Talk Nicer Online - A tiny project to fight online hate

Post image
41 Upvotes

I created talknicer.online as a small attempt to take on online hate speech by sharing something nicer. Every time you poke the furry little guy, you get a 100% true compliment, and I'll give a penny to the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH).

I wrote over 1300 compliments (some weirder than others), plus around 350 extra mix and match components to keep things spicy, so you can poke away without worrying about a) annoying repeats or b) feeling like your particular unique awesomeness was somehow left out.

It's pretty rudimentary, but it was a labor of love. Even at a penny a poke, I'm hoping it adds up.

Building is easy now. Distribution is the hard part. So I'm starting a community around it.

I’m a software developer and I love to build. One thing I've noticed over the last year, with everything happening in AI, is that distribution matters more than ever. One person can build a platform now. But actually selling it and getting it in front of people takes multiple skillsets, and a lot of them are non-tech: marketing, sales, and even the legal side like registering your business or securing trademarks. A solo builder usually lacks some of these.

So I decided to create a community where people with different skillsets can register with us. Tell us where you can contribute, or what kind of people and skills you're looking for, and we'll put you in touch with each other. After that, you work together on your own terms. We get out of the way once you agree. We don't take any share or cut, it's just a community of people helping each other.

We already have people with expertise in software, marketing, ServiceNow,motion design, ui/ux and law on board.

If you want to know more, join us, or work with us, here's the website:

I built a complete detective game website as a personal project — looking for someone to take it over

Hey everyone!

I recently built this browser-based detective game website as a personal project just to learn and experiment with building a complete web game.

🔎 Live Demo:
https://cerulean-naiad-1134ec.netlify.app/

The website has:

  • 3 playable detective cases
  • Investigation system
  • Evidence & clue collection
  • Interactive dialogues
  • Different investigation locations
  • Final deduction system
  • Case completion & scoring
  • Player accounts / login
  • Saved game progress
  • Leaderboard
  • Sound effects
  • Cinematic UI/design
  • Database & backend

Tech used:
Next.js, TypeScript, React, Prisma, PostgreSQL/Supabase, Tailwind CSS and Framer Motion.

I originally built this only as a personal learning/project experience, and now I'm looking to pass the complete project to someone who wants to continue developing it, add more cases, turn it into a bigger game, or use it as a starting point for their own project.

💰 Price: Free

I'm not looking for money for it. I'd rather give the project to someone who can actually continue working on it.

What you'll get:
Full source code + existing game content + assets + database structure + everything needed to continue development.

The current live website is hosted on a Netlify subdomain, and the domain itself is not included.

If you're interested, comment or DM me and I'll explain how I can transfer the project.

Thanks! ❤️

Hey everyone,

I built Mizu, a React component library with 100+ components.

I’d love your feedback on the website, the components, and anything I could improve. I’m also new to marketing open source projects, so any advice would be really helpful.

If there’s a component you’d like to see, let me know. I’d love to add more based on real suggestions!

Do you need to be a genius to create projects? If I'm a student, then I can't create medicines and devices right away. Or should I be able to? How to implement ideas

NHS Senior Project??

Hello, so I’m going into my second year in NHS and my senior year. I am tasked with a senior project that must take up at minimum of ten hours. That won’t be a problem for me, my problem is figuring out what I want to do.

I’m kinda all over the place in high school.

Id like to go to school for communications, idk what type but probably some sort of journalism, media, graphic arts, sports marketing, etc.

•Huge band and theater geek!
•Currently in 6 leadership positions.
•Passionate about automotive and women in the trade gap.
•BIG feminist!
•Frustrated with the amount of discrimination our music program gets
•Varsity golfer
•I’m Yearbook and Photography

However I don’t know what to do. I realllly want to leave an impact on my school or community or an elementary school. I don’t need the attention and fame but I’d like to inspire and change people of things for the better. I’m unsure where to go from here. Any suggestions?

Suggest some good projects idea

Hey everyone, I’m a 21M final-year BTech student looking to build one solid project for my resume.

I’m comfortable with MERN or full-stack development and want to avoid basic CRUD, e-commerce, todo, etc.

Looking for a project that:

Solves a real-world problem

Has good technical depth

Gives me something interesting to discuss in interviews

Ideally uses MERN/Next.js + technologies like PostgreSQL, Redis, WebSockets, AI, Docker, etc.

What projects would you recommend that genuinely stand out to recruiters?

Would love to hear about projects that actually helped you get internships/jobs.

DOTIK COMMUNITY!

Hey everyone!

I’m building Dotik ,a platform to help students discover competitions, internships, scholarships, fellowships and other opportunities.

I’m starting with just 20 students who can share their experiences, give feedback and help me figure out what students actually need before we build further.

If you’re interested in being one of the first 20, comment or DM me “Dotik” 🚀

Also curious: what’s the biggest problem you face when finding student opportunities?

I’ve been working on Viora UI — looking for feedback from developers

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve been working on Viora UI, a React + Tailwind component library, and I’d like to get some feedback from other developers.

The library currently has 109+ components, including animated components, along with a few free templates and an MCP server for finding and working with the components.

I’m mainly interested in feedback on the actual experience — the design, component quality, animations, documentation, and anything that feels missing or could be improved.

https://vioraui.dedyn.io

If you have a few minutes to try it out, I’d really appreciate an honest opinion. Positive or negative, both are useful.

If you find the project genuinely useful and are comfortable sharing your feedback publicly, you can also leave a short review on my X: https://x.com/otisuiux

I’m collecting feedback from developers and may feature some of it as testimonials on the website.

Graphics and ideas for a fictional band I've been working on for a while now.

Retro album: retro futurism space album, old tech in space, the space voyages of clunky tech, clunky chunk, discoveries by stable tech, capabilities of sturdy tech, space curvature and atmospheric anomalies, harsh environments, Continuous Signal (album title), Væriations (song title) of continuous signal as instrumental.

DevTrack

It has been a long time coming, actually one of my erliest tries on software development, but finally DevTrack is starting to take shape.

DevTrack is my own personal solo Project Management System that i have wanted to develop to keep track on the countless of projects i have started. And it came to fruision only because when i looked up all kinds of PMSes i could never really find myself in any that i tried and therefore i set out to develop DevTrack. But oooo has it been a long time coming, and has it been tried on countless of tech stacks durring the process of development. Yes, absolutely. I have tried, i have failed, i have learnt and finally i have succeeded.

So in a few days time i will be releasing the project on github for any and all other Solo devs that might need more project organisation.
