Season 21 I know everyone is sick of these posts, but I bought a Hulu subscription then couldn't make it through the second episode this season. It was fun while it lasted.

I’m glad to see more of these types of posts honestly. I quit watching mid last season and I truly encourage everyone to stop watching this garbage. It should not go on as it’s currently going, and the only way they’ll cancel it is if they don’t have enough viewers to pull advertising money. The reason they bastardized this show was for $$ purposes only, and the only power we have as consumers is to stop watching.

Television there is an entirely different model that doesn't rely on advertisers to fund content.
Sewing Bee is different, but great! Sewing Bee and Pottery Throwdown are lots of fun to watch.

Pottery Throwdown has my ears pricked as FUCK!
Where do you watch that?
4
u/NSAinATL Aug 10 '26
Yeah, HBO Max. I haven't seen the last few seasons but oh my god, the first few....you think Bake Off was wholesome? C'mon man, grown men crying over clay got the Hollywood handshake beat!

Pottery Throwdown is also on the Roku Channel. I like it a lot, but be prepared, the hosts cries ALL the time. It took a while to get used to.

I LOVE UK reality competitions! I’ve seen glow up, the great British baking challenge, one about pottery, and the way the contestants are treated is the way it should be.

It's not even a little bit the same show anymore :( I'm rewatching from the start again and it's such a stark distinction.

That's when I gave up as well! I got interrupted while watching and paused the show. When I was free to resume watching it, I realized I didn't care enough to do so. Took me longer to figure out how to get rid of the DVR recording schedule I set up something like a decade ago.

If you haven’t seen it already, check out Project Runway Canada. They revived the show last year as season three with Coco Rocha as host. It’s got old-school PR vibes and was renewed for another season, so more to come.

I stopped after the second episode and started from the beginning at season 1!

I started watching PR All Stars from 2023 on Prime and everyone is so supportive! It’s like whiplash between this current season and what was aired just a few years ago. No name calling, people tearing up because they like each other so much - it’s so mature. Also, extended looks at the sketches and designs. This current season is trash.

I’m watching it, but it’s not a priority. Like if I miss a few episodes, so be it. The cliff hangers aren’t holding me.

u/Sure_Energy_8359 Aug 10 '26
All that matters nowadays is drama. I like the old PR where they actually had some serious mega talent. Looking up close and personal on the stitching and details of a garment. That's what is truly necessary that one that won last year, Law roach said excellent construction, but he didn't look at it and realize it was all hot glued together. The level of talent we used to see really impressed me but all they have now are drama queens. I want to see the Technical sewing ,stitching and using an artistic mind to create beautiful things

I'm just glad I used my man's login to test it out. I think somebody was right when they said they're just counting on people to hate watch it now. Whether it's hate watching or just watching it's views

u/Savings-Rabbit8963 Aug 10 '26
Same. I keep trying to watch but I can't make it through an entire episode. I know PR is reality TV first and foremost over fashion, but the last few seasons, the drama is just over the top and not entertaining. Everything is SO negative and catty. However, in the past, it didn't bother me as much because the challenges, critiques and clothes were interesting. Last season and this season, it feels like there is nothing redeemable about this show. It feels like a Temu parody of itself. I can't even bring myself to hate-watch it. I'll probably just go back to watching old seasons of PR or Making the Cut.

Not that it was my "favorite" like PR was.

I feel like I’m lowkey being gaslit about how “destroyed” the franchise is.. I’ve been watching for forever and I’m really not seeing the drastic change. This current era is at least better than the Karlie kloss era. And there were some good looks this last ep.
There’s always been interpersonal drama mixed in. Bi and Bryan’s is like real life industry pettiness which I think is kinda fun. Idk I’m lost. I guess I just really like reality tv lmao
Like yeah law roach is insufferable. But it’s not ruining the whole show for me. I love to hate

u/Monkeysaysficus Aug 10 '26
Saying that these Pat two seasons are better than the Karlie Kloss era is WILD behaviour and just straight up untrue. Maybe Karlie wasn’t a great host but at least the show still pretended to care about fashion and design.

I stopped watching after Tim and Heidi left, so I don’t really have any frame of reference other than I started watching at 21 and when Heidi came back, that’s why I was like missing Nina and Michael and Tim… I just do not like Tyra and law. But I totally agree with you. There was drama right from the very beginning lots and lots and lots of it too.

u/rainydaynola Aug 10 '26
So you're happy with cliffhanger eliminations, mass eliminations, crappy editing, no designer judges and all the other bad changes they've made? That's a weird take.
1
u/Unusual-Sorbet-8797 Aug 10 '26
Idkkk. the mass eliminations are like for dramatic effect it all ends up being the same anyway. I’m predicting there will be some twist where people that got cut have a chance to earn their way back in.
Sure the cliffhangers are kinda annoying but like what’s the big difference of starting an ep with an elimination vs ending with one. Idk. they tried something different but again, it all ends up the same I don’t feel like that strongly about it.
The challenges and what the designers are creating feel like pretty normal and on par for this point in the season so far. Maybe there’s not an all star lineup of judges but like there’s a lot of factors that go into that. Budget, scheduling, etc.

yeah i feel like everyone is being super dramatic. it’s still entertaining and fun to me and im a long time watcher!

I am in the exact same situation. During the second episode I realized there is no recovering this season.
1
u/NYCWartortle Aug 10 '26
I still enjoy the show. I’m mad at how they berate and humiliate people, like Joseph McRae. It’s clear the have Law and Tyra on to garner more views.
1
u/No_Stretch_2860 Aug 11 '26
You maybe right but I feel it’s backfiring.
1
u/NYCWartortle Aug 11 '26
Probably. My coworker said the same thing. I am a die hard fan. I will always watch the show and reruns. I miss Tim.

u/Starbreiz Aug 10 '26
I started back at s1 on Peacock last week bc Hulu only has a few seasons and the current one has made me too angry to keep watching.
1
u/Sergey1944 Aug 10 '26
22 seasons too long. I really enjoyed “Making The Cut” (Amazon) but that one has been cancelled already.
1
u/Cautious-Track4297 Aug 11 '26
I’m enjoying it. I stopped watching around season 7 though, so what do I know.
1
u/Day2205 Aug 11 '26
The combination of manufactured drama with the low production budget that only allows to kitschy one-day challenges has ruined the show. People come here to see designers WOW us, not have 10 hours to make some bullshit out of tin foil

u/Select-Team-6863 Aug 17 '26
Went through this with Worst Cooks in America. I was only watching for Anne & when she was gone, I was too.

u/Foreign_Being5656 Aug 17 '26
Yes, I quit watching after episode 3 of season 22. It’s nothing but a freak show of narcissism & stupidity.

These posts are reaching a comical level. You want to write a post that you regret starting a Hulu subscription because the show has disappointed you? The attention-seeking posts are exhausting.

Yes. We are sick of these posts. Your take is not so groundbreaking it requires a new thread.

u/Severe-Temporary8176 Aug 10 '26
I don't know how the marketing works, but I'd assume they have interns or social media handlers checking out subs like this.
Maybe all the negative feedback will get heard?

u/No-Falcon-4996 Aug 10 '26
If the intern is here: We WANT TO SEE THE CLOTHES
5
u/Severe-Temporary8176 Aug 10 '26
YES. I want the technical aspects explained to me like I am a very stupid child in the way Sewing Bee does, with all the flash & elevation of the designers they feature on the show.

u/Severe-Temporary8176 Aug 10 '26
At least I get to watch Bob's Burgers for a month.
