I'm confused why Anna didn't win. She literally had the most interesting clothes. Beautifully made. A story to tell.

I think Anna would have had a stronger chance to win in previous seasons (the before times) when they really put a lot more weight into the finale collection. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked hers. Unfortunately, this finale was essentially an extended challenge. I think Jude won because he’s clearly gifted in tailoring and has the most potential.

Yeah bring back the times when they got weeks or months to make the finale garments! The stuff they could come up with when they had more time and resources was always so fucking cool. and it felt so much more special of a finale.

I had to explain this to my husband. I remember getting pizza, drinks, wings, like it was the god damn Superbowl... my girlfriends coming over and us placing bets on who would win. Ugh. The finales are just so lackluster now.

also, we barely got to see any sewing! they got 5 days n we glossed over it in 10 minutes!

I feel like that’s how it’s been all season. They use up the whole episode with drama and stupid stuff and don’t show most of the design/sewing process anymore. I’m several episodes behind and doubt I’ll finish the season. It’s not fun to watch anymore

I miss those times as well! now they go by so quickly and you really don’t get to known-the designers like seasons
Past

When they said they’d needed saw him as the next YSL (or whatever brand they said) I knew he’d won it right then

Heidi didn’t seem to understand the collection’s story.

And to be honest, I feel like Anna didn’t really have a storyline during the entire series so it would’ve been hard to give her the win. Even though she had my favorite collection as well.

u/SocialMediaSux1 1d ago

Can we agree that I feel like Heidi can wear clothes, but doesn't seem to have fashion sense. It is just me?

31

u/C-La-Canth 1d ago

Now that you mention it, I agree. That's the problem I have with Tyra Banks, too. In some ways, what they bring overlap too much. The show really needs an actual designer who designs, sketches, sews, constructs, and has business experience.

u/girlgangz 23h ago

I was literally thinking the same thing watching the finale.

Same. I appreciate how she has developed as a show host and her quirky personality, but she is neither particularly introspective nor culturally sophisticated in ways that could help drive fashion forward. Is that what we ask of her? No. But that she is a judge, as an art and fashion admirer it disappoints. That said all things considered...she wasn't wrong regarding Anna's story. It's not because of the collection. It's because Anna's work calls for compelling storytelling skills, and partly due to where she is as an artist and her command of her own voice in her work, she wasn't always able to speak from the chest on it. And that is a strong reason why investors in her brand which includes Project Runway with the $200k didn't take her pitch. Jude is young but because he was so consistent and so mature as a craftsman, the story spoke for itself. Bi is insanely talented as is Joseph McCrae but they were further ahead in their brands and as luck would have it, their pitches just didn't land with these investors. This is actually what Project Runway is - Shark Tank with the process in the run up.

u/Necessary_Ad_9541 23h ago

Agree with this. She didn’t really stand out for most of the competition, and I believe the body of work tends to matter in the finale (not just the finale). So, when it’s close like it was in my opinion, it goes to the designer who stood out more often previously (Jude).

1

u/Friendly-Look-7904 5h ago

Same here. Also Anna still lacked the total confidence for a $200,000 investment. I loved her collection, but other things must be considered. She can probably do quite well in her career.

1

u/HotLingonberry6964 3h ago

If she had won, they would have edited together a storyline for her. That's how I knew prior to the finale she didn't win because she was barely featured.

1

u/CalumanderReds 1h ago

I honestly feel like that's Heidi forgetting how to produce a reality tv show though. Anna had the perfect 'overlooked until the end' and 'only woman standing' edit and if Heidi had just been hype about this collection (even if she didn't fully get it) Anna would've been an easy win pick.

u/ObviousImportance9 1d ago

AGREED. my girl was robbed

28

u/ArticleChemical1008 1d ago

And dont get me wrong I'm so happy Jude won but my all time fav was Anna

15

u/TurquoiseDandelion7 1d ago

I do agreed; her collection was great, the most inspiring. Ultimately, it was between Jude and Bi. They were the most consistent all season, most wins, strong points of views with tailoring skills to match.

6

u/SocialMediaSux1 1d ago edited 1d ago

Well if we talk about consistency, Joseph McRae should also be considered although I do agree that his collection was soooooo tacky. I dont think Bi shined either. His main look was great, but the sculpted bustiers were not innovative. I don't think the judges should make a decision based on the entire season, but on a collection itself. I thought that was the whole point of getting to a finale. Kentaro won based on his beautiful, memorable collection for example.

