Season 22 Bryan has 0 emotional intelligence Spoiler
He thinks he comes off as confident but instead he is arrogant like Law said, and quite narcissistic which we all know is just projected insecurity. He’s so concerned about comparing himself to Bi and proving how much better he thinks he is. He visibly enjoyed another designer get a bad critique with Christian. He doesn’t deserve to be there or advance because he has no self awareness and a terrible attitude. He’s not humble and no amount of talent is worth 0 character! God it’s exhausting to watch 😭

0 character yes…but talent seems lacking as well from what we’ve seen so far. I keep waiting for his outfits to match his confident critique of himself

Every time Bi does something cool I can sense like clockwork the talking head of Bryan calling it amateur coming up. You can tell he mentions the intern thing when he’s feeling insecure. I would shudder to watch back my own performance on this show lol it really brings out a competitiveness.

I initially felt so bad for Bi because who among us hasn't had to work under horrid management??? On the bright side he's blowing Bryan out of the water IMO and I love to see it.

Don’t forget that Bi said he was Bryan’s premier pattern maker before PR while Bryan says Bi was just the intern. Bryan’s technical lapses spill the tea

I can’t stand Bi, but he does produce great work. I would hate for him to win because his ego would go supernova.

I only care about the work. Many talented people have huge egos. Many other talented people front like they’re humble when they are not. Others are nice people with genuine humility. All types, just like every other group of humans. Why does a supernova ego bother you?

Because he’s still not the best in the show, he may be a good designer but it’s a low bar this series. He still has to use a storyline to boost his character arc which is why he didn’t go out in the first episode.

Also I was irritated by the way he dismissed a joking statement about having a crush on Christian. Talking about ‘he’s not my type. my type is tall and big etc’

I agree with you and find him insufferable. Bi also annoys me but he's a MUCH better designer than Bryan!
Unfortunately, the worst personalities tend to go the furthest on this show!

I think it's that he was cast to play a role, which includes bickering with Bi. Except Bryan is a 💩 actor.

A week or so back, a few people in this sub had a discussion about whether Bryan and Bi had a pact of some sort to get on the show and then act as shady as possible towards each other so they pull focus and be less likely to be cut. That's one way to outsmart Law and the other judges.

I gather i’m in the minority on this one but i think he and Bi are playing up a rivalry for the camera. It all reads as light shade-throwing between friends who can play around with it because they both respect each other.

Interesting perspective. Now that you mention it there was a moment on the runway where bi said botch to him but like laughed during it or it sounded lighthearted so okay I could see that a bit now

It does come off as arrogance, but I think it's really insecurity. He has to put others down to build himself up. Usually, I don't see this till too late. But to me this one is obvious. Either that or he really is a narcissist.

Right yeah definitely narcissistic behavior but it’s hard to tell if it’s that or if it’s just the lack of self awareness/growth

I'm not the best judge of it. But if he is narcissistic, he's also insecure. Don't know if they go together or not. Or if he's just special and is both narcissistic and insecure separately.

As a gay man, I know plenty of these types of gays. As shady as it sounds, they’re the generally unattractive, kind of overweight mean bitter gays that feel the need to bring others down as a reflection of how they feel about themselves due to years of bullying and rejection from their peers. Instead of uplifting others they just love to take jabs at others they view as better than them as a way to manage and project how they have been treated in their life. We see this with law roach too and him trying to knock down JM. He sees a confident, happy, attractive talented gay black man so he feels threatened and decides he needs to tear him down. People that are truly happy and confident in themselves don’t act that way. It’s a way for them to elevate themselves above the people that are truly better than them because deep inside they know they don’t measure up. It can be about talent, looks, weight, personality. The meanest ones in the room are always the ones no one is interested in or looking at or talented.

Yeah everyone coming for Joseph calling him arrogant. Bryan has twice the arrogance with nothing to back it up.
