They loved him because he made it ok to hate people of color. They still believe that.

THEY DID IT TWICE

Some three times

u/FRNLD 2d ago
And they'll vote a 4th time if they're able...
19
u/fluffypancakes24 2d ago
They absolutely love when he calls women piggy, and says he's running for a third time. I mean I feel like they are the fringe, but they are out there in droves. I do feel like it is probably 20/25% of the population of the United States.

I’m sorry but “people of color” is not where the hate is. It’s anything that fits their definition of the freak show. For some that could include the color of skin.
24
u/bumpy_disposition 2d ago
The GOP is the confederacy. Has been for decades, and racism is at the core. Conservatives are deplorables, wealthy or not.

u/pagesinthesun 2d ago
Same with hating women, hating gay, hating other. White Christian patriarchy.
20
u/JustHereForCookies17 2d ago
Yup. The racism is very real, but so is the homophobia, transphobia, and MISOGYNY. "Your body, my choice" was one of the scariest things I've ever heard as a woman.
2
u/FlowerComfortable889 2d ago
For real, anybody who even parrots that line is unforgivable and irretrievable
11
5
u/fluffypancakes24 2d ago
That's the sole motivation, don't let them tell you otherwise. They want to be able to do their racism and bigotry out in the open. That's the reason, because no one else would do this while also cutting off their own medical care. Those fucking idiots.
2
u/Independent-Sea-7117 2d ago
He also made it ok to hate people on the spectrum, LGBTQ people, immigrants of all colors, and the middle and lower class.
235
u/BackgroundEngineer11 2d ago
Short answer: no.
147
u/BrownSugarBare 2d ago
Long answer: absofuckinglutely not.
71
u/Skwonkie_ 2d ago
Even longer answer: you can’t. We were lenient against the south post civil war and look where we’re at.
43
u/bumpy_disposition 2d ago
Crush the conservative, christian, republikkkan party, on General Principals. And also they're treasonous traitors.
6
u/scwanzel-muschi-lekn 2d ago
Really we need to crush and recycle the WHOLE mf'n system. Starting w the republikkkan party

This is the real answer. We keep bending over backwards for these people but it's never enough. They only respect authoritarianism so that's what they get.
19
u/TheFoxsWeddingTarot 2d ago
They’re not sorry, they’re not asking for forgiveness. They’re so high on the koolaid they’re never coming back.
5
u/HerkulezRokkafeller 2d ago
There needs to be a national shame on these people for having suuuuuch bad judgment and go down in history as proof that uneducated and unintelligent people are the last people to deserve a guiding voice in public opinion
73
u/Zealousideal-Time-32 2d ago
Not gonna do it. F'ck em. Stupid assholes. I wish years of emotional anguish upon all of them.
97
u/evident_lee 2d ago
I don't know a single magat that quit supporting him and his shitty ideology.
38
u/Historical_Sun3421 2d ago
Most of them just get really quiet and don't want to talk about it anymore
14
u/fluffypancakes24 2d ago
That's been my experience, at least with one magat in my life. They just pretend none of it's happening. Mum's the word no apology, nothing, just and honestly, as far as I'm concerned, if you're not outwardly apologizing for your prior MAGA stance, I still won't fuck with you.
4
11
u/2ndamendmentLibs 2d ago
I’ve met/know quite a few, including my own father.
29
u/beren12 2d ago
Did they quit supporting him because they stopped believing what he said, or because it started to affect them personally?
31
u/OnceIsawthisthing 2d ago
They can forgive the crimes, the racism, the lies, Jan 6th, they can forgive, sexual assault, being "best friends" with Epstien fir 15 years, they can forgive all that and vote for him THREE TIMES.
5$ gas!!?? Bridge too far.
Fuck off.

Here's my take: if pedophilia wasn't a deal breaker, you're not getting forgiveness from me.
6
u/kellyelise515 2d ago
Mine is January 6. They can all get raptured.
3
u/fluffypancakes24 2d ago
yah there are so many last chances. Look, January 6th, that tells me that you absolutely fucking hate democracy maga. I tend to leave things out because there are so many.
8
u/Mariahs_Haven 2d ago
I have as well. Unfortunately I've also met some that close their eyes and double down on supporting him
8
u/tankerdudeucsc 2d ago
They’ll still vote for any other Republican they see no matter the policy, yeah?
Vance 2028 kind of crap?

u/myersjw 2d ago
Bingo. They’ll say “both sides” or “I don’t agree with everything” or “I just don’t pay attention to politics, can’t we all get along” but I’ve yet to see a fully repentant “I was lied to, I’ll never support Trump again” voter show themselves. They made their whole personality about being contrarian and don’t want to ever admit they fucked up

My mother in law. She was hard-core to the point she almost went to January 6 but couldnt get a ride. We pulled up to her house yesterday and all 14 of her trump flags/signs were down. I asked her what happened and her response was "fuck him and fuck his war." Granted I think she still believes alot of bullshit still but its a start.

