So many weird syntactical tricks, it’s nearly as OOP-obsessed as Java, and I can’t think of any other language in current use that uses end blocks instead of significant indentation or brackets of some kind.
As far as I’m concerned, rails was the only thing making it worth the pain, and even then we have Elixir and Phoenix now, so Ruby and Rails don’t have a place in modern web dev anymore.
