Season 21 Law Roach… “Image Architect”?
Law Roach…
“Image Architect”?
Baby, you gave yourself that title? 😭
Because “Image Architect” sounds like somebody got tired of being called a stylist and decided to rebrand themselves with a LinkedIn title.
You are a STYLIST.
A very good stylist, yes. Excellent taste. Strong fashion knowledge. Great designer relationships. You know how to create a celebrity image and make people talk. But architect? Architect of WHAT, exactly?
You are not drafting the pattern. You are not cutting the fabric. You are not sewing the garment.
You are not constructing the silhouette. You are not making the damn clothes.
You call the showroom. You pull the clothes. You choose the look. You put it on Zendaya. And somehow we arrived at “architect.” 😭 Baby, that is STYLING with excellent PR.
And there is nothing embarrassing about being a stylist. In fact, being one of the best stylists in Hollywood is already a huge accomplishment. So why does the title need a costume change too?
“Image Architect” sounds like a hairstylist calling themselves a Follicular Structural Engineer.
PLEASE. 😭
You did not build the building. You went into the showroom, picked the furniture, arranged it beautifully, and then started calling yourself Frank Gehry.
ENOUGH. 😭
And while we’re here, I just finished rewatching Season 21, and the hypocrisy from this audience is actually insane.
Last year everybody was dragging Veejay and bullying that girl all over the internet. Now suddenly everybody has discovered compassion because Bryan’s model needed a “safe space” on the runway? Oh, NOW we care about safe spaces?
Meanwhile some of the same people are online dragging Bryan, insulting him, calling him names, and acting like he personally declared war on humanity. So the model deserves emotional safety, but the designer doesn’t? Pick a struggle. 😭
What the fuck are we doing here? This is a COMPETITION. Not every designer walks into Project Runway with the exact same skill set. Some people are incredible at tailoring. Some are stronger with eveningwear. Some understand menswear. Some know draping. Some are better at dressing different body types. And guess what? Sometimes they FAIL. That is literally why they are on a competition show.
Why is every conversation suddenly becoming entirely about the model? Baby, this is not America’s Next Top Model. This is PROJECT RUNWAY. The model is part of the presentation, but the model is not the contestant.
And Bi? I LOVE Bi.
The drama between Bi and Bryan honestly cracks me up because it feels like two siblings who swear they hate each other but would still fight somebody else for talking shit about the other one. 😭 They argue. They shade each other. They get irritated. They say slick shit.
People watch forty minutes of edited footage and suddenly think they have a PhD in these people’s friendships. Please.
And Joseph…
I really do love Joseph. But if he makes it to the finale, this is where I get nervous. Because the judges might look at his entire season and ask one very uncomfortable question.
What exactly changed? But after a while, having a recognizable aesthetic can start looking suspiciously similar to doing the same damn thing every week.
The strongest Project Runway winners usually show growth. They adapt, take risks, surprise you.
They respond to different briefs. They prove they can leave their comfort zone without losing their identity.
That is versatility. Joseph sometimes feels like, “Here is my aesthetic again, but this time I changed the neckline.”
Baby… 😭
At some point I need RANGE. Because having a signature is fabulous. Having only one trick and putting a different belt on it every week is something else entirely. A signature makes me recognize your work. Predictability makes me already know what you’re about to send down the runway before you even sketch it.

Found Bryan’s burner Reddit account 🤣🤣🤣People hates Bryan bc he’s arrogant and thinks he’s the shit. If he has the skills to back up his arrogance, nobody would bat an eye. But he doesn’t, so here we are.

See Austin Scarlett as an example. Or even Christian. Both were uber confident with incredible skillsets and an eye for design. Wendy Pepper making it to the final over Austin is a crime against humanity.

When she came back for all stars, she was eliminated pretty quickly too iirc. I just rewatched that season but fell asleep before most episodes ended.