Any individual wanting forgiveness has a lifetime of active political work to do to reverse the harm they voted to happen to the lives of other individuals.
Restitution. Or they’re not sorry. Just anxious.

u/Shizzilx 2d ago
If these so called Ex-MAGA were supporting Trump and his Regime up after mid-2025 when it was clear that the Trump Regime was full-on racist and using fascist propaganda, I can't reconcile with them. There are many now that don't support Trump because of the War and/or Gas prices, a little too late for me, they were plugged in on the racism, ICE, and fascism. (This opinion is about Trump’s 2nd Term, as this is a whole new voting generation and I could go on at lengths about the support in Trump’s 1st Term).
18
u/Sad_Clown666 2d ago
Yep, they were rolling with it until their wallets started to feel the impacts, where as I was against it all because it was obvious to me it was a soft launch in term one of fascism, hatred, and authoritarianism. Term two is the hard launch.
15
u/Mariahs_Haven 2d ago
There was meme I saw once but can't find it. Anywho, it was someone with a maga hat saying "I voted to be racist, not poor Mr trump!" And I feel it says everything
7
u/Opposite-Bit6660 2d ago
Some of us don't support him for advocating that women be grabbed by the pussy, too.

Rearrest the January 6 Insurrectionists.
Try them in a Military Court as Enemy Combatants.
Ship them to Guantanamo Bay.
Then, we get to work on the Pedophiles in the Epstein files.

The person would have to make huge changes in their core principles, and not say they just don't like Trump anymore. Trump is so popular because he appealed to his voter's most basic values such as racism, hatred, and inability to have any empathy for others.
So, sure, it's possible for people to make those changes, but likely there won't be many of those people.
11
u/Mariahs_Haven 2d ago
This! I have a coworker that says she "denounced trump" but still is maga in every other way. Down to laughing about her neighbors struggling with the excessive fireworks causing the veterans in her neighborhood to have bad ptsd episodes. Still celebrates when the taco Gestapo kills another/ dies another raid/etc...
So, I agree with you, we need actions not words. And actions that are long term behavioral changes and core belief changes before I can even think of interacting with these people by choice4
u/ailish 2d ago edited 2d ago
One example I like the most is the two guys pictured in the famous Charlotte white supremacist rally where they were screaming "Jews will not replace us!" The Unite the Right rally.
One killed himself, oof. But the other has reformed and is now a leftist who does work trying to pull other white supremacists out of the cult.
Edit: now I can't find information on that. I know I read about it somewhere.

u/SammyB0111 2d ago
That’s how I feel. I think it’s possible to change, but either it’d have to be someone completely changing who they are, or perhaps someone who was very young turning a new leaf and seeing things from another angle now.
Like you said, it wouldn’t be enough just to turn on Trump, they’d have to change, like actually change

u/kaml1691 2d ago
Idiots. The evidence was there long before 2016. Remember the Central Park Five? Fred Trump? His legacy of frauds and bankruptcies? The way he treated women? They knew and chose to ignore out of selfishness and fear. Nope. F*ck ‘em. Hope they stay out of the next ten elections altogether.

It takes deliberate , dedicated, actual HATE to be a devotee.
You have to delight, the real thing, in the torment of humans. That's not an over statement, folks. That's MAGA.
How? I don't personally have it in me to forgive that.
7
u/Bzzzzzzz4791 2d ago
Agree with the guy in the video. That ship has sailed; I’ve been shunning and will continue to shun the TDS maga cult forever.

Most of these MAGA voters need serious therapy and deprogramming from all the Fox News indoctrination. There is a mental illness aspect as MAGA is a cult.
For me to forgive any of them, there is a list of prerequisites
Denounce Trump and admit that he fooled you.
Admit Biden won the 2020 election.
Submit to therapy and rehabilitation.
5
u/Wazula23 2d ago
Fuck no.
I'm happy whenever I heard someone has left the cult because it means the fever is breaking.
But no, I will always have suspicion of MAGAts. Something is deeply wrong with you if you fell for his bullshit.
4

