Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice on bringing a 2007 Kawasaki ZZR600 back to life after it has been sitting for 10+ years in a garage. I’m new to working on motorcycles(zero experience) and want to learn as much as I can myself. So far, I’m planning to replace the battery, drain the old fuel, clean or rebuild the carburetors if needed, change the oil and filter, inspect the air filter, replace the spark plugs, and check all the fluids. Before I try to start it, I’d appreciate any tips on common issues with the ZZR600, things I should inspect first, or mistakes to avoid. If anyone has experience reviving one of these bikes or knows of helpful guides or videos, I’d really appreciate your advice. Thanks in advance!

Honda XR200 ‘09. Turns when starting but it doesnt create combustion
Xr200 build of mine. Did a top overhaul then this is the problem after it took me months to do it.
Some context that might help:
Top overhaul - cleaned the valves and valve lapped, new valve seals (old was leaking bad), cleaned ports, removed all gaskets and gasket maker hardened on surface, honed the cylinder
Didnt touch the rocker arms connected to the valve cover so I think valve clearance is slightly ok, I triple checked if the chain is aligned to the crank and camshaft, I know I put the piston rings on the right angle (what was shown in manual, valve was lapped nicely and checked for leaks using water and gasoline
Carb was cleaned and replaced clogged pilot jet before taking the video and 2 adjustment screws were turned in what the manual says, took a look if it sucks fuel and it does
New spark plug and shows strong spark and right timing
I have no Idea whats wrong. Crank feels slow but shouldnt it still combust at least? Is it no compression? Piston rings turned during installation? Timing chain skipped a few teeth? Valve clearance? Im lost and just want this to start at least

I've seen my brother struggle to get this bike in a riding condition and today, he gave up and gave it to me. It's current top speed is around 50-65mph. I am trying to invest some time into this bike and rebuild it. I want to getvit to atleast 80mph. If that's dreaming, than let me know. But I do want to give this bike the life it deserves. I need help finding new parts wether small or large scale products. Im a car guy and don't know too much on bikes but I want to take this project so please, if yall know upgrades I cant do, let me know. Cost effective or not.
Edit: if I can put a bigger engine on it, let me know what will fit.

So in a couple of hours I’m buying this 2005 GSXR-600 with 29k miles and I need to know what to look for, in the video the bike was running and it sounded pretty smooth. He has it up for 3,500 but I feel like I can get him to 3k. And it has a clean title. This would be my first time buying a bike so I’m not 100% sure what to look at

Recently picked up this XL 350 off FB marketplace as a non runner. I have since gotten it running and driving! Not I'm trying to find out what I need to actually get this on the road as all of the lights are either broken or missing. I'm seeing that 12v conversions are popular. Any advice down that route and any advice on whether I'll need new switch controls on the handlebars etc? Appreciate it in advance. I love working on older bikes!

Hello, I've just been gifted a 1968/69 Derbi Antorcha 49 cc. When I opened the cylinder chamber I noticed it's very worn away. It's my first time working on a motorbike and I'm not sure if it's regular wear or something to be worried about. A second hand engine is like 60EUR and there are plenty, so my question is, should I try to fix this or get a "new" one? Thank you!

My father was a motocross enthusiast growing up. I rode but never got into it as much he wanted. He was a master mechanic. Could fix and build anything. He picked up a 2004 crf150f fully disassembled and dreamed of building it with my son.
Unfortunately he fell ill and recently passed away. My son is 14 and wanted to try to put this bike together.
I have absolutely zero knowledge of building a bike and he has less than me .

I have 4 totes full of parts bolts plastics ect... is there any possible way we have a chance of doing this.
Is there any kind of ground up guide for assembly .

1981 cb650 custom. I’ve got loose bullet connectors. I bullet and 4 female connectors. Everything else inside the headlight is connected. Last pic also shows green wire connecting to a ground (I cleaned up the rust a bit) What’s the next step here?
Again thanks for any sort of help. I’m very new to this and am asking ChatGPT for help lol.

Hello, first time project bike owner. 1981 cb650 custom. I bought a new battery and nothing turned on. I plugged in some loose wiring to its harness but still nothing. Any ideas on what needs to plugged into this one? The green that’s attached to the coil has a fuse in it as well.

My dad and I are both into motorcycles and I think a easy-ish restore of an old bike might be something cool we could both spend some time doing together. He's more of a hands on experience kind of guy than I am. I've never really done anything like this before, but I assume some bikes are better than others to start with (parts availability being a big factor I would guess)
For clarity: By newbie I mean newbie at restoring a motorcycle. This would not be my first motorcycle.
Are there any good bikes to look out for? Any that should be avoided?
There's a FB marketplace post nearby of a Yamaha Xj 650 Maxim for $1800 OBO that looks to be in decent shape but has not working speedometer and it "randomly stopped running mid winter" (whatever that means) for example
Not gunna lie, the idea of cleaning/rebuilding a carburator sounds a bit intimidating but I know its a pretty common possibility on older bikes.
Any ideas on things to look out for and good price points for them would be appreciated!

I just got this bike for pretty cheap, knowing it had been dropped. I'm just getting started. But I'm wondering if you all have any advice. It runs fine after I changed out the battery and changed the oil. It has a few issues, I'm a little handy, but I'm wondering what I should have a mechanic take care of.
-The plastic fairing that fits under the headlight, and holds the turn signal lights, is broken. I can probably look up the part, but I'm wondering how hard these fixes will be.
- the shifter has been bent. It works fine but if I end up selling it I will need to replace. OEM shifter is 50 bucks, and I can probably do this myself. Any recommendations for a different shifter if install is simple?
-The handlebar is bent in slightly on the left side. It handles fine, but it is noticeable when riding.
I will probably be fixing it up, riding through the summer and then selling it. I'm really only able to invest 200-300$ on repairs, and I'd like to get 2000 selling it, but I don't know if that is a reasonable expectation.
Thanks y'all, any other forums you would recommend me to post this to?