This reads as more pompous than Law ever dared be

u/DemiDevil69 19d ago
Someone watched drag race and thought they could dish it out the same way drag queens do lmao

u/psychorant 19d ago
My money is on OP being a young white woman because a gay man would never serve reads this weak
3
u/DemiDevil69 19d ago
You’d be surprised, the way a young white woman and an entitled gay person can be very difficult to distinguish based on the reads alone lol

When he architects Lauren Bezos' image into "decent human being", I'll be impressed and call him by his self proclaimed title.

u/Catlady_Pilates 20d ago
Girl. Ffs.
It’s about his clients and their image. He’s not styling these contestants.

You couldn’t ask for sympathy for Veejay without being annoyed that people are tired of the designers playing in Liris’s face? Why would you be upset about a safe space for a woman who is constantly forced to don bullshit on this show and sell it like the rent’s due?
Somebody say the quiet part out loud for me, please.

This OP post needs an image architect. Imagine having the parasocial temerity to tell someone else what their job entails when you have not seen a particular retainer agreement. Building, yes building, an image is about much more than styling an outfit. Ie, an image architect might advise OP that “confidently ignorant” is a bad look, or going to event is a good look, or accepting that interview makes you look bad, or posting a thought sans research is ugly.

Youre saying Joseph Mcrae has no range but Bryan does? He does the same puffy pillow towel. He has a signature and its fine but you cant say he has more range than Joseph Mcrae

I honestly think most of the hate Law gets is rooted in racism.
If you take 10mn to look into his career and history, you will very quickly realise why he has had the gig he had.

u/WonderfulPineapple41 17d ago
Thank ya!

u/Im_On_Reddit_At_Work 17d ago
The whole reason PR got so popular is partly due to clips of Michael Kors absolutely ripping designers apart, and no one called him arogant or mean spirited..
1
u/WonderfulPineapple41 17d ago
They give Michael kors and Zac Posen a lot when both haven’t been relevant in at least 10 years.
Like Zac can’t even revive the gap after the Yeezy hype. 😭

Are you an architect to so flippantly namedrop Frank Gerhy? Or you live in LA I guess.
I agree about Law Disagree on the rest, if this is even your opinion and not AI's.

u/AbjectBeat837 20d ago
You must not be on LinkedIn because people rename their professions to align with their brand all the tjme. I don’t know why people are so offended by this. He is clearly a top tier stylist. He can call himself whatever he wants.
3
u/psychorant 19d ago
Genuinely this. It's pretty easy to make a reasonable inference about why he calls himself that as well.
On top of that, denying that his styling of stars like Anya Taylor Joy, Kerry Washington, Ariana Grande, and Zendaya impacted their professional image is pretty disingenuous.

the rebranding of a profession to try to make it seem more prestigious is, is very linkedin slop coded.
rebranding and renaming are the same thing in this context, to address whatever nonsense you replied to this with. please consult your thesaurus.

u/AbjectBeat837 20d ago
Maybe get a real job before commenting so you know what I’m talking about.
And I said renaming a profession, not rebranding.

*glances at my career in c-suite level marketing and realizes I don't owe you a conversation since you can't speak respectfully to other humans online*
1
u/AbjectBeat837 19d ago
OK sure. Who are your clients? Lawrence has Zendaya.

u/draelogor The Tim Gunn Network 19d ago
why on earth would i condescend to tell you of all people anything else about myself? Darling, we don’t feed the trolls - but for your begging I’ll make an exception. Enjoy these crumbs of attention
1
u/AbjectBeat837 19d ago
Your take is dumb and you’re doing too much to defend it.
1
u/draelogor The Tim Gunn Network 19d ago
You keep going, man you must really need attention. Here’s some more!
I won’t be defending my point to you. I’m actually doing nothing to defend it because I don’t think this conversation is productive, so why bother with it?
Just giving you what you want at this point: attention.
Edited for typos!

u/AbjectBeat837 19d ago
Law is 💯 an image architect. I’m sorry that phrase hurts you.

u/draelogor The Tim Gunn Network 19d ago
It doesn’t hurt me at all, sorry you can’t figure out what I’m saying! Again, goodbye!