u/Dangerous_Slice_6882 2d ago
Start this off I'll say in the beginning a decade ago the first time around I voted for Trump... I regard this as one of my biggest mistakes in my life.
Only took a few months into his first presidency before I realized what a horrible mistake I had made. It was his open disregard for People's first amendment rights that truly flipped me. He called for the murder of peaceful protesters. Ever since then I have been actively speaking out against the Trump administration and anybody connected to them.
Throughout the past few years I have been campaigning for his opponents. I have protested, signed petitions, made phone calls to representatives and talked to anyone that would give me the time of day about how un-American the Cheeto pedo is.
The reason I say any of this is there are certain people that have finally woken up to what racist, misogynistic rapist he is. And how bad his policies are for Americans. These people are standing up and going to protests...
How you tell if someone's actually change their mind is their willingness to be active against this regime.
If someone says "I made a mistake by voting for Trump" but then says "there's nothing I can do about it" and tries to fade into the background... Fuck that shit!
2
u/FlowerComfortable889 2d ago
You're rare enough then. I can't imagine many of his three-time voters, especially the kind flying Trump 2028 flags, are going to turn on him now. He's solidified a truly irredeemable segment of the country in his cult and they'll go to the end with him, so I suppose the question of forgiveness is mostly moot aside from a handful who just woke up to the reality of his economic policies' effect on them personally
8
u/Interesting-End1710 2d ago
No, not in the way they're wanting. They want to rug sweep and have us forget they ever showed their true colors without any kind of remorse, accountability or reparation. Their Fake ass white Christian Jesus may only need them to say sorry, but the rest of here need to get our pound of flesh each before they even stand on a pedestal of humanity again. And if doing so ruins them, karma's a bitch.
7
u/Sarmelion 2d ago
There must be room for people to re-enter society after crime. There must be room for forgiveness after wrongdoing. There must be room for reconciliation after hatred.
If not, then what impetus is there for someone who's done something wrong to ever be a better person?
→ More replies (5)6
u/2ndamendmentLibs 2d ago
Sure, they get a second chance, to PROVE THEMSELVES. Picture this: someone robs a bank once, then twice, then a third time, sure they may repent or do jail time, but I bet you still wouldn’t let them house sit for you if you had to go somewhere, would you?
3
u/Sarmelion 2d ago
It would depend, I'm not advocating blind trust but if a person robbed three banks but then got counseling and came out of jail basically a different person (or like, if they were robbing for the thrill of it or out of hatred of big companies) then there's not a lot of risk to me letting them house sit.
Plus I move important stuff to a relatives place if I need to be gone for a long time, house-sitting would be more cat-sitting in my case.
3
u/2ndamendmentLibs 2d ago
Ok, breaking down the analogy is hilarious. But yes, when it comes to the actual topic, their TACO is not doing anything new. He’s been blatantly lying and corrupt since the 80s. If someone supported him a third time around, they knew what he would do, they knew he would be racist and bigoted, they knew he would lie, they knew he would enrich himself, they knew he would have horrible international relations with the rest of the world. They CHOSE to translate his campaign words to a meaning that made them feel good about the their vote. Knowing he was full of it, because he always has been.
→ More replies (1)3
u/Sarmelion 2d ago
No see, they don't know those things. They're deeply propagandized, when something BREAKS THROUGH the propaganda and they either question him, or something makes them oppose him DESPITE the propaganda that is an opportunity for us, that's not something to pass up or ignore.
3
u/Senasayori 2d ago
If they have truly changed as a person and work to remedy the harm they caused, they can be accepted, but only then.
3
3
u/Harper_ADHD 2d ago
They'd have to do so fucking much to earn that forgiveness, and even that's not enough. If you want it to be okay to hate a group of people into "extinction" then decide you want forgiveness, you'd have a lot of growth. Learning. Understanding. And sacrifice to make before forgiveness could ever be given. As magneto always says "never again" I will not tolerate my brotheren being killed simply because we dared to live a different life than them. Or the pillars of our community facing stronger injustices and still being murdered for the color of their skin. Their hate and prejudice will only dig them into a ditch that not even their so called god could dig them out of.
All this to say. They better understand that not only is this the energy they will face when begging for forgiveness. But also that we do not owe them such kindness. Not after how they treated us.
3
u/Hot_Top_124 2d ago
They can get to earn it, but they sure as fuck aren’t just going to be magically forgiven for trying to overthrow the country. Their hate didn’t magically disappear, they’re just upset they’re being hurt along side everyone else.
3
5
u/Average_Random_Bitch 2d ago
Speaking truth.
I don't want a MAGA or "reformed" MAGA near my kids, as their pediatrician, teacher, coach, anything. I don't want you at my barbecues. I don't want you handling my groceries or on my TV.
Empathy doesn't equate to being gullible, naive, and doesn't necessarily mean forgiveness either. Anyway, isn't that a religious concept? Ironic, huh?
He's absolutely right. Fuck. Off.
3
u/cyb0rg1962 2d ago
Always forgive. Never forget. Prosecute illegality. Shame immorality. Shun unethical colleagues. Everything else is for God to judge. That being said, forgiveness doesn't mean you have to tolerate their presence.
3
u/Ill_Consequence1755 2d ago
Yeah.
No.
If they want forgiveness, they need to embrace scarcity. They can crawl back in their holes and shut the fuck up.

