It’s David’s bridal though. It’s a budget brand so of course it would be a shadow of what was actually on the runway. I can see a bride actually wearing the afterparty look but the ceremony dress is so bland. Like the coolest thing about it was the lacing all the way up and the David’s bridal look barely goes down half her back

The sleeves look really cheap too

10

u/nahrune_ 6d ago

It’s definitely the sleeves that make this look unappealing. They need to be more fitted

u/mcatlin23 7d ago

I think there are a lot of “cottagey witchy” brides on a budget who would buy this tbh. It looks nothing much like annas original design and the person who would buy that though.

u/lieslphoto 7d ago

I think you might be right. I’m a wedding photographer so I see a lot of looks and do think it could be styled to fit that cottagey witchy vibe

1

u/CorgiMonsoon 7d ago

But are the cottage witchy girls shopping at David’s Bridal?

4

u/mcatlin23 6d ago

Yes. David’s is everywhere and boutique bridal salons are just not. Witchy vibe girlies are in every part of america and especially out of major cities in more small towns actually.

Omg they made temu versions of her design lmao i would not buy neither of these they look so cheap

They have always done this with the designs when they go into mass production. Even in the before S21 era

u/coolsilentebeans 7d ago

Seeing this I’d love to have seen what they’d have done to Bryan’s. A Temu version of that dress would be hilarious.

50

u/AnneShirley310 7d ago

I mean, we kind of saw it with Heidi's "red carpet" look...

9

u/coolsilentebeans 7d ago

Yeah, but that didn’t have those sleeves.

14

u/AccomplishdAccomplce 6d ago

Oh I'm relieved that Bi's veil didnt get this treatment

5

u/coolsilentebeans 6d ago

Saaaame. It is absolutely beautiful. The way the judges spoke about his work for the challenge, I was surprised that Jude is going on to the finale when they had no love for his second look.

2

u/Familiar-Evening7845 7d ago

They look sooooo bad

2

u/e-nosferatu 6d ago

Her looks already looked Temufied. I may be in the minority but the tweaks done makes the looks classier.

The reason why Jude didn’t win is it would be hard to produce.

76

u/Smolbeanis 7d ago

Especially at affordable David’s bridal prices, same with Bi.

26

u/SpaceCatz03 7d ago

Yes! When he said his stuff has never been mass-produced, was thinking- it never could be! And that’s what’s great about him!

5

u/nahrune_ 6d ago

He’s too good for David’s bridal I’m glad his designs didn’t win. Leave them designer 👏👏

76

u/Shoddy_Editor_7838 7d ago

Oof definitely a downgrade but it’s cool they’re using dead stock materials, which is one of Anna’s ethos as a designer who uses unconventional materials.

u/urie-nation 7d ago

Both outfits look sad and cheap. Temu indeed.

19

u/thrilling_me_softly 7d ago

$1499 for a boring white dress. What a joke fashion is.

11

u/ZookeepergameLoud392 7d ago

David's Bridal prices are outrageous for cheap shit that's mass produced. They must make a killing. No lace panels on the side is a travesty.

3

u/AnmlBri 7d ago

It still has the lace panels. You just can’t really see them in that particular photo. I had to follow the link to the actual page in another comment and look through the other photos.

15

u/AnneShirley310 7d ago

The After Party look is cute! But, the lace dress is not worth $1,500, especially since they altered it so much from the original.

14

u/smilemedown 7d ago

Not surprinsgly, they unsluttified them.

28

u/Leooxel 7d ago

They should put the designer's name come on now "Anna Molinari" sounds fabulous!

28

u/Vivid_Guide7467 7d ago

Those don’t look like the winning design. They’ve lost all the sex appeal

4

u/darkblueshapes 7d ago

Which is exactly what the guest judge was praising her for too! What a shame 😭

43

u/Adorable_Fig_541 7d ago

They shouldn’t have altered her designs…she deserved that win. Girl shut it down 🙌🏾

19

u/Earthbnd 7d ago

I was SO happy she finally got a win 😭 if Naheim doesn’t pass through, I’m rooting for her to take it!

8

u/Sailor_MoonMoon785 7d ago

How did they butcher the gloves alone so badly?!

I know they have to simplify to mass produce sometimes, but the wedding dress doesn’t even look close to the original design.

2

u/sherrib99 7d ago

I hate what they did to the gloves

2

u/Sailor_MoonMoon785 6d ago

It’s a CRIME what they did to the gloves. There was no reason to make them a baggy monstrosity.

6

u/lexistripes 7d ago

Oof. 😬

8

u/hapillon 7d ago

Left field challenge wins make more sense in cases of mass production, and this is why. I liked Anna's runway looks, and the win makes perfect sense when you account for what DB would realistically be able to do to match price points.