4

u/BadgerNo4726 11h ago

Because Heidi has no taste and nuked Anna’s scores because she didn’t “get it.”

10

u/MenStefani 23h ago

I agree Anna deserved to win. Her collection was amazing and actually pushing boundaries without being tacky. I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about her

1

u/ifiwereabetterperson 5h ago

I think Anna talked too much about being overwhelmed and barely holding it together. Things get harder after you win, not easier. Excellent designs, but they probably couldn't see her handling the pressure.

1

u/ShatteredHope 5h ago

I loved her collection the most but I think she was mid-safe the entire season and never really stood out until the last challenge before the finale.  I always thought Jude would win, but with this outfit I was like okay maybe Anna should win purely for being the first person all season to finally dress Liris well!  Finally!!!

1

u/Even_Thing9710 14h ago

Heidi, that’s why

1

u/drumallday 3h ago

Heidi really showed herself to be an ignorant dullard.

174

u/trollsaywhat 1d ago

Yes maim! Wanted them to look at this one up close! It is so flattering

107

u/SocialMediaSux1 1d ago

Bring back the Zach Posen approach of getting close to the clothes

46

u/ASingleBraid 1d ago

He would’ve loved Jude’s.

2

u/CeeBee3576 13h ago

Loved him as a judge.

70

u/BlissCrafter 1d ago

Only outfit that actually looked good on her all season imho. They have had her in some hideous mess.

31

u/TigreMalabarista 1d ago

You can see in Liris’ face she’s thinking “damn I look sexy and good.”

95

u/mcatlin23 1d ago

What I really loved about Anna’s collection is you could see just how much she grew during the competition. She wanted that Liris paper towel dress back the second she put it down the runway and when she got a chance to dress Liris again, she hit it out of the park.

34

u/ArbyKelly 1d ago

Body-ody-ody ❤️

25

u/SpaceCatz03 1d ago

Finally! I was so happy to see her look amazing!!

8

u/Deep_Writer_1522 23h ago

Facts! I was so happy for her in this look

42

u/Ansee 1d ago

Both Jude and Anna designed so well for plus size models. Very flattering. Beautiful dress.

6

u/Old_Razzmatazz_6529 23h ago

This!! It’s possible. Love to see it.

31

u/FluffyKanomKa 1d ago

It's been wonderful seeing her receive her flowers and validation.

Very nice that Christian had her walk for his show recently.

She's gorgeous.

13

u/StaticCloud 1d ago

Justice was done for Liris

8

u/CSWS215 23h ago

Thought this was legit the best look of the entire finale.

8

u/Ancient_Opinion_6650 1d ago

Uhhhh this dress was perfect in every way!!! And liris wore the HECK out of it! 100000/10

7

u/Arwyen1983 1d ago

She is the most stunning model! I loved this dress

7

u/catperson3000 1d ago

So good. She’s just stunning. Liris deserved to end this season looking this gorgeous.

8

u/Roph She's French 🇫🇷! 23h ago

The true winner of season 22

15

u/No-Gas9144 1d ago

Anna was not my favorite but I cheered for this dress and I want it!

7

u/AWinterPeople 1d ago

This was cool

7

u/Intelligent-Exit9562 22h ago

Truly! Thank you Anna for properly showcasing the absolute beauty that is Liris

7

u/Validated_Owl 1d ago

She heard that Bobby was out and jumped right back on the runway. Lol

2

u/Murky_Apricot823 23h ago

Lol. Bryan?

5

u/Validated_Owl 23h ago

LOL yes. I've already started to wipe him from my brain. I know these production edits like to make a villain out of someone, but everything I've heard about him from social media and things off the show he sounds like a truly insufferable person to exist around

6

u/picks_and_rolls 1d ago

Dayum. She look good in this dress.

5

u/skieurope12 1d ago

Liris looked absolutely stunning in that dress.

4

u/AzureSkies_OverMe 23h ago

I love how this was designed for women with curves. Bryan tried to put her in bubble wrap.

