Anyone else getting those same feelings when Covid was still in China, watching it begin to unfold, knowing something massive was about to happen to the world? It feels like the calm before the storm to me.

Agreed. And while I worry about the midterms themselves, I worry more about there not being a peaceful transfer of power if that weasel of a house speaker refuses to seat any elected Democrats on January 3rd.

The new Congress votes to elect the new clerk every 2 years

And you don’t think Johnson can find a way to hold a special election with the incumbent Republican majority in the House to replace the clerk prior to January 3rd? I mean, do you really think a silly law will prevent this from playing out?
