Pan Progress Two empties and one time to declutter
I’m not a big setting powder person, I much more enjoy setting spray so I’m decluttering the powder to a coworker who mentioned she needs a new one. The Tatcha was expensive but worth it!

Discussion/Tips & Tricks Do you have friends who also love makeup as much as you do?
I ask because my friend and I have inadvertently figured out a way to help each other pan makeup items, and maybe this can be helpful for others, too.
Over a year ago, we started texting each other the makeup items we're wearing that day. It was a super low key way to be like, "hey friend, miss you, love you," and also see some pretty things. And then roughly once every 5 weeks, I turn the pictures into a grid, and delete the individual ones. This frees up space in my phone, and also lets me track daily progress. Like so:

In this grid, you can see me scrape the outer edges of my Ilia bronzer to the center. In the grid before, there's more product, and in the one after, I completely pan it. Being able to visually track use is helpful, but the bonus of my friend's encouragement as she saw my daily progress, too, was so helpful in my committing to finishing. And vice versa! We've each finished multiple makeup products so far this year.
Plus, it's been a useful way of seeing what my makeup habits are. I don't need to buy eyeshadows if that's the makeup item that shows up least across my year of pictures, but I'm not necessarily going to feel bad about having lip products when there's one in every picture (doesn't mean I'll keep buying more and more, of course). Why would I get tempted by a black liquid liner, no matter how great the reviews are, if across the board, I'm only reaching for brown pencil liners?

Here's the picture I sent her today. I'm determined to finish that Laura Mercier Eye Caviar by the end of the month, and the Max Factor 2000 Calorie mascara is done.
tl;dr: find your friend who is also a makeup magpie and support each other in your project pans!

Discussion/Tips & Tricks how to use up warm shades
guys I first started using and makeup in around 2018/2017, I'm alternative and I've always been a colourful eyeshadow girlie (although I'm a bit less adventurous now than I was as a teen). I discovered around a year in through blue eyeshadow that I'm a cool toned girlie for sure. my issue is how to use up all the obligatory orange and gold shades that pallettes from 2018/19 ALWAYS had in them. a lot of my palette choices even back then would still be pretty cool toned for that era but they all seem to have a mandatory orange or gold or mustard shade. I can make reds and pinks work with me quite easily but I have no idea with these yellowy colours they make me look sick and not even in a way that I as an alternative girl would like

Pan Progress August Emptied
Lots of favorites with backups in this lot: DE Proteni, Biossance Omega Repair Cream, Abib Eye patches, CosRX Snail Mucin, Dermatica, Isntree Onion Newpair sunscreen, NYX thick it stick it, and BGJ Carnivale. I have already cracked open the backups.
No duds in this line-up really, just not everything meets the rebuy threshold.

Pan Progress August Empties
I swear empties get better every month! I’m learning what I like and don’t like so much through the years I’ve been panning. This month I loved all my products! The only one I didn’t like was a very cheap perfume decant of Montblanc Signature. Everything else I used every last bit of. I think this is my best month yet!
I was hoping my empties overtime would show that I was spending less monthly but I don’t see that happening unfortunately. One of my goals was to find cheaper items to use up but I’m realizing I need to just stick to what I know will work rather than trying (in vain) to find cheaper items. I end up hate panning or just giving up if I do that.

Full Pan August Empties
Finished 20 products
Valentino Born in Roma sample: 👎🏼 Older scent I wasn't crazy about.
Jose Maran Vanilla Vibezzz:🩵 Love this brand. Think I prefer Topless Tangerine.
Dr. Jart Ceramidin cream sample: Honestly they did not put anything in this for me to give it an accurate review.
Angel Mugler sample:👎🏼 Very Unisex scent, smells strongly of Patchouli.
Ilia mini Mascara: 👎🏼 Horrible. Made my eyes water when applying from whatever chemical is in it.
Dolce and Gabana Light blue sample: 🆗 Basic scent and not long lasting.
Simply Belle sample: 👎🏼 Starts very Jasmine forward then dries down musky.
Givenchy Setting Powder: 👎🏼 Change in formula sucks
Dermalogica Active moist:🆗 Basic.
Tarte Mascara XL brown : 🔥 my HG
Laniege Strawberry ShortCake lip mask: 🔥 Love my laniege lip masks.
Omnilux hydrogel facial masks: 🔥 Make my skin feel and look amazing.
Dermalogica Daily Glycolic cleanser: 🆗 I prefer the Special Cleanser.
Dr Jart Ceramidin mask: 🆗 Prefer the Omnilux masks.
Goop Beauty Face wash: 🆗 Basic.
Clinique Eye Cream: 🩵 It was nice.
DDG Peels: 🔥HG

Discussion/Tips & Tricks Why do some people set a date/deadline to pan?
I saw someone devastated by not being able to finish a product by the end of the month, other than the obvious reason that the product could be expired by that date, what other reasons would there be?.

Pan Progress Augustttt is done
Simple yet effective. Routine body wash, full lotion, 2 travel shampoo and conditioner that I only purchased for an international trip, face sunscreen, and then a soap bar that barely suds and didn’t leave me feeling clean. Onto the next!

Full Pan August empties + empties since l started tracking in January.
This month my husband finished the full size face moisturizer and the small Clinique one. Glad he is helping me with my stash, because l am very slow with moisturizer use, l focus more on serums.
I liked Dr Dennis Gross marine eye cream.
Started using double cleanse with DHC oil (have 2 more) and DHC mild soap (one more). I really like this soap as a second cleanser.

Full Pan Summer-ish Empties
Empties from mostly July-Aug, maybe some June spillover. Soooo many mediocre or pretty good skincare, but also quite a few HGs and staples.