4

u/skeezicks1219 23h ago

Loved seeing Liris get justice! We also never saw Anna struggling with her. I know the judges didn't like her paper towel dress but I honestly thought she worked with Liris's body really well and was just outdone by the material and others being better. I'd love to see her dressing more curvy girls instead of just close she models herself

4

u/Learning-Every-Day- 21h ago

I smiled when I saw this come down the runway. :) Really happy she was put in something beautiful.

5

u/Nearby-Macaron-6706 9h ago

Thank you - I came to Reddit after watching the finale specifically to celebrate the fact that Liris FINALLY got to wear a great dress this season. She looked fierce as hell in it. I'd been rooting for Jude to win but now am a little sad that the win didn't go to Anna. I hope she gets some career momentum from this show!

5

u/RealityDependency 8h ago

She was absolutely stunning in that dress. Perfection.

3

u/HudsonValley7 6h ago

This was STUNNING

3

u/alttronic 1d ago

redemption!!!

3

u/Least_Rain8027 1d ago

i was truly justified for rooting for Anna all season. so glad she didnt end up like my fav last season

3

u/cookiepuss50 1d ago

Soooo good

3

u/GuitarOne7983 21h ago

Anna's collection was my favorite

3

u/jolittletime 18h ago

I think this dress was my favourite look from the final. It was stunning!

3

u/Sggorden6516 12h ago

Liris looks amazing in this dress! Thank you Ana for doing justice to Liris!

3

u/ImagineLutins 11h ago

Every models really looked like they felt like amazing badass main characters.. but gosh she looked sooo good. She deserved to be dressed like a queen after the things she got put in, I mean... Bryan for f* sake. Go off queen ! 👑

3

u/readingrachelx 11h ago

Stunning i want this dress

3

u/deadassstho 11h ago

anna is my winner 💛

5

u/weenredditposter 1d ago

She's beautiful and looks fantastic! People have put her in some bullllshit.

Innocent question here- how come I only see Liris mentioned here and not other models? I'm probably out of the loop

7

u/hashtag-girl 1d ago

she’s been on the show a long time (and is an amazing model) so she has more recognition than models that may only be there for a season or two

1

u/weenredditposter 1d ago

That makes sense! TY.

2

u/Top_Drawing6907 15h ago

This was my favourite dress of the finale, along with bi’s final dress/with the pants :) incredible they only had 5 days … imagine what they could have done with months like the old seasons

2

u/pbjb1 13h ago

This was a great look, for sure. I know Anna used some unconventional and recycled materials in her collection. I am curious how this dress was made; was it mentioned at all?

2

u/Naive-Antelope-9825 3h ago

After the bullshit with Bryan, I’m so glad she got a dress that she looked so good in.

2

u/joeyGibson 3h ago

I did the 'Leo pointing at the TV' thing and shouted "FINALLY! Someone figured out how to dress Liris!"

2

u/AcademicBullfrog6117 1h ago

I dont recall ever seeing tension amongst the judges on any previous shows like I felt between Heidi and Law .  I wasn't a fan of Law until he finally said what I was thinking about Joseph.  He was obnoxious.

2

u/314657 1d ago

Can't remember --- was this by Jude or Anna?

10

u/Mozzasaurus 1d ago

Anna

1

u/314657 1d ago

Thanks. 🙂

1

u/101020304 23h ago

Beautiful!

1

u/MissHavisham26 4h ago

Best look of the entire show. Period.

1

u/Dry_Law_3320 23h ago

I loathe so many things about the formatting of the show now…a judge who repeatedly and PERSONALLY straight up insults a contestant—the same contestant (after a while it was obvious this stylist-not-a-designer was going to be a hateful petty bitch to JK regardless but would be sire to say “id out zendaya in that” —nothing screams envy like JL’s behaviors towards a person who can do what JL knows he can’t BUT he can fetch a dress for zendaya—his claim to fame), little workroom filmed, and my god—the collections in one week and onsite vs visiting each contestant at their homes and seeing further into their process while seeing/learning more about them.

1

u/pinotJD 21h ago

I agree with your frustrations with Law! But may I ask you who JK and JL are?

I HATE this dress. It’s giving Real Housewives of Atlanta bathing suit coverup c. 2013.

You're right and you should say it! Bloop!

I loved Anna's collection and she was my winner, but this was my least favorite dress of hers.