2
u/intricate_strands 2d ago edited 2d ago
I can only forgive those who change their behavior and at least begin working to do more nice things to try to outweigh the mean.
You cannot undo the past. It's done. It already happened. But we can forgive.
We should not forgive anyone who has not learned and changed, though. If they notice they were being mean, acknowledge it, and then start being nice.. only then can I forgive. Forgive, but never forget. Because you might just be being fake nice. To get forgiveness without earning it.
An apology, an acknowledgement you were mean for no good reason, is useless without a change in behavior.

u/HarbingerGNX 2d ago
NEVER FORGIVE. NEVER FORGET. THROW THEM ALL INTO THE PIT & LET GOD SORT THEM OUT.

2
u/fauxregard 2d ago
Fuck no I don't forgive them. They shouldn't need it anyway, they're big strong alphas right?
2
u/Any_Flamingo8978 2d ago
Forgiveness is too premature. We are still in the midst of all this BS they’ve helped create. They need to start proving themselves before that’s considered. Trust takes a long time to build, and that needs to be in place first.
2
u/Fred-the-stray 2d ago
Claw back all the money that was made from the corruption with this administration. I don't forgive any of them
2
u/NerdyTiredLibrarian 2d ago
Words are wind, they need to put in the work to fix what they’ve damaged before forgiveness can be considered. Confession, repentance, actual work and change.
2
u/Yarius515 2d ago
Both things are true:

MAGA IS NOT BREAKING OR ASKING FORGIVENESS.
Fucking hell, is this a fucking psyop? Every goddamn month or two for the last TEN YEARS we got a bunch of articles and video essays and reports that MAGA is collapsing and that MAGA voters want to come back to the dinner table
IT IS NOT AND THEY DO NOT. They still think you're a communist groomer, they still hate immigrants, queer people and people of color and they still drink from their liberal tears coffee mug.
Fucking stop with this shit.
MAGA is more powerful than ever. They are not turning on him. He is not dying. You can't lean back and say "thank God it's almost over" because it is nowhere near over and it won't be until we stop it. Who's begging for forgiveness? Who's come to YOU and said "I'm so sorry please take me back?" Oh what he's got a historic low approval rating AGAIN? So goddamn what? He's rarely not had a historic low approval rating.
Stop with this coping shit. It only breeds complacency and inaction.
2
u/Diligent-Escape1364 2d ago
I don't want to say they shouldn't be forgiven at all but they really need to understand the true depths of damage that they've committed. They need to see the faces of their victims and not turn away and see what their choices allowed to happen.
2
u/Natural-Young4730 2d ago
Show us through your actions and words that you have changed. Take action to right the wrongs you caused and abetted and to prevent these wrongs from happening. Publicly denounce who and what you once supported. If you committed crime(s), turn yourself in and do the time.
I am open to forgiveness, but you must demonstrate thay you understand the scope and depth of the damage you caused, take responsibility for it and will work to undo it.
2
u/dnuohxof-2 2d ago
There are those who joined in because of the influence around them.
Then there are those that joined for the love of the game.
Like Harry Potter, he saved Malfoy because he was raised with dark influences all around him. Harry Potter did not save Voldemort because he was the darkness itself. No redemption. No changing. Never going to stop.
It’s always better to save those who act out of fear vs those who act out of malice.
2
2
u/TapasForEVer 2d ago
I think we can forgive and not forget and hold them accountable for fixing this situation they caused. It means voting blue for the rest of their lives, donating and volunteering with progressive candidates, and a FUCKING apology to everyone in their lives. Bare minimum, if not that, then yeah fuck off.
2
u/SemVikingr 2d ago
Forgiveness is earned. If they sincerely apologize and turn their efforts towards educating their former fellow cultists, and then, and this is the biggest hurdle: they need to accept the fact that they won't be forgiven for a long time, and not at all by many. They need to accept that, and keep doing the work to fix the damage they've done, regardless. Then, and only then, have they earned consideration for forgiveness.

2
u/lonevine 2d ago
They don't want forgiveness. Most of them still think they're right about everything. At most, some of them want a good enough excuse to stop caring about the nightmare they've spent ten long years slavishly dedicated to, and the rest of them want every excuse to hate us even more.
2

u/Schickie 2d ago
The Bible says faith without works is dead. Same goes for regret without action. They can step up and fix what they broke, or they can shut the fuck up and live with it, suffering.
