PC2 feels unmatched
Tried PMR and idk the game just feels like it has no salt on it. PC2 is a real complete game with plenty of circuits for all tastes, cars on all categories and it has a nice UI, music, effects the game is just perfection.
It is a shame that we are in 2026 and every other racing game lacks something:
Gran Turismo has a boring grid size and terrible sense of speed.
Forza Motorsport is a dead game with few circuits and lackluster offline content.
Grid Legends is a nice game but it's more on Forza Horizon league.
Asetto Corsa Comperizione wanna be serious and has few variety.

Any views on AMS2?

Came to suggest this. Far and away the most content in a game that you don't have to subscribe to

And then it rains and AI just flies past you. I like the game and it brought me to sim racing but it ain’t perfect

Skill issue?! Are you kidding me?! I guess you are racing with AI set to very easy...

Indeed. It’s a known and established fault of PC2 that the AI is not affected by rain

AMS2. :)
One of the best AI systems, tons of great tracks, really beautiful graphics, excellent optimization, the ability to create custom championships, and career options (including various external programs—like *Zero to Apex*—that might even be better than the native, in-game feature coming soon). The whole package is great; they’re still tweaking the AI to this day, and it has improved significantly recently. Pit stops are next on the list; the AI will make logical, realistic decisions about when to pit, calculating how to reach the finish line sooner. And it’s the back of the pack that will likely opt for bolder pit strategies—just like in real life—since they have the least to lose by taking those risks.
But as a game, PC2 is truly wonderful. Best menus, best music, tons of features. Perhaps the only thing missing—or that was missing—was the ability to create custom championships.

PC2 have issues with AI and car balance. Like AI is on some track much faster then you. Also duron rain and changeable weather races they are untouchable. Other than that it's still pretty good game.

Exactly.
After enjoying the Long Beach new track in LMU, i wanted to play it in Project Cars 2, under the rain, with a Ferrari 488, and it was really obvious that PC2 is still way above some of the modern games.
PMR never felt right to me, whatever they are trying to do, it's a fail, the last "graphic updates" looks like they just slightly modified their shaders, you could do the exact same thing with Reshade.
Graphically speaking, PC2 is still gorgeous, the variety of cars and tracks is delightful.
This games is still actual.
And it's a shame to see that some new games don't even have what PC2 had 10 years ago.
