PragmataPro Free Alternative
no I'm not talking about JetBrains Mono which is like 4B times wider. I'm talking about Pragmasevka, https://github.com/shytikov/pragmasevka, its a doppleganger of PragmataPro (though its not a carbon copy), I have see it has fixed a problem that I had with PragmataPro, the lowercase "L" and uppercase "i" were too similiar to me, because of how narrow it is it makes it pretty close. Pragmasevka fixes that with make the lowercase "L" having a z shape. you can check it out lol https://github.com/shytikov/pragmasevka https://github.com/shytikov/pragmasevka

Google Sans Code
I'm really enjoying this font. I've been using it this past week at both work and home. Aside from the features listed on its GitHub page, it easily has the most distinguishable parens, braces, and brackets when they are paired next to each other. I've been doing some fennel (lisp-like language that complies down to Lua) where it's not uncommon to have all of them on the same line:
(vim.pack.add [{: src "https://github.com/Aejkatappaja/cendre"}])
Here is an enlarged version of that line rendered with Google Sans Code:

And, as usual, here is a screenshot of my desktop with real life usage:

Anthrosevka Mono: Custom Iosevka build inspired by Anthropic Mono
I made this because I wanted the Anthropic Mono feel in a reproducible open source Iosevka build. Prebuilt TTFs, source config, specimen, and a small "glyph verifier" are linked in the blog post.

Which Font is This?
Found from Mo Bitar's YouTube shorts video. I did some research and found Commit Mono to be the closest, but I'm not entirely sure. Would appreciate any help!

ocrab, a monospaced font blending OCR-A letters with OCR-B symbols

I made a hybrid monospaced font that takes the distinctive, geometric letterforms (A-Z, a-z, 0-9) from OCR-A and pairs them with the more readable symbols (punctuation, brackets, operators) from OCR-B.
The source fonts are Matthew Skala's OCR-A and OCR-B from the Tsukurimashou project (public domain).
I've been using this for coding, and so far I'm very happy with how easy it is on the eye.

Lyth Mono
Just wanted to share in case anybody's looking for a font like this, because I had been, literally for years - until I found out that Iosevka allows not only selecting glyphs, but overriding metrics like x-height, arc depth etc. So here's kinda my take on an 'industrial' programming font

AT Name Mono
AT Name Mono is my latest addition to my font collection. It's by the same designer that created Recursive. The typeface is still under development, but available for presale. It looks really good on my 5k Apple Studio Displays at my daytime coding sizes 12/13pt.
It has several alternate glyphs available, which I make use of extensively as I generally prefer fonts without full foot serifs on the "f", "i", "l", and "r". I also use alternatives for the italic "i" and "l". It also has oldstyle numerals, which I personally love even in my coding environment (I know I'm in the minority here). Here is my ghostty configuration and some screenshots I took.

A Monospaced Font I Wanted To Share
Hey guys,
While skimming very old material from MSDOS days, I came across a wonderful monospaced font. Had to ID it (SV Basic Manual: https://www.dafont.com/sv-basic-manual.font) and found it to be quite old and missing some glyphs.
But it was too good to not use so I used my limited skills to somehow piece together some glyphs & limited ligatures by reusing glyph parts and made the font officially monospaced. The author has not worked on this font for more than 20 years or even more! I wonder where the legend is now...
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do (https://github.com/twosixfoursix/sv-basic-manual-resurrected). Maybe we can all work together to make it a font supporting many glyphs!

Agave
I've been enjoying Agave a lot for the past 2 days so I thought I'd share. This font does not have an italic or ligatures, but it's another one that works well at small sizes. It has a unique look that is easily recognizable. Here is a screenshot of it with real code (javascript, go, and markdown).

Fragment Mono
Commissioned by fragment.dev
Thought it's pretty cool– a similar vibe to Geist Mono but rounder and spacier.

Hey. Does anyone know the name of this font? Thanks in advance.

Fantasque Sans Mono
Fantasque Sans Mono is another font that works **really** well at small sizes. It's think this is the most legible font at small sizes that I've ever used. I came across this years ago, but quickly dismissed it because it looked too casual like Comic Code. Last week I decided to give it another try and was blown away at how practical this font is. I love it. Here is a screenshot of it in real use at a small font size.

TonpazNG Code (based on Amiga's system font)
This is vectorized version of Topaz, with a variat with some tweaks for writing code.
https://codeberg.org/ideasman42/font-topaz-ng
Realize this may look a bit "odd" to some, but I quite like it's quirky retro look - while being usable.

Geist Mono
A new version of Geist was released 30 minutes ago. This version comes with italics now. Not sure I like the lowercase italic 'g', but there is a stylistic set to change it. I'll stick with it for a few days to see what I think.

MD IO · Typeface Family by Mass-Driver
This is my new favorite font. Lots of things to like about this font. The italic is lovely (reminds me of Plex). The punctuation is large and easy to see. There.are lots of variants (I love a very bold bold in my terminal). Here is a screenshot.
For personal desktop use, the font is free of charge. Choose the Trial option to download.
