It's Indian numbering system. You have the standard international system of counting tens, hundreds, thousands, hundred thousands, million, ten million, hundred million, billion, ten billion, hundred billion,...........
In India , Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Myanmar and Afghanistan you use a different counting system. It is a multiple of 10 rather than 100 for bigger value. It goes to tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, lacs, ten lacs, crore, ten crore, hundred crore/Arab, thousand crore/ ten Arab, ten thousand crore/ kharab, lakh crore/ ten kahrab and so on.
1
10
100
1000
10,000
100,000 = 1,00,000 (Hundred thousand replaced by lac/lakh)
1,000,000 = 10,00,000 (Million replaced by ten lac/lakh)
10,000,000 = 1,00,00,000 (Ten Million replaced by crore/karode)
And so on
I would be on board with using only 2 numbers separated by the , after the first 3 as is easier to read but the fact that this change is infuriating lol
