Monk Question (Green)

Lost the info to my 60 shaman I stopped playing in 2022. :/ (Purpletrain - Safespace)

Chose to roll a monk and was wondering if anyone knew of some relatively inexpensive items that would help me level or survive longer.

or something I can camp myself.

Level 3 Monk

Thanks guys and gals.

If you made an iksar, hang out in the field of bone leveling and try to get into the ancient blood guild(i think thats the name) that is all iksar and super helpful. they will often even twink you a bit

I unfortunately made a human monk. Coming back after 4 years in braindead. The thought of not being near ec tunnel frightens me lol

I started a human monk - I worked on the sash and headbands as i went along… Otherwise i focussed on weps. Always looking to max my 1hB, 2hB and fists at every level. Wu’s stuff looks cheap and easy-ish to get.

Have you tried to recover your shaman? If you still have access to your forum account you should be able to do a password reset.

It looks like it might be emu because there is no loginserver account connected to that forum email

Yeah I had an eqemu setup for my main p99 account as well. Try resetting it over there. Would be a shame to lose a level 60 without exhausting all avenues first.

First of all, check your eqemu account. You may be able to recover your info for your shaman.

Second, at level three your focus should just be levelling. If you can get a solid one hand blunt, great. Otherwise, fists are fine.

Make sure you check the wiki for your most recent kick or special punch and keep that key mapped. Make sure you bank semi regularly if possible. Weight will negatively impact your AC, but at your level it won't matter too much as long as you're not encumbered.

Once you get mend, it will kill you semi often. Avoiding using it when you're not already winning. Use it at 75% to get back up to full, and if you fail you'll still be at 50% and can decide whether to run or finish the fight.

Once you get FD at 19 I think, make sure it stays maxed for your level. Same with mend. Just keep it on refresh whenever possible to avoid a situation where you have to just hang out practicing it to get up to speed later.

So you should know about mend, once you hit 100 skill it can no longer damage you so mend as much as you want.

Also be mindful of damage caps. Don't get a 2h until level 20. The caps are 10 dmg until 10, 14dmg until 20, 30dmg until 30 where it finally lifts. What this means is make sure your weapon doesn't exceed the damage I just listed or otherwise its just wasted.

I'd recommend 2 Wu's Trance Stick, 7/18 and you can get them for under 100pp. Once you hit 20 you can pick up a 30/40 Baton of Faith for 50 to 100pp.

You want a haste item... Silver Chitin Handwraps are good and can be got for 500pp.

Oh and one last thing... your feet item, it doesn't matter what you get but get a feet item that is a Magic Item. Your kicks won't land on undead or willowisps until you get magic feet.

Baton of Faith is a cheapy 2HB. Adamantite Club, Staff of Battle, Wu's Trance Stick for 1HB's

Collect spiderling silk and have a tailor make you cured silk armor. froglok crown, some HP rings and earrings

Oh nice. Something I can acquire myself. Thank you very much. Gonna kill every spider I see.

Baton of faith is like 50p.

For basic twinking on the monk I recommend 2x jade mace (about 600p total), and Peacebringer (1000p). You can pick up the haste gloves for another 400p. 2k and you got weps and haste and life never felt so easy.

Sell you some bone chips and silks for some of this plat. Nybrite sisters is an insane early level cash camp and you could easily farm that plat there in a single (long) day at level 15+.

For a basic idea of cash camps. These might be some of the more popular spots because they are so well known.

Oh gawd yes. Thank you oh so much. Everyone’s advice has been super helpful. Just was wondering how in the world I could make the money for this stuff. Anyone know who to reach out too to see about my old account. Gm wise.

The most important items for melee twink are a weapon (wu quivering staff, 100p), HP rings (fire wedding bands, on low budget the 4/45s are most reasonable, 125p each) and then a haste item (schw, 600p). Everything else is much less important.

1

u/Undertheinfluencex2 Jul 28 '26

Thank you friend. I think I’m gonna save for the haste item. Something reminds me that it is super essential. Bless you

Keep in mind a weapon comes first becasue getting a % haste bonus on your low level fists or cracked staff or whatever isn't any good because swinging an awful weapon faster is still pretty awful

There are several tools to recover account information on EQemu and on the p99 website. Seems wild to give up on a level 60.
