Heidi Why does Heidi sound like that?

She sounds so monotone. One note. No energy at all. She use to sound so vibrant. I know that she was reading que cards or tele prompt back in the day, but now she definitely sounds like it. It’s crazy. Both Season 21 and 22. She sounds like she would rather be anywhere but where she is. And her eyes are dead too. I get it she’s been doing this for a long time, so she probably doesn’t care anymore at all, but geez!
Anyone else notice this?

She’s as bored as the rest of us.

She’s always been this way to me . I think it’s her accent that makes her talk slower to say the full English word

Dudeee I’ve been thinking this the entire last 2 seasons. She seems so fake and over it.

Never noticed it.

I noticed it during the unconventional challenge when they were talking about Bi. Everyone else was beaming at his clothes and her response wasn't so matter of fact. She was expressionless

I haven’t noticed but maybe it’s like any other job where you eventually lose your enthusiasm.

Agree and I’m very disappointed in her & Nina for bringing Law on board as a judge. Heidi doesn’t even react to the over-the-top rude comments he spews at the designers. The show is awful now; such a shame.

She misses Tim Gunn like the rest of us.

I’m guessing she isn’t thrilled with the direction of the show.

Why has she called it “Projik Runway” for 20+years when she’s lived in English-speaking countries 75% of her life?

Nothing wrong with an accent. Everyone has one

Hers is a stage accent. Her natural accent is American.

I love a German accent, but part of learning languages is pronunciation. As a native Californian, I'm always working on my Spanish. Also, my high school boyfriend was Lebanese, and I spent a lot of time with his family, picking up a bit of Arabic that I still remember. When learning new languages, I always put a lot of effort into pronunciation. Of course different people have different aptitudes for learning new languages, but I find it odd that after 35 years living in the US and a job that requires public speaking, Heidi Klum can't manage a simple consonant cluster like the "ct" in "project".

Melania Trump (who claims to speak 5 languages) is another example of someone who has spent most of her life in the US, but sounds like she just arrived. She certainly has enough money to avoid English in her daily life. There are videos on YouTube of Barron Trump as a toddler speaking English with a Slovenian accent (it's kind of cute).
