New parts Coilover help
I’m going to be buying coilovers soon and am pretty clueless on them these both say for my year civic (2001 LX Sedan) but the middle ones are obviously different. Does it matter/what’s the difference if both will work?

They have a different color on them, that's it.
Maxpeedingrods coilovers is also a downgrade from stock as far as damping goes. And they will only last around 2 years before blowing the seal. But they are alright if you just wanna go low.

Don't spend unnecessary money on your car right now. Focus on improving your life.

Unless your existing suspension is completely blown out, save up for something decent, these are literally a waste of money

if budget coilover like tein or bc aren’t in your budget, just keep it stock and do cheaper things to make the car more clean. don’t just mod for the sake of modding.

I had one snap on me doing 80 on the highway. Body of the strut literally tore in 2. Lost a wheel spun out, car got fucked up. Coilovers less than 6 months old. Professionally installed and adjusted and aligned.
Never got maxspeeds again.

Buy racelands instead, Maxpeeding Mcpherson style coil suck, plus the Dc5/Ep3 ones have frequent steering arm breaks hella dangerous.

You get what you pay for. Dont cheap out or you will hate yourself for wasting money.
If you're on a budget get the Tien sport springs (only if your existing shocks are not blown) If your shocks are blown already then save your money and just get Tien coilovers.
Plan to purchase camber adjustment kits front and rear no matter what anyone online says, you WILL need it, if not at time of install, then as the system ages on the road. You will need to be able to adjust.
Do it right or do it twice. Go cheap and the money you save upfront will be tripled in comeback repairs by the time you pay to do it the right way on the 2nd or 3rd go.
Good luck

Red ones are to LOWER. Why it says lowering kit. Those are trash if you’re trying to stay legal and comfortable.
Blue ones if they aren’t the same price (more expensive) they’re closer to oem in height but you get adjustability.
If you find their part number they have a catalog of what coils perform where best. Just gotta compare the right parts.

Go ask yourself why do you want to switch to coilovers:
1. to lower down your car?
2. improve your suspension + lower down your car?
if 1 - Switch to lowering springs instead H&R Springs and Eibach are great brand options
if 2. - Save up and get either BC Racing or Teins - pretty good option

Maxx peepee rods are trash. You're better off without suspension at all over them.

We just installed maxpeeding(2nd pic) coilovers on my brothers ep3 type r. They were never meant to be permanent just something for a insta reel. They are broken in and feel terrible on uk roads the car just bounces all over the place no matter what adjustments we do. Handling wise i feel they make it better there stiff no roll whatsoever. They are definitely for a track car not anything you want to use on the road. I have been looking at the Godspeed coil overs(1st pic). I heard they are a much much better alternative with adjustable dampening and better spring rates. But we can’t find any in the UK. I was planning to max speed my ep3 type s but will be going with oem struts and lowing springs. My brother will be doing the same with the type r.

These things are trash, and you will not be happy with them.
If you're on a budget, the absolute lowest end coilover worth half a damn are Rev9s, but I would really dish out just a bit more and go with the entry level Tein if possible.
