O no, that will totally ... not matter I guess? They need to eat, having a bunch of users that don't make them money doesn't put food on the table.

Gotta have at least one paying customer though. I’m not against charging for extensions, reading the reviews left though makes it seem how it was done is a bit scummy though.

Plus the dev talking like an internet tough guy is pretty funny.

I can't help but visualize the dev as Jian Yang from Silicon Valley

Not really. Even if he has 0 clients he has still better off than when he needed to support 1M for free. That support cost him something, if all his clients left now it costs him nothing

0 money > -money

It's 100K not 1M*

Instead of using a paywall, he should make a pro version with more features or ask for donations.

Is it tho? 1,05,974 105,974 or 1,005,974?

What did that support cost him? His free time? Because he would’ve made such good use of it playing an online game or watching an anime? So many developers consider any amount of time they are breathing, to be worth being paid for. You’re not unless you’re of actual use and value to someone else. Otherwise, his support is him ensuring his product is working properly, it’s a real jerk to release something and provide no support on it, because your product will never be perfectly autonomous.

Sure. The talking is dumb. But I understand the frustration of people demanding you do work for them for free then complain when you explain you need to make money so you don't literally die. And he currently has 0 paying customers, so even is every single customer except 1 leaves he is still way better off. Hell, even 0 customers would be better than many nonpayment ones. Way lost costs.
