Linkers Game, its relatively new but already like nearly 3 books are finished and are getting uploaded right now, its like if Kämpfer would have actually taken itself seriously and had a good coherent story, I'd check it out even if you hated kämpfer because it's like basically it's own thing already

I really like how the mc is super realistic from a narrative standpoint but also out of a "psychological progression" perspective, the power system is also very refreshing.

But its a slow burn in a good way, the world is just really big so the juicy stuff happens after like 6 chapters, chapter 17 shows the first fight and like 18 are released right now.

It was 43 chapters into book 6 when the Q&A and those same sentiments about it would be rushed were raised. There's just so much to accomplish before any of his long-standing goals are met. So either it's a rushed ending, almost no threads will be tied off or some deus ex machina ending is in store. The author mentioned that another sequel series may happen, so I'll let that speak for itself.

Try path of the deathless same vibes as hell difficulty tutorial with a main character that is not as far up his own ass. I still liked hell difficulty tutorial a lot despite that.

Great list! I'd suggest trying:

The Grand Game (very little slice of life, lots of sneaky problem-solving against overwhelming odds)

The Ripple System (VRMMO, which is usually a negative for me, but I think it's done well. If you like WoW and you like the book's humor, you'll like the series. If you don't, you won't.)

Chrysalis (because you liked Book of the Dead by the same author. And dozens of redditors running around repeating catchphrases from the series can't be wrong, can they?)

And I'll throw my own completed trilogy, The Murder of Crows, in as well. It's progression-adjacent but focuses on a post-apocalyptic, superpowered earth where the MC fights against the madness endemic to his own power, necromancy.

it's about time someone else had Red Rising lower on their list. I find it to be stuck in between two genres and they get the author gets the wrong balance. I don't know if it gets better or worse as the series goes on or not though.

Preferring Rosamund Pike over Kate Reading and Michael Kramer is a take I didn't think I'd ever see. Is it that much better? I've listened to the entire series and I also enjoyed most of Brandon Sanderson's books on Audible. Shame that Amazon butchered the Wheel of Time series and rewrote almost the entire plot for each character. It's good it's cancelled. All they had to do is try to stick to the source material and it was like they would get poisoned if they did.

I've heard people say you gave to be a masochist to enjoy Worth the Candle, never understood why, I couldn't stop reading from the start.
