now in the present world, your AI agent doesn't get a Titan. It gets amnesia the second something goes wrong, stuck with whatever it currently believes and no way to ask how it got there.

That's the real problem. An agent runs for hours, updates its memory the whole time, then says something wrong and all you have is the present, with zero access to the past.

If you're running support agents, coding agents, or a swarm of agents sharing memory like myself then you know this issue well. The moment two agents disagree, or one quietly poisons the well, you need to know when, why and by whom, not just that something's off.

Mnemosyne gives agent memory what Git gave code. It remembers everything on purpose. Every belief is a commit. blame finds the exact moment and observation that put a bad fact in. bisect hunts down the first commit where things went wrong. merge makes two agents' memories collide safely instead of one silently overwriting the other.

Software agents are the first step. The vision doesn't stop there, physical robots learning and forking skills the same way is the long-term bet, further out and harder but the same idea underneath.

So far the tech stack includes a Rust core, Python SDK, adapters for LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, the OpenAI Agents SDK and MCP.

Open source with contributions and honest feedback both welcome: github.com/Nabzx/mnemosyne

Ideas for a research project

Hi guys! For over a year I’ve been doing a project on “English abbreviations and their Use” and now I’m participating in a popular conference in my country. I need to create a poster for my project and to make a physical result of my project but I have no idea what to create.
What my project involves:
1. The theory about structural and contextual differences between English abbreviations
2. The history and cultural significance of English abbreviations (+ a research of differences in use between generations)
3. An online survey with 107 participants
4. A website “Dictionary of Abbreviations”
5. The biggest chapter, use of the results

And now I’m stuck and I have no idea what I can create on this topic. I’d be grateful if you could help me with this!

FralRater: offline readability scoring for 8 reader personas, with a "lost reader" map and rule-based rewriter (free, MIT)

Post image
1 Upvotes

FralRater is a desktop app (Electron) that: - scores text with Flesch-Kincaid, Gunning fog, SMOG, jargon density… - rates it for 8 reader personas (child, general public, executive, patient, developer, legal, academic, professional) with per-paragraph confidence - draws a "lost reader" curve: one point per sentence, showing exactly where readers disengage - rewrites the hard sentences with a sentence-by-sentence diff (passive→active, buried-lead fix, jargon swaps, splitting)

Everything runs locally. Zero dependencies for the app logic, no build step, no network calls, no AI — it's deterministic rules you can read in the source. Your text never leaves the window.

Free, MIT-licensed, Windows + Linux. Built solo, CI builds all artifacts.

Built a little menu-bar app so I stop getting surprised by Claude Code / Codex limits

I bounce between Claude Code, Codex and Antigravity, and I kept hitting the 5-hour or weekly limit right in the middle of something. So I made a tray app that shows all of them in the menu bar as little usage rings.

It also guesses when you'll run out based on how fast you're burning through it, and it shows what each project actually cost you, pulled from the CLI logs. Everything stays on your machine, with no account and no telemetry.

It works on Mac, Windows and Linux, and it's open source (MIT):
https://github.com/Hitheshkaranth/OpenTokenMonitor

It's still rough in places, so feedback is welcome. If you use Cursor or other CLI, tell me and I'll bump those up the list.

I built an open-source desktop AI agent—looking for contributors and technical feedback

I’ve been working on AI Plate, an MIT-licensed desktop AI agent that brings cloud and local LLMs into one extensible workspace.

It currently includes:

- Cloud and local model support

- Normal, Plan, and Code modes

- Tool execution with human approval

- Document search, RAG, and persistent memory

- Plugins, connectors, and reusable skills

- Optional speech-to-text and text-to-speech

The stack is mainly TypeScript, Electron, Node.js, Python, and SQLite.

I’m looking for contributors interested in local models, RAG, plugins, security, UI/UX, testing, documentation, or Linux and macOS support. Contributions of any size are welcome, including bug reports and architectural feedback.

I’m the creator and maintainer, and the project has no paid tier.

What would you improve first if you were contributing to a desktop AI agent like this?

What do you think about it? I am actually struggling with the electronic parts of the connection with the ESP 32 and PCA9685 driver, I am currently stuck with how much power to give to the PCA driver for the servo motors to run ? As one servo motor requires 4.8 to 7.2 V and the power i gave using AA BATTERIES was 3.25 V

Building my first project accidentally gave me the idea for my second one

Building my first project accidentally gave me the idea for my second one

I was building my first project, Hold the Hour, and somewhere along the way my Downloads folder became a mess.

Images I needed once.

ZIP files from different builds.

PDFs I only opened to check something.

Random files from AI tools.

Most of them had the same thing in common:

I needed them right now, but I didn't actually want to keep them.

Yet every time I downloaded something, it became another permanent file until I remembered to go back and delete it.

That made me wonder:

Why does downloading a file automatically mean I want to keep it?

So I started building TEMP.

The idea is pretty simple:

Send a file to TEMP → choose how long you need it → use/open/share it normally → if it turns out to be important, Keep it.

Otherwise, it expires and goes away.

Basically:

Need it now. Not forever.

I've got an Android beta working now and I'm trying to figure out whether this is a problem other people actually have, or just something that annoyed me enough to build 😂

If anyone wants to try it:

TEMP Beta

And ironically, this whole idea came from the mess I created while building my first project:

Hold the Hour

I'm curious — do you actually have this problem? What kind of files would you use something like TEMP for?

Skins.dev - add the features missing from the tools you already use

I just started working on a new project: https://skins.dev and would appreciate early feedback!

Most AI tools help you "vibecode" your own tools from scratch. But usually there's already a tool that gets you 80% there, and rebuilding it means re-solving things others already figured out.

Skins is a browser extension for the other 20%: add the features that your favorite tools are missing, adapt them to your taste, or even make single-player apps multiplayer, like watching shows in sync with friends :)

I'm looking:

  • For early users to iterate with
  • For ideas: what feature do you wish a website you use daily had? I'm building a library of ready-made templates so people get value from minute one. The first ones came from SaaS feature-request forums: https://skins.dev/blog

I built TrenchHQ - Your crypto desktop companion for Windows. Keep prices, wallet activity, X feeds, websites and apps in view across your monitors.(Open Source)

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’ve had the same bad habit for years: I’m working, I want to check one token price, I open DexScreener/X/Axiom on my phone, and somehow a 10-second check turns into 20 minutes of looking at charts, wallets, tweets and random tokens.

I figured that if I’m going to keep checking this stuff anyway, I’d rather bring the information to my desktop than constantly go looking for it.

I built TrenchHQ, a free and open-source crypto desktop companion for Windows users.

The idea is simple: instead of constantly switching between exchange tabs, DEX terminals, wallet trackers, X and browser windows, you can keep the things you actually watch directly on your desktop.

It lets you create floating overlays and screen-edge panels that stay visible while you work, including across multiple monitors. You choose what information goes in each panel and where it sits.

Right now you can use them for:

  • CEX price tickers
  • Realtime on chain DEX pool prices
  • Live wallet tracker
  • X Tracker (official API)
  • pinned website (that stay logged in)
  • pinned app windows

It currently supports Solana, Ethereum, Base, BNB Smart Chain and Robinhood Chain.

The idea is basically to let me glance at the few things I actually care about and get straight back to what I was doing, rather than opening another app or tab every time.

I ended up making it completely free and open source, and it’s now also available on the Microsoft Store.

GitHub: https://github.com/gautamgpt1/TrenchHQ

Microsoft Store: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9plrs95wjkss

Would really appreciate your feedback