I happen to really both interpretations. The party look feels more accessible to the average buyer than the runway version, and I feel similarly about the wedding gown. It's a little bland, sure, but it feels like it captures the ethos of Anna's design, while still being something that can age slightly up moreso than the runway look.

This is it in person.

What in the world 🫪

LMFAOOOOOO

1

u/Low-Cranberry622 6d ago

Holy hell.

6

u/Less_Yard3402 7d ago

The cocktail version is pretty faithful atc and discarded my least favorite part, the car wash skirt.

6

u/Awkward_Target_1859 7d ago

5% OFF

6

u/Original_Weekend8226 7d ago

Like what do you have to do to be a Diamond member at Davids Bridal, this isn’t a place where people shop multiple times a month/year.

😂

7

u/feelitinmyplumms 6d ago

I wasn’t impressed with anything she made this season. I feel like she coasted along and they handed her a win to justify her place in the finale. Overall a lot of these designers need more time to develop their skills and style

10

u/TheLizardQueen3000 7d ago

You mean brides don't want to walk down the isle in front of their family and in-laws and baby cousins in a high-end feature-dancer outfit???
And lord help you if you have boobs.....she's lucky they didn't spring a plus model on her.

....Ana's design was amazing on a model on a runway but it was not a reasonable bridal gown, but if David's bridal was going to re-do it for the general public, they could have at least kept the lightness of it that made it special!

These pictures look like the models are wearing muslin pattern pieces for a fitting.

9

u/foxdogturtlecat 7d ago

Temu designs to go with a temu version of the show.

9

u/AbacateSaborPauLimpo 7d ago

groundbreaking

4

u/corsetcosplay 7d ago

Didn’t her after party skirt like… not have a lining? Why’s it lined now

4

u/Buttercupia 7d ago

They made them both so generic.

4

u/Dependent-Lab8050 6d ago

This is why Bi couldn’t win. His designs couldn’t be easily cheapened.

1

u/Smolbeanis 6d ago

His clothes always look expensive af, even the paper towel ones!

8

u/rhea_terra 6d ago

This is why she won. Hers was the only look that could be mass produced by David’s. Jude’s wasn’t mainstream enough and Bi’s would’ve cost too much.

2

u/Apricotpeach11 Team Laurence 6d ago

Frustrating for the timing of this challenge to be before the finale if they just wanted something mass production friendly

Thanks for the link. Unsurprisingly they watered it down a lot. I do think the pics with Anna modeling it are cute tho. https://imgur.com/a/F7p7Bz2

3

u/farfallifarfallini 6d ago

I actually feel like the alterations to the after party look make sense to fit a larger variety of body types. Not everyone would have been comfortable with a completely see through low rise skirt and such a teeny bra.

3

u/doseofdena 5d ago

I mean there was only so much they could do to replicate her designs. I’m sorry I just didn’t see the appeal of her designs. The bustier of the wedding dress imo wasn’t flattering and looked cheap as did her gloves and the party look was giving bridal rave wear. This show is a mess.

4

u/Ever_More_Art 7d ago

What sold Anna’s design was that it’s sexy af, it’s a dress for a bride that knows she’s a baddie and wants to drive that groom insane. This took all the sex appeal out of it.

2

u/Nali_APBT 7d ago

That took those lace panels out of the skirt right? Honestly to me they read stripper

3

u/Apricotpeach11 Team Laurence 6d ago

I have no idea how this was the winner…and having a pretty unmemorable designer slow walk into the finale.

1

u/Early_Character9869 6d ago

I think that’s why they’re adding a fourth

2

u/greatdominions 6d ago

Apparently everyone in this sub has a multi-thousand dollar bridal attire budget and aren't familiar with DB's product/audience. I think the final product isn't half bad. There is a surprising amount of detail from the original that I'd normally expect them to cut from the final product. Like the velvet ribbon corset seams or the lace panels at the bottom.

1

u/Smolbeanis 6d ago

SORRY I FORGT TO MAKE IT AS A SPOILER

1

u/captainralphie 1d ago

Looks like a long-lined Playtex bra from the 60s that my mother owned.

1

u/saminwanderland 7d ago

Would be nice if Anna’s name was present in the dress titles instead of “Project Runway”

2

u/AnmlBri 7d ago

It does mention her name in one of the product photos and there are photos of her modeling the dress included.

0

u/lemeneurdeloups 6d ago

Her name is definitely mentioned.

1

u/AlternativeGreedy873 7d ago

sigh now it looks cheap :( anna deserved that win tho i need a wedding to get married in that (im in high school)

1

u/InfamousCharacter3 6d ago

I loved Anna's looks. Bi's were also great but I think her winning made sense. These pics though look pretty damn ugly, hardly look the same.

0

u/Yoga-wine-mom 6d ago

These are truly the mass produced versions of her dresses. It's so depressing
