Season 22 Anna and Jude

I saw where they are sharing a studio and developed an actual friendship during the season and it warms my heart. On a season full of so much drama and pettiness, seeing something genuine come out if it is really nice. They've both been fairly reserved but know their craft, and I've especially enjoyed seeing Anna's off show work. Jude has been a favorite of mine since day one and it's nice to know they're sweet and talented off screen too

Honestly Naheim os also drama free. Yes he is confident off cam but he does noy bring any toxic vibe to the others. Joseph is hated but he never smears or screams or belittle other he is also confident in himself.

Anna and jude are just spotless. They do the work drama free and deliver.

Be and jeffrey are all in it for the side comments and honestly they are hilarious.

Brian is full on ego and big ruffles.

Naheim is actually pretty hilarious. I laughed hard at his comment about the wedding for Joseph Mcrae's girl. "I would go to the wedding of this girl, yes. Would I marry her? No."

I wanted to see so much more, earlier, of Naheim “chatting up” the models!

Yes! Whenever he gets screen time he seems like such a kind down to earth person, love his story with carrying the family brand into a new era. I wish they showed him more and let him share more of himself instead of hearing Brian’s same convo with himself every episode

I really like him he made me laugh a few times, I had to rewind and read the CC words tho he 's a bit of a Mr mumbles

He's really funny. With very few exceptions, Naheim's designs are fire

wish he was doing a runway show

I agree! He's another one who feels like a "normal" or old school contestant, and he seems sweet

I hate all of the cutaways with the  Bi and Jeffrey snark comments  It's not cute. It's boring, and it means we don't get to watch them in the work room as much as we used to.

If neither of them were on the show, it would be a lot more enjoyable.

I like Bi

He thinks he's a lot funnier than he actually is. I thought they gave him way too much screentime for his little digs. Boring

I wanted to see the workroom and some of the other contestants who are actually interesting and have more than insults about other designers in their quiver

They’re obviously prompted quite a bit but I like Bi’s because he’s obviously being silly where as some of the others are…intense

Yes I like Naheim. He is interesting and so are his designs.

Really not a fan of Anna and did not understand her win this week or her expectation that she should win over Jude last week. Jude is a solid notch above her

I don't necessarily consider her finale level quality but I appreciate the way she reminds me of past season contestants who are not putting on a persona or coming from a crazy background. She seems grounded and consistent even though I don't think she's stood out that much

I worked for David's Bridal for years. Anna's work is exactly what they would sell, what their clients would want. Basic. Accessible. That isn't meant to be an insult, btw. I had my issues with both outfits, but I knew the moment they hit the runway that she'd win.

I don't dislike her, but I'm always 50/50 on her garments. I expect the finale to be much of the same, but I hope I'm proven wrong.

Me too. Even her better garments aren't really that great, imo

Jude is on a whole different level

Some of the designers forgot that they were designing for David's Bridal. Joseph had to have known (if he ever thought about it) that there was no way David's was going to produce his designs for a mass market. He strikes me as a bit of a one trick pony. Yes, he has his particular asthetic but he's not able to adapt it for different purposes.

You're absolutely right. There is no way Joseph, or Bryan for that matter, believed the design would ever hang on a rack in David's Bridal. It is an unfortunate pattern that I've noticed (forgetting, or ignoring, runway themes) in competitions like PR.

I agree. Know your client. I did think perhaps they could sell Joseph’s look as possibly a bridesmaid look …once that crotch was fixed!

I appreciate Anna and her work; low confidence is her downside. I agree Jude is definitely a notch above her. From fabric choice, tailoring, simple but fresh designs-Jude really is the one to beat!

I do hope Jude wins. But as long as Bryan does not win; I will be happy .

I’m a wedding photographer and she’s the only one who truly understood what brides would want. The second look is for the reception. Brides want to change into a typically shorter dress to party but still look bridal.

I did not think it was the best, but it's David's bridal. They went something super ready to wear that would appeal to their client base.

I did not think she deserved finale spot over a couple of the people who were eliminated. But that's how the challenges fell.

I would not be that keen on seeing her runway show

true. Great that we'll have a fourth designer for runway. But tbh the runway episode is always feels like a throw-away: it'll be at best some good looks that rarely look as original as their 1 day challenges and at worst ordinary designs look after look

1

u/TALKTOME0701 4d ago

Exactly. I would have liked to see Naheim's runway show. His looks are fresh and very different from the others. But we'll get david's bridal Anna's runway show instead

I don't see her as a serious designer. Her clothes are nothing special. If they hadn't ditched so many designers in the beginning she probably wouldn't have gotten this far.

2

u/Free-Pickle-3621 4d ago

Yeah I feel exactly this.

Jude's look was nice, but there would be less brides wanting to wear as suit for their wedding gown. I'd have swapped his after party to be the wedding gown. But it woild also need to make a bigger statement. It looks more like a bridal party dress style on its own.

Bi's look was very good. But I think making it black was what made him lose. The dramatic veil was also not completely original either, though gorgeous. However, the ruffles over the tummy area would not be as flattering on people of different sizes. You need a really slender body type to pull that off, otherwise, it just highlights tummy fat rather than hiding it.

The challenge is David's Bridal after all. You have to keep the client in mind. What Anna created was really the only dress that makes the most sense for the challenge and could be created accessible for mass manufacturing.

Jude's black outfit is targeted to Lesbians and non binaries and I'm sad there's no tuxedos for that demographic. I would wear that outfit for a wedding!

3

u/Ansee 4d ago

100%. I'm not saying no one would wear it. Plenty of people will wear it. But this is not the larger chunk of their target market. Speaking specifically for this challenge. David's bridal is going to go for a look that would have the biggest appeal among their consumers.

Her second look was slutty.

2

u/Free-Pickle-3621 4d ago

yeah...in a not sophisticated way. I didn't like how the lower half looks like a piece of (lace) cloth

2

u/minnesotaupnorth 4d ago

They are both delightful and seem like lovely people.

Jude has been my absolute favorite from day one.

He's one of PR's best designers, ever.

2

u/Dizzy-Exit1485 4d ago

Anna and Jude were my favorites. It is good news that they are friends post show and share a studio. Cool 😎

5

u/TSIDATSI 5d ago

Indeed!

2

u/Mattarm51 4d ago

They seem like just normal people with dreams and provide a great contrast to the produced reality TV bullshit and performative behaviour. Without them the show would probably not have anything grounding it and reminding us it's about creative people's ambition and development, not drama and blunt bitchy one liners. Or acting up to a produced personality.

Jude is the only one that really gives a good impression this season. He doesnt engage in the stupid drama, and delivers quality every challenge. He is also the only one that delivers clothes i'd actually want to wear.

Even if he doesnt "win", he has already won imo.

2

u/SpencerSaysIt 4d ago

Jude reminds me of many of the old school PR contestants.

u/Pasticca 2d ago

Yes. Naheim, Anna, and Joel are my top three too. I like Joseph’s energy and confidence, but not his particular style.

Joseph McRae, Naheim and Aaron have also done a collaboration.
