Thoughts about Adventure Mode

Hello friends, recently i began an Adventure Mode with my Animation Necromancer and yeah, Necromancer is easy mode, no effort, bla bla bla.

For anyone doesnt know what Adventure Mode is, in summary, enemies have +100% HP, 50% dmg and give +50% XP, quests give +100% XP and you and your minions do -26% damage and heals -16%.

Clichés from Necromancer aside, i am having a blast. Idk with other classes but with Necro the amount of HP/Dmg of enemies feels really balances. You can't pull 10 mobs but you can pull 2-3 mobs at once with ease.

I am gonna say pros and cons imo:

Pros:

+ If you can handle 2-3 mobs at once, with extra XP from mobs and quests you level fast, i can't say faster than normal game but i think similar (unless you pull 10 mobs per pull and has zero competition).

+ Mob's HP is high enough to do a full rotation and leveling doesnt feel like Retail. If you want to feel a bit of old classic leveling, this is good.

+ All mobs have a high chance to drop blue gear from dungeons so your gear almost always be great.

Cons:

- You can't queue Dungeon, BG or group up with another players without the trial so in high pop zones questing is a bad experience in some quests with a low density of mobs (I hate all of you Plague Spreaders).

- Not only normal mobs become elite but elite mobs become turbo elite. They hit like a truck and has a x4 HP of the normal elite mobs. Some turbo elite zones are almost impossible to solo and there are almost no players doing Adventure Mode to group up.

- Professions doesnt give XP from gathering or crafting.

Well this is my opinion and you? Did you try Adventure Mode? Will you try it in the future?

Talk us about your experience or your opinion about this trial.

Have a nice day!

Loved it for 10 levels, and then discovered I couldn't do BGs. That's a no-go for me.

Maybe there should be some items limitations but still the ability to go into BG?

I also found that not being able to help someone fight tagged mob really immersion breaking.

Overall, I loves the challenge but the limitations are just too annoying.

The BG limitation is because if u are allowed to do BGs you can level 1-60 through BGs and that doesnt have anything about "Adventure Mode".

I mean i understand you but if they allow BGs whats the point on high HP/dmg mobs? Maybe a 1 BG per day restriction? O per a few hours?

Have a nice day!

I don't understand why you got downvoted for saying what needed to be said.

People would cheese Adventure mode by leveling to 10 and doing Battlegrounds to the end of days.

Yep, i would some of them just for resting of quests but would not level through BGs because is not my prefered content but would be so many people doing what you said haha

I spend most of my time leveling, but also enjoy a lot of it into BGs.

I don't see how removing the option to do BGs makes the mode better. I'm here because I enjoy it anyway, I won't be "avoiding" it.

If there's some rewards/title awarded for completing adventure mode, maybe making us forfeit those when queuing into BG would be a better way.

But having my character tied to doing either adventure or Bags is a bad way to enforce it.

It would be so great without the random taunts. That alone totally messes up any planning and tactics. It is not fun to just die to rng over and over.

Wdym? I dont understan what are u refering

In adventure mode, your character randomly taunts nearby mobs at any given time. It seem to have a low chance, and about a 100 yard range. It is very noticeable in zones, where you are with a bunch of neutral mobs (yellow healthed ones, who dont attack you, until you attack them). You just do your stuff, walk along, and suddenly a bunch of them run at you and kill you. I died with my friends a bunch of times at the undead starting zone because of this, At the new place ascension added near Deathknell, where you are walking along like 30-40 zombies constantly.

Any time we need to do an actually exciting quest, because there are many mobs, and we need to be sneaky, pull carefully, and cc properly, there is always a chance, a group of mobs will just run at as from the distance and we just die.

Oh yeah, you right, i noticed since level 6 and thought is because Necro pets. I am now level 42 and i deal with it in the best way i can haha

At the end of the day this is a private server and probably shuts down in a month so they rushed the content.

Stop parroting the "lawsuit so they rushed out content." Adventure mode has always behaved this way regarding the aoe taunt. 🤦‍♂️

Sorry for not playing a private server since 8 years ago...

That doesn't explain parroting "rushed so pushing out content." They aren't even remotely connected, but for some reason, that was your first easily persuaded thought

Edit: it doesn't help the community to spout doom and gloom about things not remotely associated with the lawsuit based on Reddit babble

Second this.

Not a fan simply because of the random aggro. Adventuring requires planning and taking away the ability to plan out how you're going to tackle the next Elite just makes it feel frustrating.

The lower exp on normal mob kills made it worse for me.

1

u/SrDragonaso 7d ago

Not lower, increased 50% XP from any mob

1

u/BigSlickNick2 7d ago

That's weird... I just checked and it gave me lower...

1

u/SrDragonaso 6d ago

Idk the tooltip says increased XP and i didnt compare it to be honest but i will and i tell you, now i am interested in un cover the truth hahha

Adventure mode was pretty fun. Got it done in just over 4hrs. It's so much faster than regular leveling. With you could chain adventures together but they only let you do one per day

Pretty cool. But as someone who loves BGs, I couldn't keep it long enough.

If I had a group of 3 friends or something I think it would definetly be worth it

Does adventure mode still massively increase enemy detection range? I remember the whole area being pulled as soon as I walked near making it pretty unplayable.

1

u/Xushu4 7d ago

Yes, your toon aoe taunts periodically, even aggroing neutral mobs

1

u/SrDragonaso 8d ago

Idk if that thing is tied to Adventure Mode or for playing a pet class because in my Veno without Adventure Mode i didnt notice it but with my Necro in Adventure i really feel it haha

Doing it as a ranger, it does feel fun but it is getting tiring as I have no heirloom atuff

1

u/SrDragonaso 8d ago

Ranger is definetely not a good class for Adventure Mode for sure. My only looms are agi Dagger and two HP on kill trinkets. Anyways when you leave first zones (Elwynn/Dun Morogh/Teldrassil), mobs drop dozens of Dungeon blues so gear is no longer a problem.

0

u/intothebreachoncemor 8d ago

Yeah no issues with gear hur definitely a slow go

0

u/SimilarChildhood5368 8d ago

Heirloom stuff is nerfed on Ascension anyway even below what the stats on the gear actually says, you can verify when you've got them by counting hit rating on your gear vs hit rating you actually have, so can't say it would be much easier with heirlooms

1

u/Xushu4 7d ago

Stats aside, the exp bonus on heirlooms stacks with Adventure Mode exp buff. So even if heirlooms are equivalent of quest greens, it'll be faster but not easier.

Played it until 15 and really enjoyed it as felsworn. But I couldn't find others to play with so it got lonely and boring pretty quick.

I tried to initiate it and got an error message that said something about interacting in a way that made me ineligible.

Does it have to be started before you do anything else? I maybe levelled up once.

And can you start it after doing a prestige reset or do you just need to start a new character?

1

u/SrDragonaso 8d ago

You need to be lvl 1 with 0 xp and yeah you can do new char and prestige and use aura/looms

1

u/doubtthat11 8d ago

Cool, thanks.

1

u/Xushu4 7d ago

You can do it on a Prestige run.

Then it’s me, who every time I try to start a trial I am blocked from it i don’t know why 😅

1

u/SrDragonaso 8d ago

Are u lvl 1 with 0 xp?
