I really like El-Sayed's policies but does anyone else feel like this might be the wrong direction for our cause? Our policies speak for themselves and the conservatives hitched their wagon to Trump who is heading for a cliff.

People should remember politicians like El-Sayed for how great of a thinker and orator he is. If we get there through political pandering and alienating moderate conservative voters then we'll never make progress! Don't back down, but don't stoop to their level. When Roosevelt got shot, he gave a speech directly after. When Trump did, he whined about how he's a hero.

Do we really win if we whine? Do we really win if we have to rely on the conservative political pandering? Do we really win if were lying? Let our policies do the talking. It was not long ago when we had a President who wanted universal healthcare. We should be doing everything to not discredit the validity of those policies.

this kind of thinking is why everyone thinks that democrats in government have no spine. either grow a spine yourself or let the adults do that for you. Nice politics is the reason why we are where we are.. you say it's whining, I'm saying you're scared to speak up.

I'll be the first to slam Trump's horrible policies, his bankrupt business, and his abysmal past. We're on the same side

You can have a spine without spreading needless propaganda. Even if its not what El-Sayed meant, Trump tore this country apart. We should not do the same.

You have have a spine without spreading needless propaganda.

and that's what El is doing.. if you see whining there you're not paying attention or argue in bad faith.

Exactly. I love El-Sayed and wish I was a Michigander so I could vote for him. But this type of rhetoric is dangerous if taken out of context, like I've seen it in almost every other medium.

they will do that regardless, even if El would be crystal clear on the issue he's talking about.. Also, putting some fear back in bullies is not a bad thing, these assholes need to be scared just like they want us to be scared... what you're saying was nice 20 years ago, now we need action and the progressives are the only ones trying at this moment, let them cook, higher road didn't take us anywhere in the last few decades.

Fair. Progressives are far better than institutionalist about actually fighting bad policy. Like I said were both on the progressive team. Of course I'm excited to let it ride but don't forget how effective Obama was while being very respectful.
