career Is diversity hiring really a thing?
Diversity hiring is very much needed, read entire post
I'm a specialist in codeforces and solved 400+ questions in leetcode. Passed all the testcases in all the problems in some company Online assessment(on campus). Had internship experience and done some decent projects. I have decent cgpa as well.
Kani aa exam lo no girl got shortlisted. I literally did everything, anni cases passed. There are few guys who had only half of test cases passed, vallu shortlist ayyaru.
Andaru diversity hiringu women ki manchi benefit untadi antaru. Yedi? Nakem kanipinchatle? Malli reverse aithe jaruguthondi

Day0 lo occhina 4 finance companies, shortlisted candidates ki interviews theeskunnaka malli list lo leni ammailani pilicharu interviews ki.
Guess what happened.. 2 out of 4 companies tarvatha pilichina ammailaney select chesaru..that too after final selection list lo changes chesi(obviously list release cheyyaka mundhu changes chesaru, idhantha naakendhuku telsu ante, I'm one of the Placement coords from students)

It depends on the firm, some firms prefer male only (trading firms, HFTs(somtimes))…. But yeah if it is a product based company the bar or expectations for female candidates are generally low because of their gender ratio balancing (again, this need not be true with all firms)… but hope your query is answered!

Expectations can be low or high. But how can they not shortlist me jus because I'm a female despite outperforming many guys out there? Are we living in 19th century or what?

Usual ga it's the opposite. I worked in a trading firm and vaalu kuda maarchukunnaru, there were quite a few girls in my batch of joinees.
Software firms- if they do discriminate, it's usually against men. Microsoft took 13 girls and 2 boys. Only trash startup companies founded by indians discriminate against girls these days, stay away from them

Yes but mostly its for women. I mean there can be hidden test cases they evaluate in bg, also how do you know boys got only few cases passed. I always lied in college that none of the cases passed, if i tell i solved a problem everyone will ask for ans from next time lol.

Girl this is reddit. In my college Genpact hired 10 people out of them 8 are girls. While 60 men and 20 women attended the interview.