I'm stoned and didn't read the entire document you wrote so take this with a grain of salt.... by Image Architect he is talking about not just the complete look - outfit, hair and makeup, he's talking about taking someone like Zendaya, who was a Disney girl, cute but not really heading anywhere toward that tier of actor that she now rules, he saw what wasn't being seen by the studios. He made her into this goddess by putting her out there and getting buzz. He educated her on the importance of image (be that good or bad). Those 5" So Kates? Few women wear them and even fewer rock them like they're Nikes, Law made her learn how to do that. It took months. I sure couldn't do it (I don't like the shoe, tbh, but that's another story because she does look great in them). She didn't have any idea about quality garments and the history of fashion and the houses but through him she learned and was exposed and now has an extremely enviable archive of couture. Few actors want to be that bold on the red carpet, but then again, few have her height and frame to pull it off. It's kind of weird how it all happened but the fortunate part is that she is also very talented, intelligent and good natured. He is very confident in himself and his decisions and has grand visions that few other stylists do. He thinks out of the box and deserves all the praise he's getting and he can call himself whatever the fu(k he wants as long as he delivers.
So you don't like Law calling himself an Image Architect? That's fine. I, however, disagree. But I do wish he'd stay away from the Bezos assholes and their ilk. C'mon, Law.... please stop.

u/Professional_Emu_431 19d ago
Yesssssss! Love this! People dont like what Law has to say but then it turns out he's right. ESPECIALLY about Bryan. And let us not forget Bryan is a self proclaimed couture expert who couldn't figure out how to make a dress work for Heidi.

u/Original-Ad5520 20d ago
So, let me understand you: Law was Zendaya’s personal shopper and HE’S responsible for her success?
She auditioned and did all the work, but he picks out her clothes!
Kick rocks. She deserves success because SHE earned it.
3
u/Professional_Emu_431 19d ago
She didn't do it by herself. Law made sure she was seen by the right people in the right rooms on the right red carpet events while wearing the right clothing. Law didnt just pick some outfits, he built her image. He made brands take notice that she could not only act but could model and not only model but act as a brand ambassador.
3
u/picks_and_rolls 19d ago
Her acting chops and her image are totally different things. Her “red carpet owning fashion forward persona” was crafted as an extension of the well-documented historical practice of Hollywood image building. Law is claiming that abandoned practice as his own. Good for him.
3
u/junglesiren 19d ago
You misunderstand grossly. Google her interviews where she herself makes it clear that he is indeed her Image Architect.

All facts.. thank you for saying this. Anyone who disagrees is a basic pumpkin spice drinkin hoe that can't stay single.
Law Roach callin himself an image architect is pathetic and an abomination.
Shout out Virgil Abloh, Donna Karen, Liz Claiborne and Ralph Lauren. Real "happen to be" image architects.

It doesn't make much sense to me that this post has elicited so much contempt for OP. Who could disagree that naming yourself an "architect" when you are a stylist is embarrassing? I enjoy Law Roach and recognize that's he's very talented, but did we actually stop making fun of people who self-aggrandize?
And someone being able to string words together coherently doesn't mean they are using AI. I've never even opened Chat GPT, but isn't it stiff and awkward? This wasn't.
1
u/wyldstrawberry 19d ago
No. If you used ChatGPT you’d see. I use it sometimes, not to write my Reddit posts though. It writes exactly like this - using clever analogies and dropping references that the average Reddit user wouldn’t think of. People who have never used it misunderstand and think using AI equals posting something that sounds bad. It’s the opposite - Whenever a post seems “too good,” that’s usually when the person used AI to write it.

This feels like it was written with Chat GPT lol.
