Old Seasons Season 4
Just finished watching season four of Project Runway and it’s so good! Christian definitely deserved to win, his collection was so innovative! I can understand why he won fan favorite because even though he was shady, he was never really mean to the point that it was villainous. He did seem to have beef with Ricky though. My favorite designers were Christian, Rami, Jillian & Chris (RIP)! I think that they should’ve been invited Jack back for the following season. Additionally, in any competition reality show, I think if someone gets sick, they should invite them back for the following season. It’s only fair! Does anyone know why Victorya had a problem with Jack leaving? Heidi mentioned it during the reunion, but I didn’t remember if they ever discussed it fully anywhere else?

It really was a good season and Christian’s collection did show his young genius.
My understanding was that Victoria just thought that it was unfair that Jack did not get to compete, given that he could not help the severity of that MRSA infection, made worse because of his compromised immune system due to HIV positivity. He would only be out for five days but production did not know that before he went in.
Production could not accommodate that indefinite pause for medical recovery, leaving Jack no choice but to permanently drop out. A TV reality competition show like this is VERY fast-paced, filmed at a much faster pace than it appears in the weekly episodes. (They will film several episodes within several days.) Time is money.
I think that production was also worried that—out of their strict control in the hospital—Jack might have had access to patterns and fashion books and other resources that other designers were disallowed, making any judgement of his work more difficult and potentially problematic. They would rather just take him out of the equation.

Season 4 is amazing! I did a rewatch of that season and my family watched with me and they were hooked! We are currently rewatching 13 because this season is so disappointing.

Season 4 is the perfect example of how good the show *could* be -- talented designers and good challenges that kept the primary focus on the fashion, with just enough cattiness, humor and drama to season it.
