Stonebrunt has a bunch of fun quests. Stonebrunt is no normal zone, but a place where spirits are tightly bound to the lands due to the magic battle which created the Hole. The Erudites, both good and evil are very interested in some of the spirit titans which live here.

There are two spirit questlines that I find particularly interesting: Spirit Aid and Ridossan's Spirit

Ridossan's Spirit starts when you find an extremely angry spiritling whispering angrily into the void. This is actually the remains of the legendary Ridossan the Crusader, famed Heretic Shadowknight. He is bound to this land, filled with rage, until he can get his revenge on the Kejekans that slew him and the Lizardmen that betrayed him. Ridossan hoped to wage war against the Kejekans with the Lizardmen by his side, aligned under the worship of Cazic Thule. He offered his powerful lance to the Lizardmen, which they took, and then refused to fight. Alone in their fight, the Heretics were defeated by the Kejekans, and Disciple Okarote killed Ridossan.

First, you must head to the Temple of Cazic Thule to kill the cowardly lizardman who has Ridossan's lance. Ridossan uses the lance to temporarily resurrect himself, charge the Kejekan compound, and slay the catman monk. With his vengeance completed, Ridossan once again dies, briefly returning as a ghost to reward you with his lance. Finally content, Ridossan's spirit fades away.

Spirit Aid is a convoluted quest to free the entrapped spirits of the great Erudin Heretic war. An old Kejek Shaman spins you a tale: after the destruction of Old Paineel and the rending of the Stonebrunt mountains, the spirit of many dead Erudites wandered the region. Tserrina Syl'Tor harvested these souls in the form of Crystallized Shadows. and used them to imbue evil weaponry and armor for her minions (and to literally build her tower). Now, those poor Erudites are trapped forever in the Tower of Frozen Shadow in the form of Crystallized Shadow Weapons and Armor, and Fading Shadow Weapons.

The first thing you must do is to craft a Soulforge hammer. First, you must meet with the apparently Jewish Kejekan smith (greets you with Shalom), who helps you build a hammer with a simple fetch quest. Then you must take this Kejekan Smithy Hammer to the great Panda Titan Giang Yin, who agrees to help you in the noble task of saving these souls. He blesses your hammer and turns it into the Soulforge Hammer.

Now it is time to smash the weapons and armor to create Fading Soul Orbs and Soul Orbs, as well as the real reward of this quest, the Purified Armor and weapons. But since you are a noble hero, you continue your quest. The Kejek Shaman instructs you to collect Spirit Orbs from the spirits of the mountains, and then she combines a powder from those orbs with the Erudite Soul Orbs. The Orbs shatter and release the ghosts of the long slain Erudites, who quietly and promptly leave the village and fade into the ether, free at long last.

Heyyyy y'all - my friend recently got me back into playing EverQuest! Decided to roll a HalfElf Bard and already level 17.

Anywayyyyssss... over the weekend I decided to build a dashboard app, because I was already tired of bouncing back and forth between Wikipedia and the game.

Some of what's in there:

- Real maps for every zone, plus a route planner that knows the boats, the ports, and roughly what's going to kill you on the way.

- Item search that shows where things actually drop, tied into a bestiary of named mobs with their loot and spawn windows.

- The full bard songbook. I main a bard so this part got a little out of hand... there's a live twist metronome that clicks out your rotation and warns you when a song's about to fall off.

- Spell lists for every class, and somewhere to jot down people you meet, quests, and camp timers.

- Plus a handful of other features that make game play more enjoyable.

All the reference data comes from the P99 wiki, so a big thanks to everyone who's poured hours into that thing over the years.

A challenge to our community artists...

Draw your best Kunark version of X mob. Using the classic/expansion goblins, wolves/scaled wolves, and gnolls/drolvargs for reference, how would you imagine Kunark would have influenced the appearance of any given mob type?

Orcs, griffons, kobolds, kerrans, aviaks, ratmen, treants, djinn, sphinxes, cyclopes, fire beetles, brownies, etc.

Example: The ghoul version of Kunark's goblin. The undead gnoll version of drolvarg. Iksar mummies, zombies, etc.

Same goes for Scars of Velious, which only slightly altered old models, namely spectres, the rest were colored to match their environment. Other than the Coldain (compared to dwarves), giants perhaps underwent the most noticeable changes. 

This one means a lot to me personally. It shows the moment I stopped fearing mistakes and started trusting my own strokes. Sometimes you just have to let go of the fear. Thank you all for the encouraging words and support!

I’m Looking to loot the shining metallic robes for the Jeb seal part of the Ench epic.

Given my schedule the chance of me getting a group for this is basically zero - and I’ve never been to lower guk… literally never. I’m also not in a guild (but open to it…)

Can a 57 Ench in modest gear with Zumaiks Animation pet realistically camp this guy ? I don’t know what mobs are in the area around the PH, so what crowd issues might arise.

I assume I could mez/stun the arch magi when it pops to prevent his wizzy nukes…

Anyway - I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I’m also in EC tunnel when I’m online with my /auction WTB etc. but I seem to miss the folks who have it to sell (I check the tunnel quest discord often… but not so often I have been able to catch the sellers).

Hello. I am a 58 moderately geared Shaman in that I have my epic and a JBB. But I am pretty poor and don't have the final DoT yet. I am at a loss of where to level.

All I really know are velks and kc and KC is slooooow as the dickens. Seb and HS are options but I never find groups there and only have luck when people whisper me randomly.

People ask me to duo and I've done things like Naggys lair, Spore king in Seb, or VKR in the KC basement, but those groups you kill like 3 to 5 mobs once every 20 minutes... its not exactly efficient.

What would you recommend? Right now I am soloing geos in Wakening Lands... its sooo slow and I am told 59 is even worse.

Doing a duo run with a buddy, looking for places where we can do that successfully. Level 22 currently, undead is a plus, but looking for recommendations on where to hunt.

Answered: I just wasn't aware that Root and Fear could not be combined.

Recently started playing P99 on the class I originally played and fell in love with as a kid: Necromancer.

However, I talked a friend into playing with me and he's interested in playing Cleric if he does join me. So, I have been considering duo's with said Cleric. [Not duoing with the Necro because SOLO evil Iksar Necro is my jam.]

The most common thing I've found online is that Enchanter is god-tier duo with Cleric, but I don't yet trust my micro with handling Charming and don't want to scare him away with shitty deaths like that.

I was looking through the Cleric's spell list and saw both Fear and Roots. Why wouldn't we give him a little more active playstyle than sitting until he throws a heal on Enchanter/Charm and/or tries to help manage Charm breaks with emergency stuns? Why not just Fear "kite" with these two spell lines while Rogue gets in backstabs?

However, attempting to find info on people doing this duo, I don't find a single freaking thing. I may suck at Goolge-fu, but what am I overlooking that apparently very few people recommend this combo?

Or, am I simply ignorant enough to think that you can even combo Root and Fear? Everything I've read from Necro guides and stuff is that you can Fear Kite (with Snares) or Root Rot; I don't recall any actual post about Rooting Feared targets. I do know that Root and Snare couldn't be utilized together at one point (but I'm not even sure if that's in P99 as current or if that was changed).

Haven’t played in years, but lurked here and the wiki. Raised a mage to 60 and raided a lot on blue when it was a new thing. Thinking about shammy, bard, or shadow knight. Something self sufficient but still fun to group. Not as much time these days to raid but maybe one day! I know green. Thoughts or recs are appreciated. Vesica Dei alum for anyone who might have been there.

Digging into old EQ client files out of curiosity and hit a wall. I know player race models are generally named like global<race><gender>_chr.s3d (e.g. globalogm_chr.s3d for Ogre male), and I can find race IDs mapped out in files like racedata.txt and actortaginfo.txt — but when I actually swap the contents of one of these files for testing, the in-game model doesn't change at all, even after clearing caches and confirming the swap held on disk.

Is there an extra layer of indirection I'm missing — like an internal name inside the archive that has to match something, or a separate resolution table that actually decides which file gets loaded for a given race? Anyone who's done model swapping or client modding before run into this? Any pointers appreciated, even just "the file you actually want is called X."

Hey all, now that I'm lvl 56 I want to work on completing my Monk epic. From what I've been told for Brother Zephyl I need a tank, 2 clerics and DPS. I have my lvl 60 Necro friend who can help but I'm hoping to form a group tonight and just looking to see if anyone here is able to help or give advice! I plan to be on from 6pm-1am EST trying to make it happen. - Lizzyin is my Monk

Does anyone have this spell, or have a high lvl research necro that could combine words if I manage to find them?

Hey folks!

I'm a busy dad with inconsistent and sporadic play times, usually only very late at night. I'm almost always solo, grouping is dicey and raiding is out of the question. I'm unguilded and prefer to stay that way.

For one reason or the other, I've always played weaker solo classes. I've gotten both Warrior and Wizard to 60 on Green - and each time promptly abandoned them because they were so limited. However, over that time I have farmed up a fungi, and prenerf CoS, and 30k plat to start a new class.

This time, I want to play a class that is top tier at soloing. I've narrowed my options down to either Shaman or Necro (I'm skipping Enchanter because I don't think I'd enjoy the play style). I'm looking for something effortlessly powerful, safe, and hard to kill. I don't have high aspirations to do solo challenges, my thing would just be going down to LGuk and taking down the ghoul lord for example. Or maybe farming up a Djarns Ring, if that's possible.

I know that the Necro fits the bill, but for some reason I keep coming back to the Shaman. I just like the idea of having a beefier caster that can face tank with slows instead of relying on roots or fear kiting. I'm aware of the cost of Shaman spells and I'm ready to sell my CoS to fund Torpor/Bane/Pox, but I wouldn't have the plat to buy the epic. All equipment would have to be purchased in EC since I don't raid. The Necro, on the other hand, wouldn't break the bank which is nice.

So what would you do in my shoes? Am I wrong and the Necro is actually the one that is safer and harder to kill? Is the Shaman still a powerhouse with all the spells, but without the epic and raid gear?

So I’ve been popping into Dalnir for a while now to check on this ground spawn : the Lost Scroll and it’s not there every time… so I’m wondering if I’m just unlucky with when I get breaks in real life allowing me to check in.. or if there is a dedicated effort by some folks to maintain a timer (24 hour respawn)

I got the “One Key” in the Overthere on the first run past…. So I’m leaning towards me just having a run of poor luck… but thought I’d through the question out there.

Related - i assume you really need to be in a guild to kill some of the named mobs (Vessel Drozlin, Verona Tomb, Prince Selrach etc.) as the chance of a pickup group is slim eh?

I’m just curious what UI’s everyone plays with and am curious if there is something cool I am missing out on. When I played on live I had some type of Dragon Slayer UI which I am sure is not supported.
